Yeah, that vid got the point across, too. Also, if you're doing your job as a Vanguard, Garrus stays alive longer because you're taking the heat for him.
This! Garrus almost never dies in my games. He and Thane chill out taking turns at headshots while I beat the crap out of everything and light them on fire with flame rounds.
Also, shockwave is like bowling and I love sending groups of people flying with it.
Adrenaline junkies, FTW!

Sic them on a Harbinger. I only had to shoot at one on the base during my insanity playthrough and that was only because I was using it as a charge point to get to the button to save Legion's butt from getting too toasty.Sialater wrote...

I heart my snipers. Shockwave, Pull, and Group Charge gives them perfect opportunities to get the drop on the baddies... but I always yell HEY at Garrus when he hits me with a heavy concussion... my screen gets all bright -.-
Ever seen him use concussive shot on a target two inches from the barrel of his sniper rifle? I saw him do it to a merc on Miranda's LM. That corpse went flying!
Vanguard Pull + Thane's Warp + Garrus' Concussive Shot = exploded corpse.

It only knocks it down halfway on Veteran and up. But that's at least half the work done.
Charge makes an excellent shortcut to a better location.
Though I can imagine the conversation going like this:
Garrus: One less to worry about! ~looks around~ Shepard! Where the hell did you go?
Shepard: ~from the other side of the bridge~ Hi, honey! I'm over here!

Edt, re CityTalk: It's not whether or not they'll be useful in the future, It's more that I'm not certain we'll be able to sustain them long enough to last that long.I think Phoenix would be one of the largest cities in North America if it could last that long. Just went to Mexico last weekend though, and checked out their water situation just south of the border...they need more water than they're getting, too, worse than AZ cities by far. So if Phoenix can't make it...And Montana's got a whole host of its own problems, actually, they're losing soil structure like crazy with all the deforestation (*points to username* I love me some soil) and then there's the problems left over from the mining...
Bioware sounds like its taking the optimistic route though, so I probably shouldn't worry about it too much. I'm overthinking this.
ANYWAY. What were we talking about?
I'm gonna guess Garrus.
Garrus Garrus Garrus.
*Raises hand -Is in Montana-*
Hey, we have about 950K now, thank you very much!
And I love Garrus. Hey, just replayed the Garrus recruitment mission last night as a Vanguard. BOOYAH! Why was I so scared of biotics before? I wasted Garm before he even got up the stairs to get my Gar-boy.
Edited: because I have typing issues. >.<

Gah I hate collector base combat. When ever I'm on those damn platforms, I hit Charge to Harby and suddenly... I'm still behind the chest high wall I started at. /JUNKIE RAGE
I love watching some of the biotic powers combo... those corpses can get launched into orbit sometimes XD
I also love shockwavin' the hordes of Husks... I hate husks normally... then I discovered the cheese of Shockwave.
I will never play on Insanity. Giving husks armor is CHEATING.

It's not THAT bad. Shoot them a little with your submachine gun to get rid of that armor and use shockwave. Also, backpedaling while shooting is a wonderful thing when a bunch show up. Garrus will take care of them for you if you switch him to his AR when that happens.silentstephi wrote...

I'm still stuck on trying to finish my latest PT... I'm up to where all loyalties are done 'cept for Thane and Samara, who I haven't recruited yet. I think it's because I'm missing Garrus on the team. I'm taking Kasumi to a lot of them to hear her dialogue/take screen shots.
Kasumi is actually pretty awesome with her little Shadow Step. Very powerful move.
I've tried playing two other classes - Adept (which I STINK at, but I finished that PT, thank god) and Soldier... again, I stink at it, because I miss the biotics. I'm trying to stay away from Infiltrator because... well, that's why I have Garrus XD Engineer doesn't interest me, and I've been a priest/healer for too long to want to be a sentinel.
If that makes sense.
Is there actually any mission Garrus isn't useful as a teammate? He's pretty well rounded as a character...

DH usually gets a game plowed through, hence the achievements, before I do. ME2 was one time that I undermined him gloriously.
DH: "Hey, check it out. I'm about to get the "No one left behind" achievement.
Me: "Oh, you mean the achievement....that I got last night???"
Also, I'm sure he didn't care about the Paramour achievement, but....

Not that I know of. He's good at close combat and long distance combat. Plus overload and concussive shot take out barrier and shields. Then once you get his armor piercing rounds he can take out armor as well. He's good at everything...except talking to pretty human spectres.
And as for you saying I'm awesome, I spend way too much time thinking of good battle tactics. Blame it on my having been raised by a marine father. Also, I play a lot of Call of Duty.

Incredible summary of all that is to be loved about Garrus.
If I ever don't take him on a mission, it's now that I'm on my 5th PT and wanna see what other characters say. Except for a couple of characters (Kasumi FTW!) I am underhwelmed. I did get Jack's comment about half-dead Garrus on his recruitment though...even knowing he's gonna be OK, it always gives me a sad to watch that part.

The most unsettling thing about that pregnant Shepard thing is still the incorrect number of fingers.
Unlessthat's someone else's hand on Shep's belly, which is even *more*
disturbing.
No man, it's less disturbing. Shepard is there with her human baby daddy and Garrus is just peaking into the camera frame like "hey guys, what's going on over here?" No abominations involved.
Flammie wrote...
It's strange, sometimes Garrus doesn't understand the euphemism or what you mean (I didn't know you were into
sparring, Commander), other times he's spouting them out like he knows how to weild an SMG. (heat sink, relieve stress, reach and flexibility, tiebreaker)
He seems pretty on the ball, I think he was just kind of stunned to consider the implications. "What? Nooo she
just meant sparring."
Regarding headbump, I think they just staged it that way so there wouldn't be a risk of clipping. I'm sure it's meant to read as a physical touch, though her head does seem to be further away from the camera than his.
So what MarginalBeast said.
