Is there actually any mission Garrus isn't useful as a teammate?  He's pretty well rounded as a character...

Well, speaking as someone who played as an infiltrator on my first run through ME2, he's still useful in a lot of situations but he ends up being kind of redundant after a while - particularly if you pick up the ability to use assault rifles on the Collector ship.

He still has overload though, which you don't, so that's a plus.

Grah, I needs to get out of this sad funk. Funny! I need to think funny stories. Not sad good lord I lost my biotic awesome stories.

And I haven't had much trouble w/ the whole getting Garrus to stay behind cover... but I don't micro manage them all that much... Oo

I'm guessing you have more micro management to do when you get up there in dif level...

That depends on how well he's going to stay behind cover...

Cover? Pfft! Garrus doesn't fear your puny bullets!

I will hsve to take time snd properly read through these posts to catch up. For the record, another blond haired, greeneyed Vanguard FemShep, here. I think Garrus definetly has a type!;)

Some pretty Garrus art I was linked to on DA. I didn't do it, but I've not seen it here and, y'know... Garrus!

That first one is amazing. Not sure I like the chest on the second one, though it is well beyond anything I can accomplish.

Yeah... that was what is throwing me (assumes stephi was referring to my post...) Sorry the embed doesn't seem to be working. :S
For the record, I did not do these. I have no art skillz to speak of!
EDIT: OK, now one is embedding and the other not, and the link has duplicated. I am confused. I think my netbook hates me. I will try to fix when I am home andon my lappy... WTF?)

The bloody Garrus is actually my favorite Garrus fanart of all time. Looks the most like the concept art, and whether or not we can use it as canon (CONCEPT art, I do get it.) I'VE been using it as canon for so long that anything that doesn't follow the concept art looks super wrong.

Plus, he looks so badass.

I would love to see some of Garrus's hand to hand combat skills. Beating up Harkin doesn't count no matter how satisfying it is.

Agreed.  MOAR Garrus beating things up for ME3, plz. :bandit:

(I still can't get over how weird it was watching Garrus beat the **** out of Harkin.  I was truly unsettled at the road he was going down but I was also incredibly turned on.    So wrong. Yet so right.)

As for the beating the snot out of Harkin, I loved it. So much so, that my Shepard uses the same tactic on Mouse! XD(Yes, I did Gar's loyalty before Thane's... the teacher can be taught!)

I did the renegade interrupt for Mouse once, because I was thinking,  "we don't have time for this", and I tried to apologize later, but he looked so sad, all "Go.  Just...leave me alone." :crying:  I promptly reloaded.

Plus, I didn't want to look like a hypocrite in front of Garrus, after his loyalty mission.

Mouse is no where in Harkin's league.  Harkin just makes me feel dirty.  Really wanted him to come on to me again so I could Renegade punch him.  Or maybe Garrus would get even MORE pissed on my behalf?

I feel awful Renegading Mouse.

Regarding blood mixing, I do think it would be purple.  I don't know how well it would mix without knowing the viscosity of turian blood.  As to the reaction of getting another species' blood on your wounds, again the reaction is hard to say.  Might be an irritant.  Probably doesn't help anything.

My mainShep can't renegade Mouse.  She sympathizes with him having been a pickpocket and former street rat herself.

I'm with Ray on that one.  I don't know enough about biology to know what a mixing of blood does in people other than having different blood types is probably bad, but usually, if you're bleeding out, you shouldn't have to worry about that.

As for the Mouse thing, you guys are so freakin' adorkable.  "I can't be mean!"  /snorfle

Janey, now you have me thinking about weird turian/human art... that's purple.
GAH.

Well, we already discovered I'm the Real Life Stupid Paragon with me clicking on the bioware bazaar links.

B-but...I can be mean! I-....I headbutt Uvenk! Yeah!

A lot of times I actually skip all kinds of interrupts because the dialogue that comes after them is worth it to hear. Like skipping that renegade interrupt for the speechifying krogan (the one that's BEGGING to be hit, it's on the screen for like 20 full seconds)  is totally worth it to see Mordin's  face when the krogan says they'll eat salarian eggs as a delicacy. I lol every time.

Oh, I can be mean.  Mouse is just too pitiful to warrant it.

Another song that made me think of Archangel:
Johnny Cash's Hurt. (Not the NIN version, it's not painful enough.)

Damn, you're ruthless, silentstephi.

I always send my teammates to cover manually, now. Haven't encountered any Garrus problems recently, actually, which is good.

siltsonata wrote...

Holy gibblets, man.   We have a ****-ton of Vanguards up in here.

...Does...does anybody besides Flammie play something other than a vanguard?  I'm feeling a ritrre Ronery.

This overwhelming feeling is worse than seeing Garrus get swarmed by husks.

Seriously, I didn't know most of us were adrenaline junkies.

silentstephi wrote...

Well, you are much more awesome than I XD
I'm still stuck on trying to finish my latest PT... I'm up to where all loyalties are done 'cept for Thane and Samara, who I haven't recruited yet.  I think it's because I'm missing Garrus on the team.  I'm taking Kasumi to a lot of them to hear her dialogue/take screen shots. Kasumi is actually pretty awesome with her little Shadow Step.  Very powerful move. I've tried playing two other classes - Adept (which I STINK at, but I finished that PT, thank god) and Soldier... again, I stink at it, because I miss the biotics.  I'm trying to stay away from Infiltrator because... well, that's why I have Garrus XD  Engineer doesn't interest me, and I've been a priest/healer for too long to want to be a sentinel. If that makes sense.

Hmm... I understand what you mean about the Sentinel, though it's not really much of a healer, it's fairly defensive, but it's good for plowing through defenses. Tech Armour to get you going and rushing through melee creatures with an SMG or through normal enemies with a sniper rifle (once you get the training, otherwise heavy pistol works), with Warp and Overload to plow through shields, barriers and armour. Throw's a pretty good afterthought. Stick on Warp or Armour Piercing Ammo and you can rip through enemies quite well, and Tech Armour is good to keep you going. Sort of reminds me when I played Prot Warrior, only the fighting's more long distance.

Wow, those still sent chills down my spine and got my heart pumping.

I quite liked when Garrus beat the hell out of Harkin. Not something I'd ever have the pluck to do, but it was nice to watch him. I think I was a little turned on.

That is the best version of that song.  I like NIN well enough but Johnny Cash's cover just makes it seem so much more mature and profoundly sad.  His cover of Nick Cave's The Mercy Seat has the same effect.  Must be his grumpy grandpa voice.  RIP

And yeah, I did a renegade interrupt of Mouse (because I love interrupts) and then I felt bad and reloaded.  It's fun to be mean until feelings are hurt. :C

Guys, I'm starting to draw parallels between Garrus and Jim Raynor of Starcraft, for some reason.

Is this even remotely legit or am I just high on the ash flowing in from Iceland?

@Silt - Hahaha that guy is awesome, I let him keep talking just to hear what other insults he can toss. I remember having Thane with me one time and he said something about the drell, but I have to see if he says anything more about Turians... I still blow him up, but I wait juuuuuuust long enough to hear his rant.

@Flammie - not Ruthless really, just on a short fuse and a time clock. >.>

I think the only time I restrain myself from doing a renegade interrupt is during Aljah-whatevers interview. I got to punch her once already, getting to tell her off the second time is soooo much more satisfying. Plus it keeps her guessing... not knowing if I'll haul off and deck her a second time. XD
