Oh, then you've missed something really good.

but just looking at the Wiki article... It's like... vaguely there, I guess?
Well, Raynor's the kind of guy who always wants to do right thing and who goes out of his own way to do it... but it doesn't always end that well. I guess in that regard he's a bit like Garrus.
Or perhaps I'm just linking the two because they're my favorite characters of their respective games. Probably.

@Silt - Hahaha that guy is awesome, I let him keep talking just to hear what other insults he can toss. I remember having Thane with me one time and he said something about the drell, but I have to see if he says anything more about Turians... I still blow him up, but I wait juuuuuuust long enough to hear his rant.
@Flammie - not Ruthless really, just on a short fuse and a time clock. >.>
I think the only time I restrain myself from doing a renegade interrupt is during Aljah-whatevers interview. I got to punch her once already, getting to tell her off the second time is soooo much more satisfying. Plus it keeps her guessing... not knowing if I'll haul off and deck her a second time. XD
He says things for other races? Hm. I only ever take Garrus on that mission so...maybe
And skipping the interrupt for the reporter is totally, completely worth it for the charm answer. So. Baddass. (The intimidate is pretty great as well. Both are far greater than the punch.) Besides, I'm holding off punching her on the off-chance she'll insult my choice in men in ME3, and THEN SOME **** IS GONNA GET PUNCHED.

I really liked how Shepard really shook down and humiliated the reporter with the Charm option.
"The Council owe them a lot more. And so do you,"
Really shook me.
Jim Raynor... damn, I haven't play Starcraft for ages. I thought he was a talking car when I played, actually. By far, the biggest name that I seem to remember from Starcraft is Kerrigan, for some reason. I don't know about the similarities between Raynor and Vakarian, though.
Eh, as people say, it's smaller, but we make essays out of mini subjects. I think Xsause made a Garrus song based on the Pokemon theme.

So, anyone notice that this thread is smaller than other fan threads? This must be resolved!
It is compact! And much easier to catch up on.
Do we have fewer regulars than the other threads (Tali aside) or do we just not post as often?

Silt, if she makes one jab at Garrus and Shepard...
She's not getting a punch.
I will not punch her.
The shotgun will be MUCH more satisfying.

I wouldn't say Garrus has the largest fanbase of any character, but I would say he definitely has the smallest hatebase...if that makes much sense. I think that's the core of his popularity. Fewer people who are "OMG GARRUS MY FAVORITE" but most everybody likes him to a degree.

Please magically give me a new xbox and I promise I'll use other characters, and play different classes, and play as a MShep, and generally enjoy the game to the fullest. I promise. I'll never take all of the options for granted again!)

I've punched her and reloaded both times. Both times, I think the paragon answer pwned her much more statisfactorily.
The punch may remain official, however, if she comments on Meghan's (or even Avery's) love life, that right hook will be applied.

"Did you get the pictures? When she pulled it out? When she fired the gun? When she minced me to a pulp with it? Good, that'll show her,"
I think somebody made a perfect comment, something along these lines:
"If you punch her, you're submitting to the media, and giving them what you want, and made it seem as if you were the bad one. By talking her down, you've humiliated her, and you've made her seem the mistaken, foolish one,"
It's still funny to punch her, though.

I loved my Prot Warrior. Mostly indestructible against some elites and masses of mobs at the same level, and can still put on some excellent hurt. Not in instances, though, obviously. Haven't been on for a while. Kinda miss it at times. Fully Horde and on European servers, so there probably wouldn't be any connections with any of you WoW players in this thread.
ME3 will be awesome. And I'm sure Bioware aren't going to put this universe they've created to waste, either. They will make more. And there will be more turians. And possibly more Garrus.
I remember somebody said that if you put the characters into a sort of table where you rate them from one to five and calculate the average, because you'd be hard pressed to find many who truly hate Garrus, he'd come out pretty high, whilst others, like Tali, may have lots of fans, but a fair few who dislike them, too.

So proud of thems.
And yea, I have very small, almost not even there doubts that they wouldn't bring Garrus back for 3. He's got no where else to go. He's stuck with Shepard, Male or Fem. XD
I wonder how the Dragon Age RPG book is doing... if it's doing well, I'd almost hope they'd take the risk on an ME book...

Hey, my mainShep is a vanguard too! *highfive* I remember when I made her in ME1, I was thinking for like 30 minutes which class to choose. Vanguard has combat and biotics and that seemed like a nice combination. My renegade ugly manShep is an engineer. I actually like playing as an engineer more than a vanguard, but my mainShep will be a vanguard forever. I just can't think of her as any other class.
MainShep has brown hair and brown eyes though. Hey, Garrus likes some variation in his ladies
Starcraft was my second online game addiction after Diablo actually. But I never finished single player campaign, I liked multiplayer more. So I don't have an opinion on similarities between Raynor and our lovely lovely Garrus.

I'm sure Garrus isn't as shallow as going for just one type of lady. I bet he'd go for the 15-year-old pretending to be a 30-year-old with different hair colour, too.
Actually, no, he probably wouldn't, but no harm in trying. Am settling for a Sentinel MainShep, though.
I thought combat and biotics was interesting, but a Vanguard seems to be more of a high risk character than I can ever take. I like biotics, and I like tech, anyway. Adept and Engineer would require me to circulate between too many different powers, I can imagine. I wasn't fond of having only one power shortcut in ME1, as a Sentinel.
Garrus.
But, Garrus. Garrus, But. Garrus's Butt.
As does Garrus. As, Garrus. Garrus, As. Garrus's Ass.
Hehehe... haven't used those in a while.

OT, but the ME soundtrack(s) are great, I listened to them while drawing. I never actually realized how dull the game would be without the awesome tunes in the background. Especially during the epic parts like the Suicide mission, and when Samara appears.
lol Flammie, Garrus has a funny butt. It's so flat.

Oh, I can be mean. Mouse is just too pitiful to warrant it.
Another song that made me think of Archangel:
Johnny Cash's Hurt. (Not the NIN version, it's not painful enough.)
That is the best version of that song. I like NIN well enough but Johnny Cash's cover just makes it seem so much more mature and profoundly sad. His cover of Nick Cave's The Mercy Seat has the same effect. Must be his grumpy grandpa voice. RIP
And yeah, I did a renegade interrupt of Mouse (because I love interrupts) and then I felt bad and reloaded. It's fun to be mean until feelings are hurt. :C
Heh. I did the same.
And here's a fun fact: After Jonny Cash did his cover of Hurt Trent Reznor and the rest if Nine Inch Nails said that they would never gain play that song, as "once The Man In Black remakes one of your songs, it's not yours anymore." NIN and 90% of bands that existed before Cash died respected him that much.
When I read the article NIN posted about it, I was actually awed.

Yeah, I guess, but at least it doesn't get in the way. And he's got some fine hips and a supportive waist. He also seems quite muscular, but slender, which is excellent.
Woo, Garrus's body, let's toast to that... I don't have a cup...

video plot bunny has struck.
Leave Out All the Rest...
Was thinking of this as a Thane/Shep song... but I think I could possibly make it a Shepard/Garrus one... or just a Normandy crew one... Oooooh must track this plot bunny down and eats it...

I don't mind this thread being smaller than other support threads. I likes it this way ^^. More people are welcome of course, but I don't want to spend 4 hours everyday trying to catch up. And we all know Garrus has a lot of fans. And why not, he's AWESOME.
MOAR Garrus:

Reposting this because he's extremely handsome in this pic.
