Sure but say you are already bleeding and you don't have an animal around! I don't think the implication here is that Garrus is mutilating himself.

Edit: although, hmm.  Those are claw marks.  Garrus don't do that!

Maybe...but it's off putting for me because I still swear by the theory that colony markings are tattoos and not face paint. I think Shep's joke about face paint was just that: a joke. Meh but that's just me.

And from the outside, people think "Sure, I can go with that" because they acknowledge, just like you do, that Garrus is a good/awesome but not necessarily perfect character.

Also, your definition of "cute" is definitely tamer than theirs. At one point, they believed that Tali hiccuping at the dinner table would necessitate a hug. "Sweet" as it may be, it's enough to give even the most hardy and resilient people diabetes.

Also, the third thing that sets you apart is that you do not go out of your way to defile other characters to get your point across. The point where I really lost it and began to hate... nay, oppose Tali and her fandom, was when someone in their fan-thread posted a comic where Shepard sacrificed Garrus to the collector bees just so she could hug Tali. I just lost it. It was canon defilement at its best.

I naturally asked why the hell Shep would do that to her own squad mate, and they naturally replied that "Garrus would happily give his life for such a noble goal."

Garrus' life. For a hug.

Right, and you wonder why people hate your fandom? If that's not answer enough, I don't know what is.

In any way, this is just my 2 very subjective cents.

Back to the Blood-As-Face-Paint... I just think it's cool. I don't think he REGULARALY would do that. But when he doesn't have any paint on hand and in a situation... it strikes me as a very 'traditional warrior' thing and really neat. Heck, it makes him cooler, more bada** and sexier to me. But like I said... I'm warped.

Hey - I may be dense for just realsing this (I'm doing the 'headbump' research I meant to do earlier, and we've already settled anyway) but the romance scene takes place when Joker says you only have an ETA of 2 hours to the O-4 relay. This means that between Shep giving the order, going for a shower, Garrus realising she has given the order, fetching his wine and making his way up (also, how cute is that open-armed gesture after he runs to turn on the stripper music. I lol just thinking about it), they have less than 2 hours to properly express their feelings, and work out what the heck they are doing. That's short at the best of times, but for experienamental cross-speices relations... well, it's no wonder Garrus looks awkward in the couhc scenes afterwards, is all I'm saying. lol



Hopefully, they had a bit more time after the suicide mission to 'get things right'

OK... posting in response to yesterday be re:headbump.



In mine, there is no 'clipping' effect in terms of them cutting into each other, and they do definetly touch, but it's only for like a milisecond, before he pulls back slightly and strokes her arm. For some reason I remembered the headbump as a lingering thing, but it seems not.



I'm also not entirly sure if they bump bump, or if it's that ting that happens when you turn your head and move in close to someone (as if to kiss) where you move past each other, without touching.



Having said that, yes. Headbump. Always.
