I like anniezard's depiction of their "friendship." That's how I view them, anyway. They're on friendly terms, but I don't think Tali actually likes Garrus very much. Garrus is kind of a douche to everyone except Shep. Also, shipping Garrus and Tali seems too OOC to me. They need more compatibility than just their dextro-amino acid based dna.

Yeah, I see it as a love-hate relationship. I can see a sort of deep, hidden bond between them, but on the outside, and normally, they're at each other's throats. Kind of the brother-sister relationship.

I remember we were talking about Garrus's reactions to vanguard Shepard, and how he'd slowly find Shepard's charging sexy. I remember making a sarcy skit back at them for Sentinels.

I agree. I've made the odd 'romance' joke myself, but it was in that worst case romance scenario thread. I don't see them as a couple at all. But yet pretty much everywhere you turn in the 'pairing characters up' stakes, there they are. (the pictures on the googles. Oh gods, my eyes!  I wasn't even searching for that!!)

And yes, Garrus is kind of a douche to people who aren't Shepard. Come to think of it, all the people who seem to care about him (all both of them, from the emails) are human females. lol It's like the rest of the galaxy are going 'don't be an ass, Garrus.' and these women are all like 'D'awww. He just needs a hug.'

That's because he's a sweet **** and sweet ****s are also hilarious.

Awww, I think a lot of his uptightness with slight hints of douchebaggery left with his idealism in ME1. He was a lot more irrationally hard line about things then. But then it's hard to say since squadmates hardly ever talk to each other in ME2 :C

Yeah, I don't think Garrus goes out of his way to get people to hate him, but he does seem to have a lot of enemies. And a lot of fans. And people who love him. And people who fantasise about him.
