Indeed, I hope they actually don't introduce too many new characters in ME3.Collider wrote...

I can't add much to the history chat... other than it's important... otherwise we're all doomed to repeat it. But I guess since it's happens so often... we're screwed! ^.^
The motivationals I've been seeing are so win.
hrm, if they did actually do a Mass Effect movie... how do you think they'd hand Turians/Krogans? Like... would you think they'd be better pulling them off as CGs or actually costumes, the whole nine? XD

A "good turian" toes the party line, blends into his community, and does what he's told. People who buck the system are going to be a lot less appreciated.
And we know how much Garrus loves to follow rules.

First off, hi everyone, visitor from the Tali thread (don't shoot me)
Second off, I think a Mass Effect movie could be done well but you couldn't please everyone, and I know that you femsheps will get the short end of the stick if they ever do. Which sucks.

We all know how good game-to-movie films have been...
Yeah, I know
It would need a good director, like Peter Jackson to pull it off, he already did the impossible and made a great book to movie adaptation

Maybe I'm just a total ME ho, but I would love to pay to see a movie as long as it didn't deal with the plots of the games. First Contact War? Yes. A retelling of Mass Effect: Galaxy? Yes. (
I just don't want to see anything that messes with whatever canon the player has set out for themselves. Which means no Shepard's story. EVER.
And I'm positive they'd go full CGI on the Turians, after what we saw in Avatar. (Although I'm not sure if I would mind seeing some classy animatronics.)

CGI, a la "District 9". And if they pulled it off in the same way as that exceptional film, it'd be so much win.
But on the other hand, have you ever seen "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus"? Or "Ice Spiders"?
::shudder:: (sits in corner. "So...much...FAIL!! Think about cupcakes!!!!")

I agree, if it's not Shepard's story, it's alright. I mean alright so far as game-to-movie films go. If they ever do a ME film, I want them to do it right...or not at all.siltsonata wrote...

Hi there!!! We won't shoot you... We're a pretty tame bunch... Most of the time =P
A Mass Effect Movie could be done, but it would most likely suck, I mean most movies based off games just fail at life... Plus I don't think BioWare will make a movie, for I think their whole focus with the Mass Effect series is giving their players the ability to literally create they're own story. However, they could always make a movie about Blasto =P

Oh, I really hope they would make it right, but I'm not going to pretend I wouldn't see it. even if it did look awful. I might go and **** about how terrible it is afterward, but I'd be lying if I said I'd boycott it entirely. I'd be there, for a midnight showing, probably in costume.

And after watching Avatar in 3D at an amazing threater(yippie Alamo Drafthouse Theaters!) I would say I would rather see most of the aliens done in that style of CG. It blew me away how good that CG was compared to the CGs of the past.
I need more sours mix... I screwed up and didn't buy any when I picked up the fresh bottle of amaretto on the way home... D:

But if it was not involving any of the characters, definitely I'd see it (but I think the probability of that happening = 0)

I wouldn't mind a movie based off my Shepard but its my Shepard, not anyone else's and it would only be good for me and no one else
We'd have to see
If they did make a movie
Shepard would be male, soldier, Spacer/War Hero probably. he'd be paragon, save the council, not do any side quests. He wouldn't kill wrex or the colonists on feros or the rachnni. As for LI, well you can make good cases for Liara, Tali and Ashley

I'd be right there with you...
But hopefully if they did make it, it would be good... Although hoping never gets you very far... I've already watched one of my most loved and cherished video game series get completely desecrated by being turned into a horribly produced anime... Yet even though it sucked, I still bought the darned thing... *sigh* I do not like it when people take great series and ruin it for the sake of profit
But here's to hoping that something like that doesn't happen to Mass Effect!!!

I know, he was so badass and cruel at the same time. That poor Batarian woman.. But when he killed the blue suns merc in the brothel it did show that he had some morals left. That was a really good book

I NEEEEEEEEEED this after the day I had. I have tomorrow off, finally, and today was EVIL. /whine whine whine
But back to the movie issue... I haven't read the books yet, and I'm kind of scared to. I always had enough paragon points to talk sense into Saren the two times Shep had a chance to. Knowing he's actually really a horrible person would kind of make me feel sad. I mean, I really pity both Saren and the Collector General by the end of the two games. Still, I'd go see the movie if it wasn't about the ME game characters. My Fem!Shep is THE Shepard to me... seeing a movie version, esp of Male!Shep, would just make me annoyed. Or feel disconnected to the character.

I think Garrus was already a little boy by the time the First Contact War came around. He was probably that annoying little kid that would never stop asking about the new aliens. What am I saying, he was probably adorable.
Wait. Didn't the First Contact War end 30 years prior to ME1? So Garrus and Shepard weren't even born then.
I know this is from a few pages back, but I think I can answer them! DUR DUR JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE, GUYS AND GALS.
If I'm remembering this correctly, the First Contact War happened 26 years before the start of Mass Effect. Shepard would have been pretty young, but Garrus?
Well...
Regarding Garrus' age, Patrick Weekes said: "I don't think there IS a canonical answer, but the intent was always that he was a relatively inexperienced C-Sec officer who had enough experience under his belt to be frustrated with the system. I'd definitely say under 30, provided that works in terms of turian training."
...So I guess we don't know if he was around for the First Contact War or not.
EDIT: Source. Patrick's LJ is Pats_quinade at the bottom of the entry. (Hopefully I didn't fail so you can all see it).
