Holy cow...Saren's badassery on film...I'd pay triple to see that!!
(for those who haven't read the first novel, believe me, he's a Care Bear in the game compared to the novel...rrawr!)
I know, he was so badass and cruel at the same time. That poor Batarian woman.. But when he killed the blue suns merc in the brothel it did show that he had some morals left. That was a really good book
Eh, I disagree a bit on this.
I wish I hadn't read about how much of a douche he was in the book. IN ME1, the game made him seem like a misguided villian. like, he was really looking out for the good of the galaxy, but he was just another sucker. Made him seem much more sympathetic.
Then the books came and painted him as this heartless douche of douchebaggery and I was like *tosses hands in air* Fudge it, he's not redeemable, never was. : /
I have no qualms with him being slightly ruthless, or at least abrupt or Renegadey... but really, he was to the extreme ass hattery.
That's just me...
A movie based on Redemption... ick. A movie based in the ME 'verse would be awesome. I would not want Shepard's story movie-tised.

The problem is that we don't know Garrus' age. Or do we...?MarginalBeast wrote...

I think Garrus was already a little boy by the time the First Contact War came around. He was probably that annoying little kid that would never stop asking about the new aliens. What am I saying, he was probably adorable.
Wait. Didn't the First Contact War end 30 years prior to ME1? So Garrus and Shepard weren't even born then.
I know this is from a few pages back, but I think I can answer them! DUR DUR JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE, GUYS AND GALS.
If I'm remembering this correctly, the First Contact War happened 26 years before the start of Mass Effect. Shepard would have been pretty young, but Garrus?
Well...
Regarding Garrus' age, Patrick Weekes said: "I don't think there IS a canonical answer, but the intent was always that he was a relatively inexperienced C-Sec officer who had enough experience under his belt to be frustrated with the system. I'd definitely say under 30, provided that works in terms of turian training."
...So I guess we don't know if he was around for the First Contact War or not.
EDIT: My link-fu is broken. Hang on, I'll see if I can't fix it in a bit.

I do like the Mass Effect explanation for why intelligent life elsewhere hasn't contacted us. Our mass relay is encased in ice and deactivated. You can't enter a door that's locked.
I find it amazing that in 26 years they managed to find alien ruins on Mars, use that technology for space travel, chip away all the ice that was Charon (it may be small but still, it's a moon), travel to other systems and colonize them, come into contact with intelligent life, get into a war with the Turians, discover all the other species in the galaxy, and be able to instantly translate and communicate with them.
The Turians joined the Citadel races like 1200 years ago, but they had discovered the relays a couple hundred years before that (I think).
Just got "Revelations" from the library. Need to read some before bed.

He was always heartless. I approved of everything he did in the book except making Anderson look bad and not saving that Batarian woman. Everything else he did was fine by me

I have one comment on a Mass Effect movie, it could very well be directed by Uwe Boll. No one wants that.
OK, that is probably the only circumstance where I wouldn't see it.
...No, I totally would. But I'd go drunk with the intention of throwing my shoes at the screen and getting kicked out.

It seems everyone is in agreement about a Mass Effect movie with Saren?I hope BioWare is reading this, because I'd like to see more about Saren too. He was awesome in Revelation.
Absolutely. I feel like there's too little Saren in my life. I'd like to know more about this brother that he lost in the FC War. In fact, I'd just like to see Revelation as the movie.
I'm sad Saren is dead, in fact. He was such an awesome villain. I'm halfway (HALFWAY) hoping Bioware pulls some crap plot device to resurrect him as a zombie in ME3 or something.:innocent:

Saren...I never did come to see him as misguided or redeemable. Wrex and Anderson tell stories that kind of made up my mind that he really was evil at the core, so I think this book (still haven't gotten around to ordering, gah) will just reaffirm that. His actions at the end of ME1 seemed to be just showcasing how broken his mind was at that point. I mean, he -is- a bit affable in a weird way, but no one said you can't be both evil and charismatic....
Edit: Uwe Boll + Mass effect =

My Shepard would have wanted to say this about the Saren statue.
Shepard: Kasumi, you're a thief, right? ...Steal that Saren statue. >

Me too.I'm also kind of hoping TIM puts that Lazarus Project to more good use and brings Saren back, as impossible as it may seem. (...And my Shepard wants him to be a romance option. Too much to hope for? xD) Also, that part with the batarian would totally be one of those "can't look, but can't look away" scenes for me if it was made into a movie.
My Shepard would have wanted to say this about the Saren statue.
Shepard: Kasumi, you're a thief, right? ...Steal that Saren statue. >I'm bringing it to my cabin.
Saren a squademate? Tali and Garrus might have a few things to say about
But that statue was awesome

A couple times, but not to often. Hes calibrating in tali's thread to much. I say we all come up with a diabolical plan to lure him in.
