I'm so sad, I missed all the fun! Cerrydd, you're right social life IRL sucks...But I've been completely sauced the entire weekend (when my little one permits) so it's okay! I must say the last bajillion pages of shenanigans I've missed are full of delicious win...quite litterally.
Yes, curse social life. Garrus and the content of this thread are a lot more interesting
Interesting question, AngryP1xel. I have honestly no idea. The crew has to socialize somehow, I don't think they eat their meals in their own rooms. But still, I have a tendency to think of Garrus acting all professional. Probably because BW doesn't show us a lot of crew interaction.
I'm just hoping we'll get to see more squad interaction in ME3. *hopes hopes hopes hopes hopes*
Edit: Arcian, thanks for making me laugh. Sniper rifle as a tooth pick. Garrus is too badass for words. MWUHAHA.

Soltana, I completely agree that he and Thane are BFFs. Garrus was way too impressed with Thane to not want to hang out with him.
True, but shepard will always be his bro

Apparently if Garrus snipes you it's his expression of love.
...I've never been sniped by him.
Oh, I can't help it.
Garrus, what is love?
"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds."

Question for you guys, maybe topic for discussion. Since we don't see much of the crew interactions, aside from the occasional fight, what kind of relationships do you thing Garrus has with the other members of the crew? Is he strictly professional or did he make friends with some of them? Does he joke around with them? Have long conversations with them? He can't calibrate the guns all day and all night. He has to socialize at some point during the day.
I get the impression that Garrus isn't exactly one for socialising with the crew. When Joker made his 'stick up his butt' comment re:ME1 Gar, I was like "Huh? Never noticed." but the more I replayed it, and then when I went through ME2, I realise that Garrus has a weird kind of duality going on. On the one hand, he is professional, dedicated (doesn't want to 'cause any disruption' for the crew, etc.), and a model soldier, but at the same time he is quite snarky. In conversation with Shepard, you get the impression that he just has quite a sarcastic sense of humor which he uses to ease tension, but whenever he is talking to the other crew members, it comes off quite acidic.
I don't think he gets on well with Miranda. I think they are polite and professional with one another, but I don't think they trust one another at all. He says that the crew are 'polite' to him, but I get the impression that the alien-hate is still very much there in Cerberus.
I think with Grunt, we have the Wrex relationship mark 2. A lot of their exchanges on missions have Garrus talking down to Grunt, but I think there is a developing affection there (his comment about getting Grunt laid, while part of that snarkyness, is very brosome, and after Grunt discovers his hate, he specifically says he doesn't hate Garrus. I imagine he'd have to care in order to make that distinction, Shepard's clan or not)
Thane and he would probably have a mutual respect deal going on, but I don't think either of them would drop the cool professionalism long enough to really 'bro'. I think there is professional admiration there (and perhaps a little friendly rivelry). They have an easy banter on missions.
Jack and he would not get on, IMO. She is a crazed criminal, he is a little bit too snarky for either of them to bother giving each other the time of day.
I like to think that Garrus and Mordin get on. In my headcannon, it's Garrus who tells Mordin about his relationship with Shep as part of his 'research', and I think that takes a degree of trust. Kasumi says something like 'the rumor is Garrus really likes you', so even if the flirting attracted the attention of the rest of the crew, in order for Mordin to know that tey were def. going to have sex, someone would need to tell him.
Zaeed founded the Blue Suns. Garrus dedicated 2 years of his life to taking mercs out. This probably does not bode well for their friendship.
I don't think Garus could rectify himself with Samara and her 'code'. It might be clearly defined for her, but I think it would be well into his grey zone. He probably admires her, but I can't see them conversing much. For her part, she isn't really the 'social' type.
I'd say he distrusts Legion. He warns you off taking him (and is snarky when you take him anyway). He's seen too many Geth to accept one so easily. I think he is only OK with Legion so far as he trusts Sshepard, not the Geth itsself.
I am never sure what to make of him and Tali. He seems to wind her up a bit, but for her part she seems to not really like him. I'd say he feels a cameraderie with her for 'old times', but she finds said snarkyness a turn off.
Persoanlly, I don't think Garrus spends a lot of time socialising with anyone on board. Losing his entire team makes him wary of trusting people even more. Shepard really is his only proper friend, because s/he is all he will allow himself to have.
Anyway... those are some musings I had. That's just my opinion, though. No need to go spreading it around.
@Xsause. Very cute fic. It makes me laugh to think of Garrus looking out an old Turian fairytale and reading to to Shep. She'd probably be like "Um, yeah, what are you doing?"
@Cerrydd. You have a social life IRL? Pft. YOU DON'T BELONG ON THE INTERNETS!
@Soltana: What was the verdict on Beverly Hills Chiwawa?
Man, I've had to catch up loads. I was at work today, and we had crayons out, and I was doodling, and it turned into Garrus (a terrible Garrus. I cannot draw) and this 10 year old was like 'Hey - Garrus!', and then drew another Garrus which really put mine to shame. I got well pwned! (I also made a bunch of paper boats with paragon and renegade symbols on them. The MEers at my work laughed at me and pointed out I may have a problem...)
