I don't hate it. But if it is there for healing, it would make sense for it to eventually get switched out/removed.
I wonder if his default armor will be fixed in the next game.
It better be fixed. The only reason I could think off that it wouldn't be fixed would be that Shepard has no money to pay anything or to anyone ever since he left Cerberus. That reminds me of Starcraft 2

I
sure hope so. Taking on the Reapers in the final battle in broken armor
is silly.
Shepard: Goddammmit Garrus! Get yoruself
some new armour, for jebus sake! You're making us all look bad.
Garrus:
Sorry, Commander. I - I thought you liked the 'battle worn' look. Men with scars, etc.
Shepard: Men with scars = sexy. Men who can't afford/be bothered to get their damn armour fixed, despite the fact that their primary function in the universe is as an elite soldier = no wonder they got scarred in the first place! ******!

I think instead of new armour, Garrus got a respray, 'Pimp my Ride' style.

I prefer the idea that they simply have the minds of ten year olds and said, "Lets put holes in his armor because it will look COOOOOL!!!"Ray Joel Oh wrote...

ZING! Garrus defending my (I mean, FemShep's) honor to Kaiden FTW!
It probably won't be a fist fight; Kaiden and Gar are too calm and level headed for that. I can see tension though, especially if Kaiden plans on winning Shepard back. I had an idea how it would play out. If you romanced two people, you get special scenes that play out in the early stages of the game so that you can finally choose. Once you choose an LI, that romance becomes officially canon throughout the rest of ME3 and you'll get romance scenes with that chosen character. If you didn't "cheat" you just get the canon romance scenes without the decision-making scenes.
When the past LI joins the team and you get the intro convo of that character out the way, the first decision-making scene will trigger. So let’s say its Garrus and Kaiden, there'll be an awkward moment where the old LI wants to speak with the commander and unfortunately gets on the elevator with the current LI on the way there. Depending on who the two characters in the elevator are, the conversations that take place are unique. Garrus and Kaiden for example make painful small talk to be polite, with lots of awkward silence and background elevator music just to make it worse. Once that's over with, Kaiden finds Shepard and asks to speak with her.
They talk about the mission briefly and then after a pause they have a "so I hear you and Garrus..." type conversation. Kaiden tells Shepard how he felt about her and they reminisce about their past relationship for a bit. He then asks Shepard; “If the collectors didn't attack that day... do you ever wonder what would have happened with us?" Before Shep can reply they get interrupted and Kaiden says "we'll talk later commander".
After a mission or so you then get to a chance to talk with your ME2 romance in a second decision-making scene. They tell you that their relationship with you means something but they want to make sure you still don't have feelings for the old LI.Garrus for example might say that he doesn't want to get in the way if being with Kaiden makes Shepard happy. This is your chance to respond, NOT make a decision .You can tell Garrus you want him or Kaiden. "I want you" and "I want Kaiden" will appear. Whatever you say is very important to what happens next.
After another mission you meet Kaiden again for the last decision-making scene. Kaiden asks you if you thought about what he said and then asks if Shepard still wants to be with him. If you say YES after picking "I want you" when you spoke with Garrus, he will walk in on you when you start kissing Kaiden. You will look like a jerk and you will break his heart, this will ruin whatever trust your ME2 romance had for you and will have a consequence in the game (leaves team, doesn't talk to you anymore etc).
You can keep Garrus's loyalty and break up with him if you were honest with him and choose the "I want Kaiden" option in the second scene. The break-up will be very sad but you were honest so there isn’t a consequence. The ME2 LI will stay and will still have platonic chats with you and when you kiss Kaiden after choosing him no one will walk in you. If you chose Garrus and reject Kaiden you officially close the door on the past relationship and Garrus is now your canon romance.

No money? My Shepard was rolling in cash at the end of the game. Not a gillionaire like in ME1, but still loaded.
It can't last forever, I imagine ME3 might take a few years after ME2. It doesn't matter to me as long as the crew doesn't go nuts and takes over the ship because they didn't get paid.

Take a few years? Thane would be dead by then, which isn't fair. If you pay close attention to the ending of ME2, the whole squad looks like they're looking at Shepard expectantly and will follow against the Reapers.
I suspect ME3 will be shortly on the heels of ME2. There's just no real justification for Shepard to sit around not doing anything important for another few years.

Go get thee a job at Bioware! (they are hring writers.
I would like to think that Kaiden will be slightly incredulous about Shep and Garrus.("Garrus? Really?)
I thought it would have been a cool ME2 twist that a rejected LI couldn't survive the SM (not an early stage relationship stall rejection, more along the lines of you got them to the bedroom and then kicked them out again). Makes sense they would be unfocused.
I need to curb my FemShep romances. Just to see the Kaiden/Garrus love play out every which way I am going to need 4 ME3 playthroughs. If they introduce more LIs (or the option to romance an ME1/2 LI you haven't romanced before) in ME3, it's going to take me more. And I am hoping that the final part of the trilogy will be a game of epic proportions with many more hours of gameplay than we've even had so far!
We are going to hit 500 tonight, and I need to miss it. Work in the am. Also, so far tonight I have touted Mordin sex, written mild Elcor pr0n, smutted up the Kaiden thread a little (well, not really. It's the Kaiden thread)... I think I should head to bed before I do something which embarrasses myself in front of you good people.
Good luck, Clan Vakarian!
Nitey nite.

Yeah, I think the gap between 2 and 3 will be smaller than 1 and 2. On the matter of Thane, I think they'll somehow save him, maybe some sort of Reaper tech.Collider wrote...
