Yeah, he's the only one in either game who had to walk around in messed-up armor. Then we do his loyalty mission in ME2 and we get...more messed-up armor! Yay! :P

I can just imagine the armor makers thought processes leading up to their decision to break his new armor.

I can:
"Hey, we could put extra work into this, or we could re-skin his old armor."
"They'll never fall for that."
"Hell, his old armor was always ugly...just slap some paint on there and no one'll notice."

Take a few years? Thane would be dead by then, which isn't fair. If you pay close attention to the ending of ME2, the whole squad looks like they're looking at Shepard expectantly and will follow against the Reapers.

I suspect ME3 will be shortly on the heels of ME2. There's just no real justification for Shepard to sit around not doing anything important for another few years.

Why not?  I sat around doing nothing important between ME1 and ME2. :P

I thought it would have been a cool ME2 twist that a rejected LI couldn't survive the SM

Sorry, dirrty mind flared up again. Sleep well ;)

I'm very curious how BW will write the confrontation (if there's gonna be one) in ME3. I like the suggestion made by Hyrule. I can imagine Garrus not raging when he gets confronted with the ME1 LI. But I romanced Liara, and I have no idea what to expect from her. As long as she won't hit Garrus with a biotic field so strong that his body will fit in a coffee cup, we'll be just fine. :D

That's a nice scenario, Hyrule, though I would hope the entirety of the romance arc of the third game isn't limited to (or even concerned primarily with) working out your status with your previous LI.

No that's why I want that part of the story out of the way early in the game so that the rest of it can be focused on your canon LI , that's the important bulk of the plot. I'm thinking it should get resolved after a few missions at the start (the scenes are spaced out) and the rest of the game will focus on  you and your soulmate.  Those scenes should only be a brief part of the romance as the people who DIDN'T romance two people would feel cheated.

Well, that'd be the ultimate love-life self-destruct.  Because there's no way that I'd let Liara live if that happened. D:

Also, I see what you saw there.

I would take this opportunity to point out to all the people proposing a physical fight that:

1) There's no way a physical fight would happen between the two LIs

2) 90% of the reason it would never happen is every other LI knows they would get completely curbstomped by Garrus's superior reach.

I think Liara will take it graciously. She is, after all, a, slightly pining for another and b, going to outlive Shep by a milenia anyway.

I'm not asleep yet. I'm in work in 5.5 hours, but we are sooo close to 500, and the forum just came alive. lol

I'm not sure how Garrus would handle rejection in ME3. He takes it so hard in ME2, and the ME1 LI kind of implies they are over Shep....(well, not 'over', but they accept that people move on)

EDIT: My, we are a flithy minded thread. ;)

Maybe he'd be a match for Mordin's flexibility.

Though that brings to mind some disturbing implications.

I'll support this, too. I didn't really care of Garrus in ME1 but the character was a lot more interesting in ME2 for sure.

Agreed about him being even better in ME2, Piddlestick (although I respectfully dissent on caring for him in ME1).

And Ray, don't make me play the cupcake card.

Well, I'm not sure about Liara. She seems kind of obsessive over Shepard in both ME1 and ME2 ("I just couldn't let you go"). She is a gracious lady, but she's changed a lot since that thing with the SB. I don't think there will be a physical fight, but maybe she won't take it lightly.

Rejecting Garrus in ME3 would probably be worse. In ME2, he's happy something went right for once. Turning him down in ME3 would be extremely disappointing for him, I think.

I'm not going to sleep tonight. lol.

Someone just posted something comparing Conrad Verner to Archangel, and I couldn't help but think: what if after Shepard returns to take her place in the galaxy again, Conrad still wants to right wrongs, and so goes to Omega and takes on the 'Archangel' mantle? (not for game real, but for the specultive lol).

Garrus: My reputation. All my hard work... everything my squad died for... and you've been helping Eclipse deal Red Sand to orphaned Batarian school-girls?!

Conrad: But they told me it was a vitamin programme.

I don't even want to think about Garrus' rejection scene in ME3. The only people capable of such a thing without batting an eyelash smack puppies and kittens with newspapers. For fun. Oh I have a feeling the dumping scene is gonna be BAAAAD.

Edit: Janey, that scenario cracked me up. LOL! Oh just thinking about it...Image IPB Conrad, you idiot.

Soltana, if I ever saw that scene my eyes would asplode from misery. I just couldn't even watch it out of curiosity. Heck, I can't watch the one in ME2!

Well, I guess we know how he handles betrayal from ME2, though it's not of the romantic variety.  While the ME1 love interest had two years of closure, Shepard could have easily picked up where she had left off just due to the fact that she couldn't have perceived the passing of said two years.

Whether that's necessarily a consideration on the part of the love interests, I don't know.  I can imagine that that might exacerbate any trust issues that existed, though.  Being a rebound sucks.

Sort of a shameless plug (Okay fine blatantly a shameless plug), but I thought I'd just link a little something I wrote here. It's an affectionate parody of ME2. I declare this on topic because Garrus has got more lines in it than any other character but Shepard!

I don't know...

The rest of the LIs for Shepard are pretty squishy in comparison to Garrus. How's he supposed to get a decent grip on them?

COINCIDENTALLY...

+ 1 more for Garrus as a krogan female heartthrob - not only does he have scars, but he's not as squishy which means he provides good grip. I have therefore come to the conclusion that everyone who romanced Garrus is part krogan.

So in a smackdown for krogan female amor, Garrus would win.

DOHO.

Yes. It may be ones of those thing which no amount of 'science' will ever bring me to follow thorugh on.

Garrus: I never thought I would feel this way again, Shepard. I mean... I never thought there was any way in this whole universe that I could be happy. But that night we spent together - I feel so silly now, thinking about what a dork I was. I just never expected we two would fit together so well. Would find something so... right. Thank you. I lo-

Shepard: Yeah... about that. Kaiden is back. He wants to give it another shot. I know, I know. I can't believe it either. Look, Garrus. That night we spent together was great. It was speical, sure. But it was once night. I was on the rebound, and now, y'know... Kaiden. But we're cool, right? You'll be here if I need you?

Garrus: I - uh - *deflated* Yes, Shepard. I'll be here if you need me.

Walks out slowly while Shep makes out with Kaiden (or Liara).

EDI: Commander. It seems Officer Vakarian has launched himself from the airlock.

:crying: Wow - that got mean spirited when I was aiming for depressing.
