I don't know. Elites are pretty awesome. I mean something about a white or yellow elite charging at you with a plasma sword is pretty freaking terrifying and badass. And the Arbiter is freaking awesome beyond a doubt. And I'm pretty sure an elite could take on a Turian... Actually it be a pretty even fight, although elites are bigger than turians, so I guess they have the upper hand.

Personally, through my gaming experience I've found that Elites are much more formidable foes than turains... Although you never really get to take on a clan of turians in Mass Effect, so I guess I haven't really fought turians.

However, I've always wondered who'd win in a fight between Garrus and the Arbiter... That would be legitimately intense.

Although there's definitely no debate on the fact brutes fail at life.

...Spehs mareenz lulz.

So I guess this is my Warhammer post, huh? You playing Dawn of War (which is technically ME-related! Cyrus is Grunt, after all), or tabletop? Turians vaguely remind me of the Imperium (Archangel's aquila made me do a double-take), but that's probably because they both draw from Rome.

Relatedly, I'm still thinking about Persona/Arcana stuff. For those of you who haven't played it, in Persona a main character has an Arcana (one of the 22 major arcana from tarot cards) that represents their character arc, either ironically (a rebel worried about his feminine interests is Emperor, which usually has to do with order and traditional masculinity/father figures) or more straight-forward (straightlaced workaholic father is Hierophant, which tends towards rules and authority). I was thinking that I'd peg Garrus as Emperor, slightly ironically (since he dislikes authority and he's sort of living in his father's shadow), but his desire to fix things also pushes him towards it. But even with an Arcana, he still needs a Persona...

So, are there any mythological figures/gods that remind you at all of Garrus? Origin doesn't matter.

fffff i hope nobody ever needs to borrow my sociology notes because I have a bunch of human!Garrus and ME dating sim mockup doodles

@charles shepard - Damn, I hate how hard I laughed at those... friggin ICP...

@moonboots - Oh, I was just referencing the fact that I said "ooh-rah." Because Shepard is/was a marine. In space. S/he's a space marine. XD And oh lawd I have Dawn of War waiting for me when I get home from my trip.

Re: Elites VS. Turians
Are the Sangheili (Elites) taller than Turians...? Master Chief is supposedly 7 feet tall (don't quote me on that, I don't remember where I heard it). Arby is about the same height. So how tall are Turians?
But...yeah. The early concept Sangheili especially look similar to Turians. However, I do not find them as appealing as Turians. So, due to that bias, I think a Turian could totally kick Elite ass.

Must see to believe :o

human!Garrus reminds me...I was messing around with the Sims 3 the other night (I know. Shut up.) and tried to make a sim with similar personality traits as Garrus. Which you can totally do (unlucky trait lol). I never actually ended up playing the game with that sim, but it was "fun" customizing all the clothes to be the same colors as his loyalty armor. I made him bald. Garrus with hair just...seems wrong to me (but really, all the hair cuts were too ****ing ugly).

I have never played Halo. Am I a bad person now?

I'm in the train right now, just had my job interview. "So, what are your hobbies?" "I love Gar- errr... I'm a gamer."

You like to right wrongs and fight injustice whereever you may find it! You are an advocate of both reach and flexibility, and on your down time you like to partake in some full contact sparring, which you feel is important for blowing off steam.

You should try playing halo, if you like FPS games then you're definitely going to enjoy halo, IMO halo is a harder and more intense game than ME 2 gameplay wise (getting sniped by a jackal the moment you step out of cover is really annoying)

and its not a problem if you say you like garrus in a job interview, my cousin said she liked garrus in an interview a while back and coincedentally her boss was also a garrus and ME fan, so she got the job immediatly

Im pretty sure fighting eliten on legendary is MUCH harder than fighting turians on insanity

IMO at close range, the arbiter can beat the C**P out of garrus (energy sword and active camo FTW)  but at long range garrus will definitely snipe the arbiters head off (scoping and dropping)

and yes,  brutes DO fail at life

If saying "I love Garrus" would immediately get me a job, I would take it. Even if means working as a trashwoman. Because seriously, working for a boss who enjoys playing ME is almost as badass as Garrus.

Goldfish update: it's still alive, but it won't eat the new food I bought. So I think it will be dead in a couple of hours.

With some light Facebook stalking, I discovered that my department's managing designer at my last internship was a Stargate fan.  Wasn't something I took advantage of to obtain employment, but it made for some interesting conversations at times.  I wish that Facebook had a favorite video games field, it would make vetting new employers easier... PSH.

... sorry about your fishy.

Haha yeah, I can imagine shared interests in things like that produce interesting conversations. Garrus fangirl as a boss would be so much win. Or just a boss who plays ME. Methinks those are rare.

No need to feel sorry about fishy. I'm not going to cry if this one dies too (at least, I think so :P). I get attached to animals way too fast. More importantly, it's extremely annoying that the first fishes I ever had in my own house die that fast.

Oh well, at least my hamster Urdnot Wrex is still alive.

If you ask me I'd say it's better to not have played halo well at least the multiplayer. That's the game that made me quit shooters and go to RPGs. It just has the biggest collection of morons, perverts and cheaters of any game ever made. Besides it's not as long or as interesting as Mass Effect.

lol. I had a brief liason with Halo after hearing about how it is 'TEH BEST GAME EVAR!' from, well, everyone. I'm not a massive FPS person to begin with (moar story, pls?), but I found the online componant of it to be just awful. Like, really, really irritiating. (espeically if you are a girl - all you get is "Oh, you're such a boy pretending to be a girl. You have a stupid high voice. You're gay, you are." etc, etc. It's terrbily depressing. )Moreover, whenever you actually play well and kill someon, they down your rep and spam you hate-msgs. Some of the spamming that goes on borders on impressive: I was once forced to listen as 2 (I assume teenaged) guys 'masterbated' throughout a playthrough. Now I'm fairly sure they were just hitting their microphones weirdly, but either way they kept this up for the best part of an hour. That is stamina no matter which way you throw it! lol
I switched onto the single player, but the lack of interesting story (plus the fact that is is a crazy short game, which gets frustratingly repetitve) made me think 'meh.' I am not a Halo person. lol But, each to their own. What makes me laugh is the amount of people who have re-recommended it to me since ME2 came out (But you love Mass Effect 2, so if you like shooters, you'll love the best shooter ever!). Maybe it's 'cos I'm an RPGer, but I've always seen ME as an RPG game at it's core, with the combat containing lots of strong shooter elements. I realise that there are lots of people (in my experience, more FPSers) who view ME as a shooter with elements of RPG in it. I think that's why it has such wide appeal. However, it's worth remembering this whenever someone recommends a game to you on the basis that you like Mass Effect: which side of the lien do they fall? lol 9incidenrtly, this is also where a lot of the tension comes in between players griping that there isn't enough character based stuff for an RPG, vs the people who complain that the combat is 'too easy'. They are comparing it to two different game types)

But you should give Halo a shot. You may like it. Each to their own, and all that. Image IPB

I have loverly new headcanon for FemShep Garrus which I am totally going to bring into force this evening in my game (damn you work... lunch hour nearly over). I've always had a slight issue with Shep's come on to him. I do understand why she chooses Garrus (the trust thing), but it's quite... out there. Especially considering the implications it has towards her friendship with him. Enter Kasumi and her minibar! Image IPB Now FemShep is goign to get well smashed before heading to the main battery to talk to her best friend, only to find herself splurging a proposition when the subject inadvertently turns to sex. It will also explain away her sexy FemShep voice and leer. lol Yay!

Still reading Revelation and Saren is just plain evil. In the game he's doing what he thinks will stop the Reapers from destroying everyone, but in the book he beats the crap out of anyone who looks at him funny. One part that stands out is when he's facing a dying turian merc questioning why he's selling weapons to humans after what happened with the First Contact War, and the merc says "That...war...is...over." right before Saren kills him. He just can't let go of a grudge despite that other turians have.
