The images. The images! ::brain scrub::

I wasn't really attracted to Kenneth's physical appearance (as I've said before, humans in ME look kind of wonky), but imagining him as Carson Beckett or the new Simon Pegg Scottie... My Shep would totally go for that.

An accent makes anything better.  Same with turian flanging.  <3

Oh definitely. Though if Kenneth was modeled on a real Scotsman, this would probably be my first choice. >_> <3

::ahem:: Back to Garrus!

@silentstephi: Much about turian anatomy seems incredibly difficult to clothe. For instance, the collar... It seems like changing in and out of things must be a trial for a turian, maybe that's the real reason why people rarely see them out of their armor! ;)

I put my trust into what I've seen Cerberus do with Reaper tech, not what their potential intentions are for it. I am prepared to accept the consequences and I actually hope they are big - unlike the decision to save the council or let them die (well, as far as what we have seen in ME2, anyway). The Normandy SR-2 uses parts from Sovereign and EDI has yet to go all demonic on the crew and say "I am the vanguard of your destruction."

...or maybe I just spent the whole time in ME2 being indoctrinated...

Hm...Something Garrus related...Garrus told me to keep the base. So there. XD

Edit:
@Aris - Great. Now I won't be able to even look at Kenneth without imagining a Doctor Who scarf around his neck. Where's your police call box, hm, Donnelly? If that's your real name...

Doctor Who?!

I'm sorry, I couldn't stop myself. That's a terrible pun. And this is my choice of scotsman.

I don't remember Garrus disagreeing with me for saving the council, in fact i don't even remember him advising me to take any renegade option, that was Wrex's job.

I had him and Kaiden.  Garrus told me it was more practical to let them die.

I disagreed.

It is time to steal back ME 1 from my friend then, mass effect 2 makes me want to play the first one differently just to see what would happen.

I keep TRYING to bring different people, but it always ends up Kaiden and Garrus.

Actually, it just makes me wonder where the damn latch/zippers are located.

In ME1 I seem to recall Garrus's legs being much thinner than they are in ME2.  And am I also the only one who thought that his groin area seemed to be much higher than where a human's would be located?  During the romance scene (I swear I wasn't trying to stare at his crotch, but watch from 00:35secs) I remember thinking "Er, Garrus, I see you brought the wine but did you forget to bring your penis?!".

Also, for MY Scotsmans.

Good thing Garrus isn't real.  About 3/4 of the people on this thread would be chasing after him, trying to get in his pants.  And I'd be saying, "Look, man, I'd let you shelter here, but they'd just tear the place down trying to get to you.  And I can't lose my computer to fangirls.  Sorry.  But I can drive you to the nearest police station maybe?  Er, except you might tear up my car with all those spikes... Hm."

Maybe Turians have velcroed clothes, or snappies. Imagine just giving a good tug and Garrus's clothes are on the floor.

Gah but then things like this lead me to thinking, "Well, why do they need clothes anyway?"

We wear clothes because (and this is just me guessing, I have no relivent degrees in whatever science this is, I'm just tossing this out there)

We have no fur? (best heat sink system on the planet)
We have tender bits that need protection?
Mobility?  (Have you tried running w/out a bra when you're a D?)
So we don't start shagging everything in sight?

So, why do all the aliens wear clothes?  Is it because otherwise we humans who play this game would get squidged out if there were naked aliens running around? (Which technically, the Hanar do, but they look like jellyfish so no harm in that I guess.  OMG JELLFISH PR0N! /noooz!)

Idea my fiance had. Does fringe length equate umm... reach for Turians? Kind of like how big hands and big feet are for humans?

I recall someone mentioning that Turians lack fat. So perhaps Turians wear clothes (ones that look bulkier than their their bodies, really) because they are cold. Wow...for some reason, that just...seems so cute to me.

Other than that, I would attribute aliens wearing clothes to humility.

Turians might have special beds that accommodate for their leg spikes and fringes. When using human beds, I'd assume that a turian would be comfortable enough sleeping on his/her side.

Probably for the same reasons humans do.  Modesty, for starters.  There are some things no one wants to see.  Then, in the case of turians, they are from a very warm/hot homeworld.  Places with a temperature comfortable to humans would likely be cold to a turian--and we don't even know if turians are warm-blooded (as far as I am aware).  I'm thinking that turians also wear clothing for modesty reasons, though.  If male turians use urinals (here's looking at you, scene that happens if you make Shepard overindulge in alcohol), and know that the groin is the place to strike on a male human (really, Garrus, did you have to get Harkin where it hurt?), then I'd tend to assume that their private parts are located in the same general area as those of humans.  Aside from this being reasonably good evidence  in favor that Garrus and Femme-Shep do in fact have sex if you romance Garrus, they'd probably want to cover those parts of their anatomy to keep other turians from staring.  I'm also assuming that male and female turians look relatively similar at a glance to humans (they probably have approximately the same torso build as they evolved from avians, which tend to have a large breastbone to hold the muscles that power flight), but they may also be covering up secondary sex traits.  For instance, those spurs on their legs might be one such trait--which would be why they always put clothing over them, much the same as the majority of women don't run around topless in the real world.

I'm... not really sure why asari would wear clothing, except to look pretty, unless they too come from a very warm homeworld.  After all, there are only female asari and they probably all look alike to one another, just as everyone apparently sees them as their own species (must be able to put some kind of mental suggestion into other species' heads--not sure how).  I wouldn't think modesty would be a real issue to asari.

Drell seem to be built physically much the same as humans, though of course their "modesty" needs may be different--I've seen no evidence in their case and I haven't romanced Thane yet.  In any case, it looks more like Thane is wearing clothing to show off than to cover anything.  His clothes are tight and sleek and probably considered fashionable in the ME universe.  So he's covering himself up while showing everything off.  All the more reason to believe my theory that Thane is really out lookin' for love in his final days.  Shepard's just convenient!

The elcor don't wear much clothing, but they all wear pants.  Once again I'm assuming for privacy and decorative reasons--if they need no more clothing than that, then they have no other reason to be wearing it.

I realize this has already been discussed but I need to put in my two cents. Keeping the base is the stupidest thing you could ever do. Why? Because the reason the reapers always win is because organics use the mass relays and the citadel causing their technology to evolve on the path the reapers want.

The collector base is reaper technology, meaning that if we use it we are stil evolving the way the reapers want us to so they can control us through their technology. I wouldn't be surprised if saving it caused really nasty repurcussions in ME3.

Well, remember the derelict reaper you got the IFF from?  Dead and broken, it still managed to indoctrinate all those scientists.

Yea, I figure it's for the modest/warmth reasons.  It's interesting too that the more "civilized" a culture becomes, how clothing is just always there.  Not sure if civilization = clothing or anything...  Yea, I do remember that whole bit about their sun and the reason they have the armor plating, so you would think that anything that would be a tender bit would have it's own sort of death ray protection...

I'm going out on a limb here to say this, and like my comment about Garrus having problems with fans (I meant that as a joke, in case anyone takes offense--I only realized after posting it that I might have come off as being a butthole rather than joking), it may come off wrong.  However, I really doubt that we'll get to go to Palaven in ME3 or get to meet Garrus's dad.  The closest to Garrus's father I think we'll meet is that turian in ME1 who was in charge of C-Sec (I forget his name and title, but he had an office all to himself).

Even if we do go to Palaven, I really hope that doesn't mean a bunch of half-naked turians running around, and I really doubt that they'd be as attractive to look upon as many of you presume.  But then again, I don't find them particularly attractive in the first place (as awesome as Garrus is  and as much as I'd wanna be friends with someone like him--just not friendly enough to get myself arrested due to his hijinks, thanks).  Therefore, it's possible I may be wrong.
