Actually, I'm the opposite. xD I would totally fail with PC controls. I also got so used to the controls for Mass Effect that I just tried to use them in DAO: Awakening today.-M- wrote...
Mass Effect is actually the first shooter game that I really played because the version I have is for the PC. I realized when I tried my hand at the first Mass Effect game on the 360, my aiming was horrible.;; Mrs. Vakarian (I love your display name so much, btw) I envy your for your console shooter skills.
Also, my Shepard has one thing to say about Mass Effect Survivor...
Shepard: Garrus, with all those calibrations, you can't fix the ship? D:
*ignores the pics, looks away, and hopes a mod takes care of it soon... hopefully without thread lockdown* >_>;

It's okay, drunken, we don't judge other threads because of one or two people. /paragon hug
I need more to drink. That was just... /twitch I died in game because I was worrying about the thread getting locked and thus wasn't paying attention to the dratted Collector General-whatever. I'm used to dying once or twice on Horizon, esp since this is my first Insanity attempt... but I wasn't even at the dratted end. Blaaaaaaaah /grumbles

I played Halo Co-Op with friends and have a great time. For some reason, the other two can't compare. Might just be nostalgia though.
All three have a different feel

I don't know whether to laugh or burn my bra. XD
In the spirit of Girl Power, Hubby and I finally finished our respective insanity PTs on ME2. We tallied our deaths and my vanguard vs his infilitrator died a whopping 35% (rounded up) less than he did. It made him cranky so he went and tightened all the lids of all the jars of condiments in the house.

*nods* I know exactly what you mean. Acknowledging female gamers does not mean pink it up and sparkle it with glitter. Our reasonable complaints are also not a demand for games to concentrate solely on women either, it's really asking to level the playing field a bit more. I love gears of war for example; it’s great for the mindless-beefy-grunty-fun time I have playing a huge goon with a chainsaw gun. I would never want them to change the tone of the game, just to maybe give me an option of playing a female solider, that's it. So fingers crossed for the third instalment.
Also "female-focused" games aren't crap because the typical female gamer's idea of a good game is crap. They suck because of the recycled gender stereotypes that are used to create them. You'll also find that those types of games are marketed to young girls. I worked in in one are two game stores during college and you get parents asking you what would be a good game for their girls. So I ignore the gender and would point them towards titles that got good reviews and ones that I thought were awesome. Sometimes they would ignore what I said and reach for something pink and say "This is for girls isn't it?” I'm surprised I never face-palmed in front of them.
I grew up during the retro era (snes, Genesis, n64 etc) so I never encountered this rubbish. Back in the day, there wasn't any third party developers cranking out poorly developed Barbie games so I was able to form my opinion of games on their quality and not whether or not it was a "girls game".
When I used to work at Blockbuster, I openly did facepalming during situations like this.
I also remember perusing the DS section at a game store when a parent asked me what game would be good for their young kids (why me? I clearly didn't work there...but ok). I recommended stuff like Scribblenauts and Professor Layton but they picked up one of those Disney games (That's so raven? Hannah Montana? Suite Life?). I don't really have anything against Disney's choice in TV programming, but their games are terribad.
In the mean time, I'mma keep drinking Mountain Dew.

I always liked that turians had a few physical qualities that we usually see as feminine; narrow waist, defined hips, bulging chest (didn't really think about that until I saw that pic and realized that Garrus is forced to cross his arms under his chest protrusion...thaaaat's familiar), but it's not something that ever really comes to mind unless you're thinking about the parts in an isolated manner. Really shows what you can do with some good art direction and backstory.
Yes, interesting...how we could see all those "so-called-feminine" qualities and still find Garrus to be sexy and virile (well, I can't speak for everyone, but for me I say that, and I feel safe speaking for Flammie also...LOL)
