blueL: Just as Flammie is our mascot, you are now our art slave! Accept your place of honor, or else! :P

FemShep relationships: IRL, I'm not the pursuer type. IN ME, my FemShep getting to pursue Garrus is WIN. Putting him on the spot and watching him get all nervous has made true the mantre, "Start new game to pursue other romances. Romance Garrus anyway." I did try to lead Jacob on for the cuttlebone comment this time, but wound up in the Friend Zone. O_o. Heeey, Garrus....

Ashley: I didn't like her my first PT. Then on my Garrus-only PT decided to actually, you know, TALK to her. Now she's my BFF. Bye, Kaidan. I didn't mind you, either, but this is gonna hurt me less than I thought.

Whining: Yeah, I tell you, Garrus' whole squad gets killed and he helplessly watches the last two of them die and then gets holed up and faces his certain death and is only barely saved and takes a rocket to the face and afterward all he can talk about is revenge. What a WHINER.

Seriously, though, I don't get it. Really trying to keep an objective POV, Garrus is one of the characters that least lets the crap he's been through affect him. That's not to say really any of the characters DO. The only two with less emotional baggage are Mordin and Jacob. Mordin's a Salarian so it comes naturally (and he's not an LI so he's not gonna get the "my LI is awesome so all other LIs suck!), and Jacob actually takes crap for it (it makes him come off as 'boring' or 'standoffish'.)

Thanks AngryFrozenWater! Gawd, all of these awesome sigs....it gets so hard to choose!

Plus, Garrus always believes in you and rejoins you as soon as he knows you're alive. No questions. He's in, and by your side no matter what. If that kind of enduring, steadfast friendship isn't a good solid basis for a lifetime love, what is?

QFT. I'm on PT6, and I have exactly one (1) PT where I did not romance Garrus....Image IPB And even then I had to force myself to flirt with Kelly to have something to do that wasn't romancing Garrus. It actually made me sad after talking to him about sparring, having him tell me he knows I'd kick his ass and then never speaking to me again. Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB

I tried going for Thane once, but suddenly they were holding hands and getting all gooshy and I....I couldn't do it. And with Jacob I totally blew it because it was either talk to him like a real person or like a cat in heat.

I know. I've made a pass where I have romanced them all at least once, but with Jacob... I had to dump him then pick things up with Garrus again. I have one playthrough where I was loyal to Kaiden, and I basically just didn't speak to Garrus after his LM - it was too hard!

I mean, the option just sits there. Hovering in paragon. Begging you to select it...

@BlueL. A sketch you posted on another thread indicated that YOU TOO have a 'Toshie' as a lappy. This makes me glad. :D

I just romanced Thane. I only managed to do so because I avoided Garrus like the plague right after his loyalty mission. Really, when I get to that "reach and flexibility" conversation, I just have to push that "We could ease stress together" option.  It's an annoying habit of mine.

But anyway, going to romance Garrus again in the NG+...either him, or Jacob. (haven't tried romancing him yet, but from looking at the comments, I'm not sure I really want to.)

Hey everyone. No Garrus at school. Though him walking into the middle of my lesson would be AWESOME!

My French exam was tough, anyway.

Your drawings are epic, really are. And you make Garrus look so primal... and sexy.

Haha, I love that, you've also made Soltana look so evil ^_^

You look the same as fishing rod girl in the "Garrus Bait Hunt" pic...probably just association by glasses. I love how quickly you're pulling these out, too.

Soltana's always evil. She threw a Safari Ball, me, and a rock at Garrus.

And
just like the fact that aynxalot suggested it and pushed me into it,
I've had to go along with being the mascot and Garrusbait.

Yeah, you better do it. It's for the better. (They've stuck a shocker under my uniform! aynxalot has the control pad! Help me! BAWK!)

(Be the art slave, save me, and I'll save you, deal? I know how Soltana's rope-stuck-to-a-spiked-collar works and is broken, but I can't get this shocker off)

The thing with Thane's romance is that it makes a dramatic, empty leap from 'let me tell you about my dead wife" to "I want you, Thane". Kind of feels like one of those movies where a widower has photos of his tragically dead wife all over his house and the new wife is supposed to live with that.

I have a scanner now, though, but I'm still scared to even try to draw a turian. Even as neat an idea for a pic I have... :( It's been a while since I've drawn at all.

RPGmom28: That's the best summary I've read of that romance, ever. On the outside, you think "Well, he loved his wife, he'll never forget her." On the inside, it feels like, "How do I ever measure up to that?"

Plus, it moves so much faster....Garrus, we got to build up to. It feels more realistic and natural. I know the whole game is actually supposed to take place over some months (travel time, natch), but when you can finish the whole darn thing in a couple of days, it's hard to not feeel weird going from mutual respect to BAM! "not-love." I see what you did there, BW- "It's too soon to call it love." Uh-huh. But won't be long now, amirite? :P

Anyway, speaking of Garrus, I took some advice from the "What characters to take with you on what missions" and, save for Samara's comment on the varren fights on Tuchanka, it is not "impressive". I just can't quit you, Garrus. ^_^

And I'm back... woke up at 5 PM. I feel like an incredibly lazy student. I am, actually. lol

FemShep taking the lead: I don't really care. In fact, I don't even know what I do myself IRL. I have a tendency to constantly flirt with everybody, but not because I'm interested or something. That's why I took all the flirty options with all three LI's in my first PT. It didn't take long to choose when I was aware that Garrus was really a LI :). Oh man, that first reach and flexibility story... Thinking back still gives me that OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMFG RLY?! feeling.

Other characters and hate: There is only one I really hate, and that's Morinth. But I don't think that's a big surprise. She's evil ><. I don't hate or dislike any other person, it's more that I feel indifferent to some of them. Virmire was a complete fail for me, because I felt exactly the same about both Ashley and Kaidan; ok, you're there, but I don't really care. So I always forget who I Virmire, making it a surprise who I'll run into on Horizon. Wrex and Garrus were my favourites, so if I had to choose one of them on Virmire, it would be a lot harder for me.

Whining: Really, I don't understand why Garrus could be called a whiner. He does rant a lot about the red tape and C-Sec and not getting things done there, but I think it's part of Shepard's job to show him other ways to get things done. He's a little naive, but he just wants to do the right thing. You can't blame him for that. I really hope his personality will be complete in ME3, depending on how you mentored him in the first 2 games.

Other (femShep) LI's: I don't think I'll ever do a PT romancing someone else. Garrus is just too hard to resist. So let me repost this advice, because it's the truth:

About the mentor thing. You were more of a mentor in the first game. The second game you were much more of a close friend to him. I just wished they added more dialouge for Male shepard cause we did not get jack crap out of garrus after the sidonis incident.

I agree that the first game was more mentor-student and the second more real friends. But I see the paragon route in his loyalty mission as another last lesson. If you kill Sidonis, it's more like "I trust you to think this is the right thing to do".

I'm quite conservative a lot of the time. Though I'm only 15. Though there are too many people my age around me who flirt. So I dunno.

It's a shame that maleShep doesn't get as much dialogue out of him, I guess, and femShep's still a little limited. Maybe Bioware couldn't think of relevant things to make him say, I dunno. But yeah, more dialogue.

Interesting... and I was supposed to be helping you from being an art slave if you helped me with the shocker?

We seem to have a lot of "Official" people around here.

True. Also, Garrus is comfortable expressing his frustration with Shepard's guidance if you Paragon him. It lends a realistic touch to their rrelationship- people don't always agree or get along, even if they're longtime friends/lovers. In the first game, with Saleon, if you try to arrest instead of kill him you get the whole snippy "So he dies anyway. Can you tell me what was the point of all that?". IN ME2, it's "I appreciate the concern, but I'm not you." I actually enjoy those parts, because it's a chance to have some real discussion rather than just telling him "Don't kill people if you don't have to" and Garrus saying "Oh, okay."

ETA: That was one thing that surprised me about Jack's loyalty mission. When she goes to kill Arresh, if you go Paragon you only have to tell her once not to kill him. I'd expected a bit of "But I reeeaaally want to kill him!", especially since she's an LI.

I'm very happy he will express himself when he's disagreeing with you. It would be kind of dull if you said "Don't kill him" and he'll just nod and smile. Voicing his concerns shows he still has his own opinions and doesn't want to be your clone.

Oh, and Garrus died in the survivor poll. Now suddenly everybody is turning on Thane, even though it's a desert world where he can live just fine. I didn't think it was possible for the game to make any less sense.

No, there are real reasons for voting Thane.  Him being a dying man goes a long way, plus he's also a biotic.  Any biotic is a good choice at this stage in the game.

But Miranda has now been openly orchestrating the death of a character IN THE GAME.  Therefore she can no longer be trusted.

Yeah, the order in which people are dying is pretty messed up. Jacob going out first... wut? Morinth had to go first, she's biotic and she might kill others when she gets horny. Then all of a sudden squadmates die out of the blue, instead of voting off other biotics first. Thane is certainly dying, but drell are used to dry worlds and deserts are dry. At least, in my world :P. Voting him off because he's biotic makes sense, but not after Tali, Grunt, Wrex and Garrus are killed. I voted Miranda this time :bandit:

Like I said, she used her biotics to pull Tali's leg away from Garrus, so she must be hungry now. And I won't let her take the food away from others, mwuhahahaha.

Haters gonna hate.

And in terms of attempting to not pursue Garrus as a LI, I've modeled a Femshep after an old character I've written and established a rationale for why she might be in the 5% of people who wouldn't be all over Garrus if given the opportunity. I'll see how that pans out.
