I don't know what I'd be...the logical one? The team nerd?

Anyhoo, for those of you that play other RPGs, what class do you think Garrus would fall under? Not strictly limited to Final Fantasy, but they have a host of well-defined classes. Given his propensity for long-range non-magical damage, I'd say either dragoon or archer/ranger.

I'd pay yet more virtual money to see a blueL sketch of this.  Can you imagine...Soltana, twirling evil mustache gleefully, ties Flammie to tracks, squawking...and Garrus shows up in his Garrusmobile...but the train is gaining fast, WILL THERE BE TIME??

Tee hee. Watching Empire Records. 'Sugar High', anyone?

Edit: @moonboots.

Ranger. I think, were this a fantasy RPG, he'd be the type to have trap powers as well (tech ability and so on).

Was going to make a tasteless joke about those that romanced FemShep post mortin as Necromancer class, but decided I'm above that. :P

Hey guys

Been lurking on the thread a few days now. Loving the artwork and creative writing that "Clan Varkarian" have been putting out there - you are all awesome! I would offer to drink wine with you but it is the middle of the afternoon here...mountain dew instead, anyone?

Quick question for Clan V: What do you all think will happen with Garrus/Shep in ME3? I was giving this some thought and wondered if Bioware will do the whole "crisis moment"as in DA? Some horrible, horrible situation where you have to choose. They seem to love to mess with our tender little hearts. Or am I a bad, bad person for even suggesting that?

Edit: Did you guys know that there is apparently a song called 'liquid sugar'? I am in a communal area atm, so I can't listen to it... Therefore, may or maynot be NSFW...

Sorry. What happens when it's late and I have wine.

Mordin, Tali, Grunt and Garrus are sharing a drink on the Normandy. Garrus, in particualr, is quite drunk.

Garrus: What I don’t understand, is the lips thing.
Tali: What?
Garrus: The lips thing. That thing humans do with their lips.
Grunt: You mean ‘kissing’?
Garrus: Yeah. That. What’s with that? You know, they use those for eating!
Mordin: Actually, the primary function of lips is to shape the vocal sounds for the articulation of speech -
Garrus: It’s still weird.
Tali: You didn’t think it was so weird last night when Shepard had hers pressed up against your face. She was all over you.
Garrus: Well, I didn’t want to be rude. You know how she gets when you ****** her off.
Tali: Tell me about it. I beat her at Scillion 5 last week, she didn’t speak to me for the best part of a week. We weren’t even playing for credits.
Grunt: Yeah. She did the same to me. Just because I happened to eat a couple of her fish. They all end up dying anyway. Figure I might as well get a meal out of it.
Garrus: Oh, spirts. The fish. Those damn fish. Every single time we’re on the Citadel, she get some new ones. And who do you suppose she expects to feed them? Not her. No, not the great Commander Shepard. It falls to Chambers. And you know Chambers, she’s got lots of other…commitments. So I end up having to do it, because when the little bastards do end up belly up, she blames me. I don’t even like them! They creep me out.
Tali: Fish creep you out?
Garrus: It’s like they’re…watching me. It’s intimidating.
Grunt: Pah, Turians! Scared of some harmless swimming food. Typical.
Tali: You’re one to talk. Remember when the hamster escaped? You hid in your tank until Ken found it in the reactor core.
Grunt: That is different. Hamsters are small but they move fast. You never know where they’re going to…end up.
Mordin: Yes. Tenacious little creatures. Sharp claws. Big teeth. Will fight to the death if provoked.
Tali: Suits her.
Grunt: …How did you know I hid? I told no one.
Mordin: Cerberus bugs everywhere. This entire ship is monitored at all times. Impossible to avoid.
Garrus: Wait - everywhere? You mean, EDI monitors this entire ship.
Tali: Not just EDI. There’s a video link into the starboard cargo area. Why do you think Zaeed spends so much time down there?
Garrus: …. I’ve got to make some calls.

Trust is the lock, is the key
There's no doubt that your love's all for me
You are sweet on the tip of my tongue
You are warm like the rays of the sun

You're sweet like chocolate boy
Sweet like chocolate
You bring me so much joy
You're sweet like chocolate boy

Maybe I can write fluffy stuff....hm....

I don't know if Linkin Park's "Leave Out All The Rest" is really supposed to be a romantic song, but it reminds me of Garrus/Shep. So does Ingrid Michaelson's "Soldier."

Why don't you write racy stuff, but substiute all the NSFW words with worksafe ones? Airplane movie redub style!

Yeah, like this:

Can't say I'd be a big fan of that, even from a neutral perspective--I'm all for having to earn your happy ending, but only if there's a happy ending to actually earn. Mass Effect doesn't sell itself like the GRIMDARK GRIMDARK OF GRIMDARK, whereas DA was advertised as a 'dark fantasy', so it fit the tone there, where it wouldn't in Mass Effect. And another Virmire choice would just be repetitive.

I'll be pretty damn disappointed with Bioware if they sideline all the ME2 romances. It's one thing to shuffle the first-game ones offstage, they're coming back and new characters need their moment to shine, but if they totally ignore everyone else in favor of Kaidan/Ashley/Liara...well, the forums will implode. Not to mention it would kind of invalidate the entire second game if they ignored everything that happened in it.

Of course I heard that song... I played it a thousand times back in the days

Also, Grunt scared of hamsters = win. It's just a phase... he's still young and he needs mommy Shepard to help him get over his fear

I'd have to turn in my BioWare Fangrrrl Membership Card.  And I just got it laminated. :(
Seriously, I have trepidation about ME3.  For one thing, I am of the opinion that they couldn't possibly have made Garrus any cooler in ME2 than they did.  I loved him in ME1, but let's face it, they made him so incredibly cool and awesome and badass in ME2 (not just my opinion...those who never wanted to romance him generally feel the same way) that there's nowhere to go but down.  But I'll have faith for now.

That's a lot of effort to make Garrus' romance specifically because fans wanted it to just sideline it in the last game in the trilogy. ME3 is the end of Shepard's story. I don't think they're going to discontinue any romance.

I agree with Collider, from a practical standpoint. BW does appear to value continuity (so Tali's romance is also safe, I think).

We're happy to entertain ya :wizard:

I haven't finished playing DA yet (and I don't think I ever will), but I think I heard what can happen in the end. I'm counting on multiple endings in ME3, including the happy one. It will probably depend on making the 'right' choices. Or maybe I'm just too optimistic. :?

I've got my fingers crossed but I'm really not expecting much in the way of romances to begin with. I mean, yeah we'll get maybe an extra scene or two but in reality, I don't think we'll get much more. What of the people who didn't romance anyone? It wouldn't be fair to them to have this whole sweeping and epic romance arc. I also kind of hope they leave the romance open-ended come the final curtain call. No silly over-the-top epilogue or worse, epilogue power point. And I will rage so hard if there's no happy ending without sacrifice. If you're gonna give me a sad ending, make it so Bioware. I have no problem. If you're gonna give me a happy one and have me work for it, Okay. But no more feeling dirty and clinical about something that's supposed to be happy. I enjoyed the twist and DA's end but that doesn't mean I want to do it again.

We've probably been over this topic before, but when did you realize you were really fond of Garrus (platonically or romantically)?

When I set out to play ME1, I was like 'pfft, achievements, whatever, I play how I want'--and then I got to the Saren confrontation and the words Turian Ally Achievement Unlocked! popped up on my screen. S-so I guess I was really transparent right from the beginning orz
