I get what you mean about the Garrus love being ...expounded on by other fans. I have always loved the character, and as an LI was super excited when I discoved my FemShep could get her some Garrus love, and I'll admit that the voice is pretty sexy (have I meantioned the voice before? No? Well, that is a hot voice), but while I go giddy over games/books/movies/characters on a regualr basis, with Garrus I sort of began as a casual fan, and since being here and conversing with you lovely folks, I have become a fullblown Garrus FanGirl. In the past, I've found a lot of alien related fanfic a little silly, but now I'm like "OMG -that's pretty hot!" I think we end up encouraging one another. lol

We are a bunch of enablers.  But I think for me it switched from casually thinking "hey that's kind of hot in a really dirty and shameful way which I will never speak about out loud" to "OH HALE YES OTP FOR EVAR I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO QUESTIONS IT" as soon as I'd heard Bioware had actually gone through with it.

(those are my fav characters from ME2 in that order from Legion to Samara)

We've probably been over this topic before, but when did you realize you were really fond of Garrus (platonically or romantically)?

When I set out to play ME1, I was like 'pfft, achievements, whatever, I play how I want'--and then I got to the Saren confrontation and the words Turian Ally Achievement Unlocked! popped up on my screen. S-so I guess I was really transparent right from the beginning orz

When I first started playing when I saw Garrus at the Citadel I was...intrigued. But when I saw Garrus take out the thugs in the beginning, I was like *instantbrofist*! Had him and Wrex in my party at all times, considering I found the humans bland (its humans in space...with ALIENS, come on) and Liara didn't cut it for me.

ME2 came around and I saw Garrus again and my face literally went:O then in an instant after the mission:o.
He's like my brother from an alien mother, I just feel that close to him...
Which made the romance more awkward when I tried femshep. Awesome considering thats the kind of romance type I want to find in real life...which is really weird to learn from a video game...
Wait a second...I REALLY AM A NERD! I learn things about romance from video games!

If it makes you feel any better, I finally figured out from playing ME2 that I'm just not at all compatible with whiny and overly sensitive/emotional men like Kaidan... Of course this realization came after having to deal with the drama of breaking up with overly emotional guys <_<


BUT Garrus made it all better cause he's awesome like that... Of course Garrus has also proven to be my ideal mate... Omg I'm in love with ideals/pixels... Meh, it's pretty understandable and I whole-heartedly accept this fact XD

But maybe I'll find my Garrus one day 

Lol... I just thought about how in all the Disney princess movies everyone wants a "Prince Charming" and I now have this whole mental image of me talking with other girls and screaming and, "I DON'T WANT A STUPID PRINCE CHARMING(edit in accordance to today's society: sparkling vampire)!!! I WANT FREAKING GARRUS VAKARIAN!!!"

I can't remember if I participated in this discussion last time it came up, so...I'll post anyway.

From the start of ME1 I was interested in Garrus, but at first it was simply platonic. He (and Wrex) became my permanent squad, and over the course of the game he became the character I looked forward to talking to the most. I liked talking to everyone...but with Garrus there was this eager anticipation that no-one else gave me. About halfway through the game I had a moment where I realised "Oh Em Gee...I think I'm in love!".

At that point I was already romancing Liara, but every playthrough since I've kept myself single and pretended that I was romancing Garrus.



@Mrs Vakarian - and everyone else who doesn't want a "Prince Charming" or "Knight in Shining armour" - you may be interested in this shirt.



RE: Titles - I'd like one, but I don't think I'm useful/active enough to have one. I'm just a fail!lurker I think the only useful thing I've posted was the turian art from Kasumi's mission.

On a side note, how hilarious is it that the OP of that stupid "BIOWARE LIED" thread yesterday was the one who got yelled at by the mod when he reported it to be closed? Man that was a great thread.
