Wahey, gigantic catchup overload post.

Those were some excellent banners, Xsause.

Hmm, makes me wonder, how would they handle it if you romanced the LIs from ME1 and ME2 in ME3, instead? Or will you not be able to start them in ME3, you can only start them before, or they'll have new LIs you can start in ME3?

And, big tip for pictures you want to find: Most, if not all of the pictures posted were probably found on DA.

Welcome to the thread, zoe.garrus. Glad you could find us, and your English is fine.

And, apart from Mascot, aren't I the unofficial Garrus bait? Dunno how I feel about that. On one hand being bait isn't good, but on the other hand I bait Garrus.

Mean Girls . A long long time ago when we were talking about movies you'd like to see with Garrus, I chose Mean Girls. I looove that movie.
Yeah, that was partly the reason I was intrigued to watch it. Didn't actually get around to watching either of them, but maybe another time.

We've got so many talented artists of different arts in here... I agree with kglaser, it makes me feel obsolete.
enormousmoonboots wrote...

I don't know what I'd be...the logical one? The team nerd?

Anyhoo, for those of you that play other RPGs, what class
do you think Garrus would fall under? Not strictly limited to Final
Fantasy, but they have a host of well-defined classes. Given his
propensity for long-range non-magical damage, I'd say either dragoon or
archer/ranger.
The thinker? You do have lots of quite in-depth input on different things.

But yeah, I'd say ranger. Dragoons have a bit of long-range, but I think they've got a small bit of magic to them sometimes, and it's still pretty much close range, anyway.
kglaser wrote...

I'd pay yet more virtual money to see a
blueL sketch of this.  Can you imagine...Soltana, twirling evil
mustache gleefully, ties Flammie to tracks, squawking...and Garrus
shows up in his Garrusmobile...but the train is gaining fast,
WILL THERE BE TIME?? ../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png
This has to happen, but I don't want to pressure blueL with all this other stuff we're loading onto her, art slave or no.
enormousmoonboots wrote...

We've probably been over this
topic before, but when did you realize you were really fond of Garrus
(platonically or romantically)?
Got ME2 as with the
replacement Xbox, decided to look at what classes there were to try,
and saw they had the characters in there. Got interesting in how Garrus
looked and turians, and was intrigued, and I found out he was
romanceable and felt "huh, that's interesting, I might like to try
that,"

Then I saw his entrance in ME2, and I was "woah, he's pretty hot,"

Then I started looking up more about him, realising more about the romance intricacies and his personality.
janeym27 wrote...

I get what you mean about the Garrus
love being ...expounded on by other fans. I have always loved the
character, and as an LI was super excited when I discoved my FemShep
could get her some Garrus love, and I'll admit that the voice is pretty
sexy (have I meantioned the voice before? No? Well, that is a hot
voice), but while I go giddy over games/books/movies/characters on a
regualr basis, with Garrus I sort of began as a casual fan, and since
being here and conversing with you lovely folks, I have become a
fullblown Garrus FanGirl. In the past, I've found a lot of alien
related fanfic a little silly, but now I'm like "OMG -that's pretty
hot!" I think we end up encouraging one another. lol
Yeah, really, with most characters like Garrus I just go "yeah, he's hot, but it's not like I'm in love with him, so it's fine... right?"

Then I joined the forums and this thread, and now I'm more of a fan and Garrus lover than ever. So because of you all I'm a massive hypocrite and I'm loving it.

Alright, this is the fourth time in a row he's responded in this thread to me. I'm getting scared. I didn't know he had a weakness for chickens with school uniforms...

Hmm... maybe make him watch Meet the Parents?

I highly doubt we can romance ME1 and ME2 LIs in ME3 if you hadn't done so already. They would essentially be creating two romances per character if so, which is a waste of resources. Plus, being unable to romance them in ME3 means more incentive for new players to buy ME1 and ME2 for those romances. I'd prefer little to no new romances in ME3, seriously, end of the trilogy, let's focus on the romances we already have.

Yeah, I'd have to agree, it'd be too much bother to have a second story for ME3 romances, and I think having more new LIs in ME3 would be excessive, but y'know, just putting it out there.

I guess not including romance in ME3 for new players is a good incentive for trying out ME2 and ME1, but people may feel left out (I know, I know, they shouldn't be trying out ME3 first, especially considering it's the last of an RPG trilogy, but it does happen for assorted reasons) if they are inable to get romance in ME3, maybe moreso if they weren't or aren't able to get ME2 or ME1.

This place has definitely made my obsession worse.  I sort of expected to get sick from Garrus overload by now, or something, but it's like the more I see, the more I want.
This can't end well...but I'm enjoying the ride too much to get off. :o

Does anyone know if there is a way to make my banner bigger? I'm a total doofus about such things. As it is, it's really hard to make out the text (and I definitely want people to be able to read it!). TIA :)

Yeah, I hate to think what will happen when Mass Effect 3 finishes, and if (IF) Garrus fades away.

And, I'm afraid not... the forums seem pretty strict on sig size, and they resize pictures to do so. Eradyn very kindly make my sig smaller and still legible, but that's the only method I could imagine to make the sigs readable.

Thanks Flammie. But hmmm, it just seemed to me there was more room under the banner I have...I used to have one on top of another and it just seemed there was more room. But if the thing automatically resizes, I guess I can do nothing. Oh, well.

Yeah, I believe a picture resizes so it automatically takes up 2 lines, and the sig maximum is 3 lines, hmm... it makes me think of a possibility... hang on...

Yeah, the forums are very unforgiving with sigs. You have to pretty much design them from the ground up to retain legibility at that size.

With Flammie's, I had to remove the text, resize the image, then redo the text myself.  I added some effects to help distinguish the text, and voila.  It helped that the original text wasn't covering either of the images, too. :P

I guess it helps with those who decide to make gigantic pics their sigs, and is a lot more convenient than having to moderate everybody's sig and not allowing size restrictions.

But yeah, it's a drag,

...Wow, I never thought this would actually work. The even more stupid thing was that I was happy that I could use maths and a calculator to do this.

...But, yeah, if you're not using the third sig line, this may be a better use of space. I don't have any advanced tools, and all I used was the pretty crappy Paint, but the sig is bigger and more legible, now.

What I actually did was split the actual picture into two sections, one is two thirds of the picture (the top part) and the other third of the picture (the bottom half) (I added an extra pixel at the bottom so it would divide cleanly. Don't worry, the line is the same colour as the rest of the sig and isn't obvious). After that I just scaled everything accordingly (a sig line on the forum is 17 pixels for me, so I just worked around that.)

...It then occured to me that perhaps you don't actually need to scale the pic down horizontally, so yay, it's bigger, longer, and it fits the forums. Plus it doesn't need scaling. And because I didn't squash it down in another dimension the picture still retains some quality and legibility.
