I read somewhere that Kelly at one point comments that FemShep and Garrus would make a cute couple. Does anyone know if she really says this? And if so, when does she say it?

Thanks ^_^

P.S. That old Spice commercial made me ROFL. I can watch it over and over again and laugh every time. XD

She does, when she talks about how something about Garrus makes her want to hold him (or comfort him or something or other along those lines), if your Shep picks the "I feel the same way" type response, Kelly will say she thinks you'd make a cute couple. (I don't remember the exact turns of phrase, but that's the gist of the convo and convo choice Shep. has to make to get the comment, I'm sure someone else here can quote it more accurately, I just can't think of it exactly atm)

Edit: spelling, hope I got all the twisted letters LOL

The "make a cute couple" line comes when you are initiating the LI interest of conversation with Garrus. If you question her (say right after Archangel recruit) she only says the "I want to hold him" line, with no other statement after you say "I fell the same way".

...Huh? I thought the only way for her to talk about your squadmates was to talk to her right after you recruit them.

Yeah, she only said that in my game right after recruiting Archangel.  At the time I brushed her off 'cause as I said before, I didn't realize Garrus could be romanced!

I'm thinking of making a funny video for the romance scene. *crosses fingers* I hope it works.

My Shepard didn't get the "you guys would make a cute couple" comment from Kelly. xD Is it because she hasn't had any conversations with her aside from the professional "Is there anything I should know?" option at the end of each mission.

I've been trying to think of some songs that fit the romances for each of my Shepards. The lyrics of "Take My Hand" by Simple Plan seem to fit Shepard #2 and Garrus really well. :) Also, "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" by Shania Twain is an amusing choice for the Shepard that likes Saren. xD

Maybe I'm opening up a can of worms here but... if Garrus is just a cameo in ME3, you think that the Shep/Garrus romance will turn out to be just a fling? Somehow I suspect that will be the case, and that makes me sad, because the scenario pretty much hints that it can be/is a lot more...

I don't think BioWare would do that.

If all of the ME2 squadmates get cameos, then I imagine they'll all get bad ends and/or break up with you. Garrus decides he doesn't want to be anything more, Tali decides she belongs with her people, Thane dies, Jack goes psycho on you and disappears, etc. It would be ridiculous if some players got to continue their relationships while others didn't. I don't think BioWare would do something so unfair. ...Especially considering the rather, um, vocal fanbases of Garrus, Tali, and Thane.

Either that or you'll get to keep your relationship with them but it won't get much development, since they're cameos and all. If they do get cameos then I really hope that's the case. I think we all deserve our happy endings.

But hopefully they can all be recruited again. Or at the very least, your LI can be recruited again.

It could be more implied that there might be cold feet or Shep and him were on a vacation or just having time to themselves when she was called back for duty. Or maybe Garrus went to work somewhere else when Shepard got called back.

How could BioWare possibly cameo-ise Garrus? He's the ultimate buddy.

I get the feeling it'll end, is all. I don't look forward to that--because unless they just make Kaiden totally awesome in ME3 (and I will not forget what a jerk he is in ME2 so he'd have to just totally blow me away--plus I don't like his voice), I'd really rather Shepard be with Garrus, who clearly (by the final scene anyway) cares deeply about her and would do anything for her. He's already doing a suicide mission for her, right?

Some people are even claiming in other threads that they're hoping that if you stick with one of the three LIs in ME1 you get a more epic ending. I think that should go for if you were romancing Garrus or Tali and didn't romance anyone in ME1, if that's the case. But, all things considered, my guess is that canonly they die. On the other hand? I read someone saying that the devs mentioned something about using the squadmates from ME2. So I guess, who knows? Surely, with Garrus and Tali being so popular, they'll be in the game as long as you didn't kill them off. Forget Thane. He was created specifically to be a female romance and he reeks of it. Garrus has been awesome since ME1. I geek over Garrus even if I don't think he's hot like some of you do. If I were Shepard I'd be his best buddy ever. I'd also probably try to convince him not to do anything suicidal, including the mission, but, you know.

Another thing to fear: the use of the death of a popular character to tug our heartstrings. What if, despite saving Garrus and Tali in ME2, they die in ME3?

I just really hope we get more than a cameo, but even then it'll probably be less fleshed out than it should. I mean, how much calibrating can Garrus do?

Maybe he can do some calibrating on my digital camera so I can record this video through the cables instead of recording the tv all ghetto and stuff.

I'm afraid of them dying too.

I hope not, because BioWare shouldn't have to kill off the two most loved characters in order to pull at our heartstrings. I'd rather have a happy ending and walk away from the game satisfied instead of enraged.

Garrus needed more lines. And a post-romance comment other than wondering if they're really going to do this. 'Cause I mean... didn't they already? Or is Garrus trying to tell us something? What, you spent two hours staring at each other or it just took Shepard that long to figure out how to get Garrus's clothes off?

I got the 'cute couple' option right after recruitment, I couldn't even get Garrus's loyalty mission at that point.

Just like cameoed Wrex and ME1's love interests. Simply by justifying with the idea that they could die. I don't see any justification for Liara though, she couldn't die or any of that. I certainly hope no one gets cameoed and especially not Garrus otherwise what was the point of trying to keep everyone alive through the suicide mission. Of course I would keep Garrus alive no matter what. He's one of the characters that has less chance of getting cameoed. First because he has no where to go and not especially after what happened to him when Shepard died however I'm not saying he can't live without Shepard though, he's just not ready yet IMO plus he has all those problems and nobody but Shepard cares about those . Second there's us Garrus fans, which control the second largest character group plus Garrus doesn't have many haters unlike Tali.

I hope no one get's cameoed though and besides if all the teamates get cameoed a lot of people are going to be very angry at BioWare myself included. Maybe this might be the bonus for importing an ME2 file save, we get to keep our ME1 characters and those who start new games don't get them. That would force a lot of people to buy ME1 and ME2 just to get those characters. Let's just hope BioWare doesn't come up with some stupid excuse to exclude all the characters.

It's just a hunch that, with two games and a very positive reception, Garrus is in a better position popularity-wise than Wrex was. And they probably won't include Tali without Garrus in ME3, so he could piggyback on her popularity like that.

Garrus is one of the most popular Mass Effect characters. Both males and females alike think he's awesome. For Bioware to kill him off in ME3 or merely give him a cameo would be a bad move in my opinion.

Hopefully Bioware agrees with me.

You know, I really doubt Garrus will dump Shepard in ME3. It would be too out of character, since he very obviously wanted something deeper by the end of the romance. C-Sec and the Sidonis incident were pretty huge ordeals in his life, so it wouldn't have made any sense for him to bring them up at all if he and Shepard were just supposed to have a fling together. Nor would he have tried being so romantic (sure he was bad at it, but it's the thought that counts).

If he does leave Shepard in ME3, I imagine it'll be because he doesn't want to sully her image. Turian/human relationships are clearly looked down upon in the ME universe (otherwise Garrus wouldn't have been like "OMG THIS IS SO CRAZY" the entire time). Or something like that. I just don't think his reason would be "Sorry Shepard, I suddenly decided that I just don't feel that way about you. Later."

Either way I'd be pissed off, but one would make me less livid.

If he tries to break it off with Shepard because of her image, I'm pretty sure she won't let him go without a fight. After all she's been through I doubt she really cares what people think of her at this point.

Honestly, I think the biggest hurdle the ME3 team is going to have is coming up with how they're going to fit everyone into this world they created. Regardless of who's died in your save.

We're encouraged to get the job done and make sure our team is prepped and ready to go. Keeping people alive is VERY easy. Since finding out the secret of keeping the crew/Mordin alive, I have yet to have an ending where I have dead team mates.

Keeping squaddies alive is so damn easy. I figure most of the people who are going to import dead characters is because they want to see the difference in play with said dead character. Maybe they'll pigeon hole it where if you have at least one Tech, one Team Leader, one Biotic, one (insert whatever) alive, then THAT person can fulfill the role you'll need them in ME3. Plus, you'll have whoever you're getting back (if at all) from ME1, either Ash/Kaiden and Liara.

Hell, as much as I enjoy Thane's character, I have a feeling that Liara's friend is either going to be recruit-able or that's going to be her mission come ME3 and that'll be our new drell.

So, hopefully, I'm not proven disastrously wrong. I'm still under the impression that ME2 is the build the team to save the day game, and that they'll possibly give you new characters to fill roles in case of dead teammates from 2, but for the most part, if you have that "perfect" save, then you'll have a pleasing ME3 experience.

And if Garrus isn't there... all hell will break lose.

Is all I'm sayin'...

I doubt he cares about what others think. He's said it himself, he's a bad Turian. He believes blindly following orders that are bad is dumb. I doubt he will care about what other Turians think about him. Besides this relationship might have a positive impact if you did certain things. By certain things I mean saving the Council since it greatly increases the trust between the Alliance and the Turian Hierarchy. The relationship could be one of the first steps towards Humans and Turians forgetting about their past.

Garrus? Not in ME3?

Posted Image

He's got literally nothing else to do but tool around the galaxy with Shepard. No broken race to rebuild, no Alliance to call him back, no Shepard to save and Shadow Broker to kill (incidentally, it's doubtful Liara's drell buddy Ferron will be in ME3; it's implied he's the friend the Shadow Broker killed). Garrus has zero reason to leave Shepard.

I WILL USE ALL OF MY REACTION IMAGES TO STOP THIS POSSIBILITY. YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT, BIOWARE.
