So had anybody besides me noticed the different mandible weights/lengths on the turians? Because Garrus has shorter, skinnier mandibles than others, and I wonder if that just means he's younger or what.

I once got up at 3:00 in the morning to clean out an entire chicken house to take 3,000 chickens for slaughter.  Man, that's the hardest I ever worked in my life.  Imagine cleaning out a whole chicken house in a wheelchair...WHILE plotting humanity's demise.  Tough day.
Of course, they also expected me to cull out the sick chickens.  You know how we did that?  Cervical dislocation...look it up.

I don't know, I haven't paid much attention to it, but it's an interesting observation. Same thing with the fringes; Garrus' fringe is pretty long, the 'humans are all racist' turian has a short fringe.

I have no idea what that means (young, old, went to a 'hair'dresser?). I wish BW gave us more insight on this, but I don't think they will.

I know, I know. We are kinda still on the Garrus subject with links involving inside jokes, but I know what you mean.

I haven't actually noticed variations in mandibles before... so they have different weights and lengths? I guess it could be an indication of age, though it may also be just something genetic...

I haven't paid much attention to the mandibles, either. Now I want to go back and look at all the turians in both games and compare mandibles. hehe
I know Garrus's look cool, that's all I know for sure.

Oh come on now, let's kiss...er, peck and make up.  As long as we both love Garrus we can at least agree on one thing.

@Brass_Buckles. I noticed your posts about this yesterday. It's an interesting theory. I wonder if, from a design point of view, Garrus has shorter mandibles in order for him to appear slightly more human (as a relatable core character). But from a speices point of view, yeah - I can see that.

We've had the 'how old is Garrus' convo before, so I thnk before we could get definiitve on this, we'd need to see some turians with ages we know a little bit about.

I liked your point about big-fringe = power. Now obviously their fringes aren't going to change if the get promoted, etc, but from a social evolution standpoint, it raises interesting questions: What is considered conventionally attractive in Turian culture. Is Garrus' shorter, thinner mandibles and medium fringe a good look, or is he a tad fugly by Turian standards?

Maybe after the trilogy they'll release a game where we can choose our character's species and origin, kind of like DAO. If we play the turian origin, we can learn more about turian culture.



But I dunno, I kind of think that it might be a genetic thing. Or the mandibles get heavier and the fringe longer as the turian ages.

I'd suggest comparing the Turian councilor's fringe/mandibles and Garrus' fringe/mandibles. The former is most likely older than Garrus. Garrus is under 30.

I'd love to have something like that Brass_Buckles. I think I heard that Bioware don't plan on wasting this universe, so there will be more games after the trilogy, so yeah, more turians, and maybe more Garrus.

Yeah, we don't even know about how turians age. They may have the same lifespan as humans in terms of time, but maybe they consider a year to be shorter or longer than humans due to their planet's orbit. As said, apparently Mordin is actually 30 and Grunt is 22 in their respective race's years.

And, we don't actually know very much about what turians find attractive, the closest I can think of is Garrus' attempt to seduce Shepard, and that applies to female turians. Perhaps they're not fussy?
