I don't think a turian and a human of the same weight would be evenly matched. They would need to get some scientists on that to figure out at what weights a human and a turian are on even footing. I doubt you'd have any turians competing as heavyweights as it is, which makes me wonder what alien species would hold the title for that (krogans being far too overpowered comparitively). Sorry, DH is an MMA enthusiast and now we're having a discussion.
Garrus: His comment about Shep knocking him on his ass strikes me as more playful. Even if he thought he had a good chance at taking her (or him, for the MShep equality) down, he wouldn't say so. Still, liking strong women as I do (both physically and in personality), I enjoy the thought of Shep taking Garrus to the ground. Heh.

regaurding the purring thing I can kind of imagine a Turian purr being like the Velociraptor purrs in the Jurasic park movies, where it's not the same kind of purr as a cat's purr
but then again Jurasic park isn't the best authority on dinosaurs... still I can picture it.

Heh, that's what I've always said. XD It's more of a breathy growly sound, but it's easier to say "purr" than that.

UNLESS it's because it's all surprises for ME3 and the turians are going to be important in that like Quarians were showcased in ME2. O_O Right, BW???

No kidding. It would take them what, fifteen minutes to whip something out? Plus, as people have pointed out, it's not like they worry terribly about anachronisms within their timelines and whatnot.

We NEED to go to Palaven. And meet Garrus' family. ARGH! I just want more Garrus, BW, please give us more Garrus! Lol, but I guess we'd never be satisfied...I mean...can you ever really have too much of that turian? Really, I can't image BW could go wrong with handing out more info on that species. If the RP'ing FB community is any indication, turians are VERY popular.
It needs a larger pool, but in my What Species Would You Be? poll, turians are ahead by a decent margin, followed by the asari. Interest is there, BW. ^^

......... Do Want. Especially if you have to visit the homeworld to get them on board on fighting the Reapers with the rest of the allies you've gained in the last two games, since the Turian councilor never wants to agree with Shepard.

Turians strike me as more "efficiently-built" when it comes to strength. They don't seem like they'd have much fat on them at all naturally (which may also play into their disliking of cooler temperatures). They also have a society where martial training is practically compulsory. Harkin isn't likely much of a scrapper to begin with, so he goes all ragdoll when Garrus gets ahold of him. I also think it would be neat if we saw more variation in a turian's build.
So, in the same sense that not every man can beat every woman in a fight, not every turian can beat every human in a fight, but on -average- turians may have the upper hand (not significant when you think of the average human, though). Pound for pound the turians may have a slight strength advantage, but humans have other advantages to bridge the gap. (Flexibility, anyone? >)
In that Cerberus news bit it almost sounds like the turian may have been allowed to use some of his natural weapons, which should be a no-no if you ask me.
Edit: Wow, ninja'd by Eradyn.Shouldn't take so long to think out my posts.
I actually think turians would be quite flexible. I imagine a very wiry cat-like strength about them. Remember the guy at the bachelor party in Eternity looking at the asari stripper? Hey says something like "Ok that hurts just to look at and my knees are meant to bend that way." I know that's for laughs but it does imply that turians might be more limber than they first appear. Also, the bit where Garrus sits on the stairs hugging his knees during Tali's trial comes to mind. And he's wearing heavy armor at that! That seems to suggest he's at least as flexible as a human I think.

Yay, and remember "If I wanted to do more than take your shields down, I'd of done it'" That's also playful and not about hand-to-hand but could be seen to imply that he does think he could give Shep a run for her money.

Well, we all know turian females have flexibility... You'd need to ask Garrus whether turians or humans win out on that one. He's the only man qualified to compare!Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...

Maybe, but I think humans have at least more flexibility potential than turians. Or maybe I just think it would be hilarious for Garrus to have had this fling with this flexible turian chica, only for my FemShep (who does yoga, natch) to show him what -real- flexibility is.
The "my knees were meant to bend that way" came across to me as the way turians' lower legs bend outward slightly. Eh. Anyway, just some musings. Good to have all of this input to think about.

The battle for Garrus... there can only be one winner.
She's a young'un
She's an old fart.
She's got some dangerous weapons
She's got a walker.
She's fighting for everybody everywhere in the Garrus thread.
She's just senile.
Who will be the winner? You decide. The battle in hell...
CERRYDD VS. KGLASER!!!
No, you are a funny, funny chicken.

kglaser: What are you looking at, whippersnapper?
Cerrydd: Mmm... Mountain Dew...
Turians are pretty limber, actually, from what I've seen. They probably wouldn't have enough potential to be contortionists, but Garrus is pretty twisty.

*watches as kglaser runs off into the distance, screaming at Cerrydd and attempting to Biotic Charge Cerrydd with her walker* =>

Garrus: Then why are you watching me like this? It's distracting me.

As I've said, I'm a sucker for leg spurs (probably why I like him crouched like that.) When he starts pacing as he's talking my eyes go down so I still like the classic:
Garrus: *starts pacing* I remember one time we were about to hit a batarian pirate squad. Very risky...
Shepard: *Looks down* Yea, pirates...
Garrus: Shepard!
Shepard: *looks up, startled at tone* Huh, what?
Garrus: My eyes are up here.

That's a good one. My inner sap was always kind of jealous of those "I don't want anyone else. I want you." banners
the Tali folks had. This one and that other earlier one are very nice. I shall have to use them.

I was on a dinner with my parents today and I was eatng a roe carpaccio. Then a reflection came- it's somehow an oxymoronic dish. It's very refined, but on the other hand, hey, it's a raw meat, there's something... primary in it. Then I remembered that funny comparisons of Dragon Age characters to different meals.
And yeah, you see my point.
Garrus is like carpaccio. Predatory and elegant. Deadly and urbane. And that's why I love him, just like I love carpaccio.
P.S.: Roe carpaccio isn't as tasty, when you remember Bambi's mom.
