Thanks for all the advice, everyone! And I've sworn off drinking for all next week...it's making me fat. So I'll have coordination. LOL
To reward you all, time-machine Garrus has shown up here from his days in ME1 to grace you with his lovely profile.

I've picked Thane as the biotic before, and he didn't die. (however I lost Jacob and Samara that time, bleah)

I have had Samara as the first team leader on occasions and no one has died.

Picking the wrong biotic will kill one of your team members. It happened to me. I had Grunt and Garrus with me, and Grunt got taken away.

Anyway, my first try at the suicide mission was drama. You can read about it right here ;)

I've had Garrus in both slots with Tali with me and Tali ALWAYS catches me no matter what.  I've done rotations with Grunt and Legion and both times Grunt and Legion caught me.  I've caught Garrus as he fell before but he has yet to catch me.  I know it's possible to pile them up (you catch character, same character catches you) cause I've managed that with Tali.  Then again, there may be some kind of preferable treatment code with Tali given that there's a high chance she will be whatever's players LI, certainly higher than with poor Garrus.

I saved Garrus a thousand times, but he's never helped me get on the ship. I don't know how that mechanism works. It would be nice if he'd save me :(

Would it make you feel better if Garrus saved Bastila Shepard?

A little, yea, cause at least then I know he's paying attention some of time  I mean come on Garrus, first that batarian bartender incident and now you just stare as skinny Tali tries to grab me as I slip to my death?  Gee, thanks.

I make Garrus fire team leader both times, and see it as Shepard trusting him so much that she believes he'll manage the team perfectly.

I spoil and read everything for myself before the events, so I actually had the perfect setup and loyalty for the suicide mission...

EDIT: Yes.  Mutant hybrid babies cause me to go into fits of violent spaz-rages.  Puppies suffer, children cry, and I turn blue.  Blue because it's a cooler color than green. ;D

Presenting a Garrus plushie to her calms her down, if anybody's interested. It could make an interesting paradox, actually, but I haven't tried it out.

*holds Garrus plushie up in the air*

HEY ERADYN! MUTANT BABIES ARE AWESOME!11!!!1!1!!

I don't care what you call it, I call it perfectly normal.

Yeah, the pattern is interesting.
Something I wondered:  turians are supposed to have talons, right?  So do you think that interferes with face-paint application?  I'm just thinking of ladies with really long fingernails and they can't even pick up a handful of change from the dresser :P

The pattern on Garrus face is clan tattoo.

This. Tho some Turians don't have the paint and are called faceless (I beleive) I like Garrus face paint because it's simple, but very nice.

@Raga: Lol, or Shepard grabbing Grunt, who probably weighs more than a ton. I just wish the whole saving/grabbing thing wasn't so random. Hmm...have you ever tried using the same combinations more than once? Does it ever change, or is it always the same?

Err, I always have long fingernails and it actually helps me picking up things. Especially my thumbnails (ha). When those break off, I'm having difficulties picking up coins, pens and anything else.

But I don't think it's facepaint, but tattoos. Although it would be fun if Garrus had to wake up early everyday to put on his make-up :P

I think for some turians, the "paint" is actually a tattoo. Some of them have "shiny" markings on their faces, which makes it look more like paint. In Garrus's case, I believe it is a tattoo because his scarring actually seems to include that paint. But there's no way to make a tattoo have a different texture than the skin it's put on (as far as I know), so those with shinier, or more metallic, markings probably do just paint or enamel it on somehow. Either that or turian physiology is not adversely affected by permanently plastering their faces with something like plastic.

IIRC the codex calls it tattoos. In Turian history there was some conflict between colonies and Turians tattooed their faces as part of clan pride or something. I may be off a little, but this is the gist.

Yeah, I was thinking primarily of what Shepard said to him about covering up his scars.
I like the way one of the fics handled it...you have to wear face paint, then when you advance to a certain point or prove yourself you earn your tattoo.

It's been a while sense I messed with it but it seems that I recall whoever is the first person to get up on the platform with you as you make your big speech is the one you will catch.  I've actually had that be a random factor.  (I'd pick Garrus for slot#1 left side default but he would still come up as slot #2 or vice versa.)  Then whoever I catch without fail is also the same person that catches me (I had this happen with Tali, Grunt, and Legion.)  The only exception is when I catch Garrus, then the other person catches me.  It's like he's programed not to do it no matter what.

The term is 'barefaced' it means that the  individual is someone who is beguiling or not to be trusted

I love the color of the markings. That shade of blue has always been one of my favorite colors, anyway.

They should do fine with heavy metal tats considering they already have metallic exoskeletons

For Garrus I'm fairly positive it's a tattoo. But the turian councilor looks more like he's wearing shiny metallic paint (though it is entirely possible that there is some way to use a tattoo to bring out the metallic sheen in a turian's skin). The turian who is standing guard before Mordin's recruitment mission also wears what appears to be a shiny nonmetallic paint, but he's also most likely a mercenary. It may be that he only paints the emblem of his group on because he might be working for another in the near future.

I have also noticed that some turians have shiny faces and fringes, whereas others are more matte in tone (like Garrus's). It made me picture turian salons and barber shops, where they can go to get their fringes waxed and buffed. A shiny fringe is an attractive fringe! Or the opposite is true... We may never know.
