Garrus was doing a peek a boo at the commander while she was in the shower.

Well, when I write that scene... it'll be a robe or a towel, no makeup and hair down.  Like you said, his appearance there is a surprise.

Yeah, it kind of bugged me. FemShep is taking a shower, and apparently she's wearing superwaterproof mascara. Next shot she's fully clothed and her hair still looks as greasy as before. And even then Garrus still says her hair looks good. What the hell, it looks like it has never been washed since she was born.

Stupid hair :pinched:

You don't look for turian vigilantes when you get out of the shower, Silt? I know I always do. I have yet to find one but one of these days...

Well I do now.  I've yet to find one either. :pinched:  Woe.

HA! I'm not the only one who's convinced it was a surprise! They talked about it sure but they never set an exact time. I can imagine Garrus knocking tentatively then *fwoosh* the door opens (*coughEDIcough*) and then wandering in and looking around like "WTF? Where'd she--" and BAM! The wall opens up. Like finding the captain's bathroom for the first ti--

Wait...

Yeah, I thought it was a surprise, but I couldn't figure out why.  Your scenario kinda makes sense though.

See? Even better reason for Shep to not be in uniform. *sigh*

I think he may have been a bit surprised, but his reaction made me think he'd been waiting there patiently for a bit- just long enough to come up with that opening line of his, not long enough to frazzle his nerves. I can imagine him hear the hair dryer start up and be wondering WTH that noise is.

Yeah... but two hours? For two people who are utterly unfamiliar with each other?

I'm tempted to go with the inter-species awkwardness thing, in that instance.

Less than 2 hours. She has to have time to shower, and he needs time to change. PLus, there's the whole stalling about in awkward conversation thing. Not to mention that preperation for the actual battle probably required some time... I'm thinking 45minutes to an hour was their max. I mean, there's also the possibility that they took longer. After all, just because they were getting there in 2 hours, doesn't mean she had to act right then. Of course, that would be bad for the crew.  (Shepard: We've got to rescue my crew before it's too late! No time for stalling! *2 hours later* Miranda: We've arrived at the Omega-4 Relay, Shepard. Are you ready for battle? Shepard: Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some callibrations, or something.... Crew dead because she wanted to get her some!)

But I don't think interspeices awkwardness is a given. I think maybe they could have made a start... got some inspiration...have some things to look forward to when they survive. (Vakarian did do his research after all). Like you said, it's a short window of time for 2 people who are totally unfamiliar with one another. It was never goning to be the best that it could ever be, but a promising start would leave them with up as the only way to go.  Having said that, from the post SM 'love' scenes with Garrus on the sofa, I'd have to return to awkwardness. He does not look comfortable. lol

I may be overthinking this.

Anyone else wish that LIs that died in the SM got a different death scene or reaction? If not during the actual SM (Shepard is too professional to well up in the middle of a firefight), then in the post-end boss cutscenes? Afte all, with Virmire, you get the chance to tell Kaiden that you saved him over Ash because of your feelings for him, if a-romancing you did go.

Jack has a different death scene if you romanced her. I never really saw it, as I kept her alive when I did a MaleShep playthrough where I romanced her, but apparently she says something like "I knew I'd get tagged on this mission. I was too happy. Too happy with you." right before she dies.

I heard that when I went through the soundfiles a while ago. I also heard Thane talking about his siha. Has anyone here ever romanced Thane and got him killed as second squad leader? Maybe a stupid question, but I wonder if that's really in the game.

Aww. She dies blaming the only person who she has dared to let close to her for her death! Harsh.

I'm not sure anyone who has romanced Garrus would let him die. How could they?

....*sigh* And here I am coming up on the suicide mission.... Image IPB I don't know. Wouldn't he have to be unloyal for him to die, anyway? And you can't romance him unless he's loyal, so I have to wonder how it would even happen. The only way I could think is if you pick the wrong biotic for the seeker swarms, and at that point you're not gonna get any sweet last words.

Loyal Garrus can only die by sending him through the vents or by taking him with you during the Biotic Shield run if you choose a wrong/unloyal biotic.

Here are some random Garrus screenies I took today:

You can send loyal and romanced Garrus through the vents, but he won't have time for some last words.

Even though I'd never do it myself, I do feel that we Garrus romances are getting slightly shafted on the death scenes, that being the case. lol

I think youy need to buy a DrPepper and get a code. Which leave you out of luck if you don't live in the states. :(

Sigh. And it would be so cool to be viser buddies with Garrus.

You've still got the headshot damage visor, but that's on the wrong eye.

It may not be possible for Garrus to have a romance final words, but it could have been nice if he said something different instead if you romanced him.

I dunno, I always saw a "couple of hours" as 3 or 4, maybe 5 at a push, mainly something about "hours" in it. I know couple = 2, but oh well.

Well, brother's back home from Japan, so I guess I have to be more secretive and less liberal on how late I stay up. Or I could open up to him and risk getting permanently barred from here but I don't have to be so secretive. I dunno.

Joker/EDI specifies it will take 2 hours to go through the relay.

Why? Staying away from the Garrus thread is bad for your health.

Yeah... not the same. Mind you:
Garrus: Shepard, do you have to wesr the same visor colour as me. We look silly. People are talking.
Shepard: I got us matching hats too! We'll be twinsies! :D

I'm sure they won't ban you for being up late. Worst case, they ask you not to stay up so late, but at weekends you don't need to be secretive. :)

Oh. Fair enough, then. I guess that gives the fic about 20 or so minutes for shower stuff, 30 minutes to go through the whole scene, and 40 minutes of naptime before 30 minutes afterwards. That works for me.

Yeah, but it's better being a rare sight on the fourms (and here, we have a schoolgirl chicken, commonly known as a Flammie. He's never seen here, normally, but this must have been a convenient time for it, when its parents and siblings don't know it is here) than nonexistant.

Haha, Shepard, so stubborn.

Garrus: Shepard, I'm not quite sure I'm comfortable with this...

I know, I know, but they still assume I'm a hetero lack-of-social-life stay-indoors normal-likes teenage academic kid. Imagine what a shock finding out what I'm doing here would give them, talking to people on the internet and adult women fangirls for a fictional character. And in order to get past 10:00PM I need to use my dad's laptop instead, which is actually strictly off-limits (brother put a timer on this laptop, damn Vista ¬v¬).

I've got a lot more Garrus screenies taken from my new playthrough! One of them is Shepard being sad about Garrus getting shot, but it's still pretty nice.

Well, here's hoping they release an all inclusive version of Mass Effect 2 in the future.

A version of ME2 with all of the DLC included? That would be awesome for me. :D Did they ever do that for ME1?

Unfortunately no. I was wondering that but they never made a GOTY edition or anything of ME1. I want to get Pinnacle station before finishing and importing into ME2.

I tried looking one up around the time I bought ME1, but I couldn't find one. D: I was hoping I just failed in my search. It would be nice to have Zaeed and Kasumi in my game though. I'd also like to see one of my batarian-hating Shepards go after whats-his-name from the ME1 DLC, and one of my mostly Renegades save the hostages instead. I can still hope they'll eventually release it on a disk, even though it's unlikely.

Aw I like Shep's shiny hair.  And I don't think Garrus would know anything about whether her hair actually does look good or not anyway, so...

And we don't know the technology of mascara and shampoo in the future.

I think a time lapse is implied between shots, though.

I'm leaving for a trip for a week tomorrow.  You will all be in my heart.

@Flammie.  I understand the dilemma. You could be half honest (like I do at work sometimes...:innocent:) and claim valid use of the net, erasing browser history afterwards, if it bothers you that much. Or half-truths. Also, IMO 'normal' is a relative term. :P

Hmmm... have just realised I may be leading a minor astray for the selfish reasons of not wanting to lose our beloved mascot. :huh:Maybe don't listen to me. lol

@Xsause. Lovely screenies. From certain angles, your FemShep looks like mine with different colouring, which make me do this:D.  (I have to get ME for the PC. Steal a PC, and get screenies of my own. You guys all post such great ones.

Shot Garrus makes me sad. But sexy scarred Garus is like 'Yay!' Chicks dig scars, man.

@Ray. Have fun! Remember: the real world can be chilly. Take a sweater.

Also, Ecal posted this in another thread. Moar Brandon Keener. (specifically this thread. Which is a good thread. And has a Garrus related DL in it...)

Oh lol, BK with longer hair. Mmmmm, Garrusvoice.

On a completely Garrus unrelated note: I'm giving DA another go, and I bet Sten is not a romance option? Me likes him. Game still gives me a headache though.

But the party banter is awesome. I wish they put more of that in ME. Squadmate interaction ftw. The only thing that ever came that close was Garrus and Tali in the Citadel. I want moar Garrus chatter ><

Oh, and have fun Ray! We'll miss you ;)
