Also I love Splinter Cell's idea that a Garrus relationship might help Shep's image with the Turian Councilor. I guess I can see that going both ways though, hehe. He would either respect Shep more, or rrrrrraaaaaaaaaagggggeeee.
My money's on the second one;), knowing...Turian Councilor.
...Does anybody else find it weird that the Councilors don't have names? When Anderson joined I expected him to like....lose his name a la the Krogan Shaman, considering we have no idea what the Councilors' names are and yet they're pretty important to the story.

I can see it now...:
"Ah yes, 'turian boyfriend'. Your imaginary relationship with Garrus. We have dismissed that claim."
lol --oh! don't make me laugh. my face hurts enough as it is.

*punches Turian Councilor in the face*.... "How's that for evidence?"
"Your childish tantrums proove nothing."
*facepalm*

Wait, you're saying Turian Councilor's first name isn't Turian? I just thought his parents lacked imagination
Wouldn't it have been weird if you walked in to talk to Anderson and he was only "Human Councilor"? LOL
"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL" "Yes, Shepard. human Councilor is now ready to speak with you."
"Uh, Anderson?"
"There is no Anderson here."
"Uh oh..."

I still don't mind Thane calling me Siha even though I've got no romantic interest in him whatsoever. He feels more like a favourite uncle to my Shepard, or some other such paternal figure. I'm not trying to weird out the Thane romancers..this is just how it plays out in my story.
@AnotherStupidAccount: Hawaiian shirts..YES. A million times yes. I can just picture a whole crapload of Turians lounging about in hawaiian shirts, cargo shorts and giant novelty sunglasses.
Nope, can't do it, closest I get is Harvey from Farscape.

I couldn't resist taking that conversational option about the "Quib-Quib" while I was on the Migrant Fleet. My Shepard REALLY wanted to be able to ask for a tour of the mighty "Quib-Quib", but Bioware didn't oblige. :[ I'd love to see the Migrant Fleet show up as an ally in the final battle against the Reapers, and it turns out that the "Quib-Quib" is this humongous superdreadnought covered with weapons...and a bumper sticker reading, "Hi, my name is 'Quib-Quib'. Wanna make something of it?"
About reactions to a Garrus/Shepard romance. I always figured it'd go one of two ways. If Shepard is a paragon, then she'll have saved everyone, saved the galaxy, covered herself in glory. Why wouldn't people be willing to cut the galaxy's greatest hero some slack in the relationship department? And if she's this renegade nightmare who has slaughtered her way through the galaxy...who in their right mind would dare say ANYTHING about her romantic choices?

Ask him out for drinks. Maybe send him dextro-amino based flowers. Serenade him. Maybe he'll come around. Maybe he won't--but at least it will have been totally hilarious.

Maybe he does respect you at least. The Turians are becoming closer to humanity if the council was saved. Besides I guess this time their position towards Shepard was a bit justified. In ME1 I'd say that they were just a bunch of bickering politicians not wanting to see the truth. In ME2's it's different, Shepard was gone for 2 years and mysteriously brought back by an organization who has no ethical boundaries. They could have trusted Shepard a bit more though. However they are way better than the human council and their offer is pretty great compared to the other council.
If you take out the alien council in ME1 the humans take over. In ME2 they don't even have the decency to meet with the person that put them in power much less provide any help at all. IF Udina ís in charge you also get no offer. That just shows how incompetent humans are and I'd take the Turian councilor over those people any day.

You do hear a reference to 'Councilor Velarn' (Valern? Can't remember) on the news, but no clue as to which one of them it is. Sounds like the turian to me, though, kinda Latin.siltsonata wrote...

I wonder if Garrus would think me insane...Klencory is famously claimed by the eccentric Volus billionare Kuman Shol. He claims that a vision of a higher being told him to seek on Klencory the "lost crypts of beings of light." These entities were supposedly created at the dawn of time to protect organic life from synthetic "Machine Devils."
Always wondered about that myself, and why someone on Shep's team hasn't said "Hey. Let's go talk with this guy plx".

I think it might be Turian. Executor Pallin's name is Vernari, I doubt that's an Asari or Salarian name.

I lost and could not regain Miranda's loyalty on one of my playthroughs - she survived, but I lost Legion to the seeker swarms at the end of the biotic specialist escort. Damnit, I loved that toaster. (Loved, not *mordincough*loved kthx.)

Honestly, yeah, I don't hate the Council as much as 99% of people on the forums seem to. True, they could be more helpful, and even while witholding help they could be less dickish about it. But I don't think it's so outrageous that they aren't jumping at the gate to throw all their resources and support behind Shepard just yet, for the reasons you mentioned. Plus, one doesn't get to be part of the supreme political triumvirate of civilized galactic space by being radical or reckless. They have a massive fleet to use judiciously and millions/billions of eyes watching them By nature those three have got to be some of the most shrewd and conservative (as in anti-risk) persons in the galaxy. They wouldn't have risen so far otherwise. Also, people entrenched in positions of power naturally resist accepting major change or the existence of external threats. It's understandable in ME1 that they are reluctant to believe the Reaper story. In ME2 you finally have some evidence, but other dubious facts surrounding Shep that you mentioned are also working against her.
On a completely unrelated note, mew mew, mew.

That'd be an awesome achivement, and all games for Xbox 360 must come with achievements or they are not launched for Xbox 360. (Which is why some of the achivements are lame-o, like "Achievement unlocked: You successfully hit the start button while playing this game".)

oh, I meant I originally wrote "that would be a great xbox live achievement" and then for some reason felt the need to edit it to just "xbox achievement." because I don't think you get them for playing online. ??? pointless technical edit that caused confusion

Seriously, has there ever been a better developed video game character? I can't think of many even close to the same calibre. Or anyone that can make calibrating sound so sexy!
Because I have to share the sweet taste of victory....
