Yes, the mystery is solved...

And I would have gotten away with it too...

If it weren't for those Meddling Humans and their Alien Allies...

Quick question: Which is better to max out, and which is best to 0. AP Ammo or Garrus's class ability?

IMO, the AP Ammo edges the class ability out for what to max. Tungsten ammo is my friend. Image IPB

I like to max Turian Rebel, AP ammo (either way, doesn't really matter), and Heavy Overload. I just don't get much use out of Conc Shot, you don't fight a lot of biotics. I tend to play a Soldier, anyway, so I have a Conc Shot of my own.

+25% damage with Rebel, +50% for rank 3/squad AP Ammo, +70% for Tungsten. I'd say that Rebel is better, since it increases all damage dealt, not just to health and armor.

AP Ammo is pretty good; the only useless ammo power is Thane's. It only works on health? I had to reread it a few times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. 'Oh boy, I can kill things which are effectively already dead slightly faster!' The rest of his skillset is kickass enough to make up for it, though.

General tip--always, always, ALWAYS go for enhanced damage over extra health. If your squaddies are at the point where that extra 7% really matters, they're dead anyway. More damage means you kill things faster and take less damage in the long run.

Why not Max both of them?

Not enough points without doing the glitch that gives me points to max everything. And since I have to spend 3 points on concussion shot in order to use Overload, that means either maxing AP or his Turian Rebel ability.

Huzzah! Thanks, Kim. The mystery is solved! Good thing too. I was thinking about it too much. I wiki'd space toilets for funsies. Image IPB

I was wondering about it too. :) And good thing I checked, because my vague memory of the first time I clicked the flush button made me think the water swirled to the left... I'm not surprised I didn't remember though.

I also got a chance to see EDI's comment about being built with pieces of Sovereign, and Joker's response. Now I'm trying to see Legion's robot dance, but he's being very stubborn about it. xD I even left the room, talked to Garrus (by the way, he repeats the "I'm just finishing some diagnostics, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten what we talked about" dialogue in my game), took an elevator ride, and came back in. Do I need to talk to him first?

While playing the suicide mission last night, I had sent Garrus off on the fire team (I think it's called) and every so often he would chime in over my headset and yell something like "Nice shot!" or "Perfect!" While I was happy to hear that things were going well, I was jealous that he was having so much fun while I was trudging through a bubble with Samara and Jacob and I had to listen to stuff like "Get over here!" LOL

Make sure you're out of conversations with him; I don't think waiting triggers it, I believe you have to go in and out of the area--reload it, basically. Go to the CIC, come back, run straight to him. I just walked right in on it while I was doing the rounds after the suicide mission.

I just waited for a few minutes and then he started dancing. It was pretty awesome.

Dude, concussive blast useless?  Are we playing the same game?  I love concussive blast.  It wreaks havoc on husks (alternating between Grunt and Garrus is just brutal...you can just stand and watch them mow stuff down with it) and it knocks out both warp barriers and armor.

I'm pretty sure I took Samara and Thane for the biotic bubble. Yeah, it was nice to hear Garrus talking to Shepard on the headset (chose him as team leader both times), so my Shepard could relax a little knowing that things were going well for him. I read somewhere on the forums that Grunt was supposed to say something over the headset if he's holding the line, but I never heard it in-game... I might have been too focused on the human Reaper though.

Okay, I found some conversations with Legion that I hadn't heard before. :) Then I used the elevator, came back, and he still wasn't doing it... and then a few minutes later, he started dancing. It was adorable.

I think you have to stay in the same area withou going through any load screens for a while to get him to dance.  Standing around is boring, but I think that's what it takes.

Also, I'm doing a new playthrough of ME1 and I just talked to, oh gosh, Lilihierax,
or whatever his name is...he's a turian mechanic in Port Hanshan on Noveria.  Anyway, he's one of the most emotive and expressive turians I've seen so far.  It's funny I never noticed it before.  I guess I just got good at reading turian facial expressions.  You get a definite turian grin out of him and a flared mandibles, sheepish look that is just hilarious.  Anyway, I thought he was funny.

I am definitely going to play ME1 again. I think I am going to notice a lot of things I didn't notice before...and the nostalgia with the foreshadowing of all the things that are going to happen in ME2 (Garrus-related AND otherwise) should be really cool.

Greetings all, much love towards Garrus! <3

I have a question, and I figure this is the best place to ask. It's my understanding, turians use their mandibles to convey facial expressions. Is that correct? Also, what would be the equivalent of a smile?

I ask since I'm writing a fanfic and would like to know how Garrus would convey some kind of positive emotion or smile, if it's possible.

Hi sergio :)

I wish I could find you a picture right now, but once you get to notice what a turian smile or laugh looks like, it is quite easy to recognize. I wouldn't have thought it possible before, but there it is!

If you have any ME2 saves on Omega, you could go talk to Gavorn and ask him what the vorcha are planning...he laughs then. Sort of a more open mouth with more teeth showing and mandibles kind of flared out. I am sure someone here would have a picture of him or someone else smiling; alas, I am pictureless. :(

You're welcome. :) I just wish I could have given you a screenie...we have so many talented SS takers in here. RiotLaFontaine has a huge collection and Xsause is always submitting them, to name just two. Maybe if you come back a bit later, there might be some.

And good luck with the fic!

Haha, I love those Garrus Vakarian Facts! :-D
After reading them and laughing, I was inspired to come up with a few more...

* Bullets don't hit Garrus Vakarian, but Garrus Vakarian sometimes hits bullets.
* Garrus Vakarian calibrates his targeting visor.
* Garrus Vakarian can see black holes.
* Harbinger tries to intimidate Shepard because he knows that nobody can intimidate Garrus Vakarian.

Hehe, I like that one...I have a mental image of Garrus punching bullets with his fist XD

Depends on how they disagree with it. Most of the time I don't like canon being tampered with too much. As an opinion.

Also don't forget the "happy Garrus is happy" banner in the OP.  That's a pic of Garrus laughing his fool head off.  That should really show you what a happy turian looks like.
