I found picture of Saren right before he grabs Benezia (Google image search!), and I guess I was confused because his hands still look like they have gloves on them... Do the gloves end right where his claws start? xD That's awesome, and totally defeats the purpose of wearing the gloves at all if they're really meant to prevent other people from getting scratched. I also just realized how geth-like his left arm and that half of his body is after staring at Legion for such a long time today.
I don't have the DLC, so I've only seen the statue in screenshots. It was so cool seeing it for the first time in the motivationals thread and being surprised by it. My Shepard wants the Saren statue.

It's literally a geth arm (which is why I just don't understand why the Council doesn't suspect a thing, because...that's clearly a geth arm. Like, tubes and everything. You'd think that would be questionable, especially since nobody else has visible prosthetics and the geth haven't left the Perseus Veil in 200 years). I didn't notice until I saw a screencap (jumps around too much to get a good look ingame), but in his final boss form it's even more prominent, for obvious reasons.

Well, I don't know how to post a link here, but the picture I was looking at when I first noticed Saren's geth arm was the one where he's sitting in his chair, and he seems to either have a headache, or it's a facepalm, or a little of both. xD It looks so much like Legion. I remember reading somewhere that Saren tried to cover up his geth arm when he talked with the Council... but even if he didn't, the Council is pretty oblivious.

...Possibly lost his arm? D: Poor Saren. Although, it does make more sense than replacing it with a geth arm just because he felt like it. (Indoctrination made him do it?) I was also wondering if his jaw is sort of being held together by cybernetics, or if his teeth were always visible through the sides of his head.

Saren was a pretty good villain. I especially like his trial - you knew he was full of crap yet the council believed him. Very frustrating, but made was one of the things that made him a good villain.

To be fair, your claims were pretty outrageous - and false too! You did blow up the beacon, after all, laying that on Saren was an outright falsehood (not sure if the writers just suffered a momentary memory lapse or what).

But you may have been trying to say that in the first place.

Took a few minutes to sign up...easy and totally worth it. Thanks for the great links! Good to see that many have drawn a 'Turian' body rather than pseudo human. I love the collar/halo(?) thingy that Turians have and Mr V certainly rocks his.

It's not really whether or not Shepard's claims were hard to believe or not. It was the fact that the Council, who are supposed to be your allies, is stubbornly believing someone - the villain - instead of you, when you know you are right (aside from the possible lapse). You feel helpless during and after the trial, and Saren got away when you had the chance to nab him. Of course, the best villains tend to hinder the protagonist, if not are required to. And he hindered the player in quite the effective way, all the while injecting racist jabs.

Saren and Sovereign go on about his 'upgrades' a lot; I'd guess the arm is part of that. Makes me wonder, though--I didn't read Revelation, does it mention a missing/replaced arm there? When exactly did he pick it up? And when did he come into contact with Sovereign?

I can't imagine why the Council wouldn't recognize a geth arm--sure, they haven't been seen in the (robo)flesh but I've never seen a real live Colonial-era Redcoat and I could probably describe one to you pretty well, since they're a significant part of history where I live (Massachusetts, we ****ing love Johnny Tremain, goddamn). It would be a bizarre gap in a Councilor's education to have no idea what a geth looked like, given how important they were to galactic law and history (the AI bans, tossing the quarians out).

...you know, Saren's really lucky the geth are so closely based off of the quarians, who happen to share three fingered-hands. Imagine the trouble he'd have had if quarians (and subsequently geth) had drell-type hands. He'd be so uneven.

I thought this might be what you were saying. Although the Council does tend to play the "we don't believe you" card a little too often. I'm almost puzzled as to why they were convinced by Anderson (if you chose him) to reinstate you as a Spectre? They certainly don't seem to trust you.

Right after the end of Revelation. Sovereign doesn't actually appear in the book, but some Reaper tech does, which indoctrinated several scientists and which then begins to work its magic on Saren. He heads off to geth space to try and use it to take out humanity.

So in a way, Anderson's accusations were completely right, even if they were kind of missing the point.
