I think we said that his conversations with Shepard were pretty long, actually, too.

Hmm... any indication of where everybody else is placed in amount of speech, Mukora?

Well, the next highest was thirty, but I can't remember who... likely Miranda.

And, it really sucks that Garrus has the least conversations. You only get one more conversation if you romance him and that"s it. Why, Bioware? Why do you hate us so?

Yeah, more conversation from Garrus would have been nice.

I think I read that here, too. Though I think it was just "seems" like the most dialogue in the game rather than confirmed, but I'm not sure.

Soltana, are you seriously like, going to hit me with that like, frying pan? Because that would like, totally hurt.

I'll beat you with it and then you'll be the guest of honor at Soul Food day at our community dining hall. You'll be the one IN THE BUCKET. D8<

...I'm, like, winning the, like, battle between, like, us, according to the poll. Hah, like, hah.

(I kid, too. This speech pattern will probably die out tomorrow, so don't worry.)

Okay so back to ME1 before this madness consumes my inebriated brain. Must get more screenshots.

It only seems like Garrus has more dialogue than everyone else because we take him with us everywhere. If he weren't there, someone else would say something in his place.

Sheesh. Tali has 20 more minutes of dialogue than the leading lady? I'm not sure what to think of that.

So I'd look back at the 40 pages I missed, but that would take effort, and I figured if anything important happened one of you Garrus fans would inform...

Anyways, so I was drawing Garrus the other day (instead of studying for AP tests like I should of been ) when I finally and fully realized that turians have plating on their face.. Like I knew it before, I just didn't fully comprehend the concept until I was drawing Garrus's eyes and realized the skin/fleshy areas... So it's like turians are born with a natural and kickass face mask.

Anyways, I remember something about the face plating being made up of something like that of cartilage. And cartilage lacks blood vessels and nerves, which in turn made me question as to why Garrus's scars look so fleshy and whether or not he can feel his face. Of course turains are different species and based on different genetic and biological principles, but the fact is that turians have plating on their face, and thus any existence or overabundance of nerves or flesh isn't very viable for protection. Now before I go into a biological and anatomical analysis, does anyone else have any thoughts?

PS: Apparently cartilage doesn't heal very well so it looks like Garrus is going to be stuck with his scars. Guess I'll have to keep the Krogan women off him =P

An interesting point. My thought would be that the artists may have simply missed the memo. They've been known to fail in communication with the writers before (pretty much every depiction of space battles does not match up with the info in the Codex).

As an in-universe explanation, I'd say that the plating is fairly thin and that the the wound to Garrus penetrated the plating and got to the fleshy flesh underneath. They probably also don't have skin underneath the plating because, after all, what would be the point? Don't forget he was bleeding pretty heavily out on to the floor (I actually worried for a minute that I'd done something wrong and he was going to die).

Cartiledge has nerve endings or you wouldn't feel pain getting your ears or nose pierced.  Now... if you were going to compare it to hair or fingernails... that wouldn't have any feeling.

I'd hardly consider Miranda the leading lady of the ME trilogy, even with male Shepard.

She might be the leading lady of ME2 though. I mean, she was on the cover. But all things considered, she was advertised a lot less than Ashley, who kind of dominated the ME1 ads.

Female Shepard is obviously the leading lady if you pick her, so we'll leave that out of the discussion.

Regarding Male Shep, I think that overall Liara is the female lead of the trilogy in terms of relevance to the plot, and while her diminished role in ME2 leaves somethign of a void for a female lead in that specific chapter, I do not think Miranda really fills it. Considering that the majority of the build up dialogue to the Tali romance happens whether or not you actually romance her, it gave me a pretty clear impression that she was the "intended" romance for the second chapter. Though the quality of the final scene compared to others is debatable (I still think Thane has the best culmination), I think that one flows into the most smoothly and naturally of all of them. She's also the only party member that does stuff besides just being in your party, and of course earns continuity points...somebody in both games naturally seems more "lead-ish" (and I know that is not a word) than somebody introduced in the sequel. And, while this has already been brought up, Tali has more dialoge than anybody else and it's very noticeable...and the technical definition of a leading role is the role with the most lines. Miranda, on the other hand, actually serves as a pseudo-antagonist for a part of the game that varies in length depending on your decisions, but perhaps my own bias of not finding her a very likable character is clouding my judgement.

a terrorist attack that killed about a million turians. Why the hell couldn't any of this crap be mentioned in the game? Its sometimes even more interesting then what happens in me2.

I never said anything about her being the leading lady of the trilogy. But in ME2, she has the most plot relevance out of all of the females on the ship except for FemShep, and Shepard will obviously always have more dialogue than anyone else so she isn't really relevant to this discussion.

Probably because they came up with that after ME2 was released?

Overall the female lead seems definitely to be Liara. Integral to the ME1 plot, and basically throws herself out for you as a romance interest from the first conversation regardless of what gender Shepard is. And was sidelined in ME2 so she can survive to have a role in ME3. The female lead of ME2 of course is Miranda, who is also the lead in the game in general, all Jacob does is introduce the new recruits. Overall male lead of the series would either be Kaidan or Garrus, depending on who is dead. If both are alive, it's Kaidan, if Kaidan is dead it's Garrus. If both are dead, then it's Jacob.

I'm actually quite surprised that they are actually doing daily news like this. I'd wager that we might catch some foreshadowing for ME3 somewhere along the lines.

I certainly hope so. I'd love to see the Raloi in ME3.

Seeing as this is the last installment of Shepard's story, there are indeed a few things I want cleared up. The Raloi is further down the list because it's something that was only introduced in the Cerberus News thing, a lot of which is humor. Banes and the Shadow Broker top my list, but I'd also want to see female Turians and Salarians, mostly the former. It's going to be quite funny if we visit the Turian homeworld as many speculate and for some reason there are no females around. Not really interested in the Reapers all that much in comparison to other things like the Shadow Broker, etc.

What i want in me3 is for some of the events i am reading in the cerberus daily news to carry over into the actual game. Like visiting palaven the turian capital recently got nuled by terrorists, i don't want to go there and see everything handy dandy you know?

Yea, they could pull it off in ME1 and ME2, but they be able to again if we get to Palaven or a Turian colony.

I rather like this look for the female Turian:

social.bioware.com/group/2009/discussion/7132/&p=9

Then again, I've never seen any other renditions.

That would actually look pretty neat. Though its up to bioware to even show any female turians or salarians.

But besides that, what do you guys think would be in the upcoming dlc that they will announce? I seriously hope that garrus actually has more dialouge then he had in other dlcs.

I am thinking it's one of these:

a) Liara DLC

B) Hammerhead DLC

c) Weapons/Armor

d) Alt. Outfit Pack 2

e) Something having to do with Horizon and/or Kaidan/Ashley/Liara.
