I'm planning on a PT of ME where there is no LI (so she can be free for Garrus in ME2) but after all this 'why does she end up with Garrus' talk, I realised Kate only discovered her feelings for him because she felt so betrayed by Kaiden. Hmmm. May need to make a whole new Shepard! (I have a couple of other Sheps, but they are a bit evil, and I think Garrus would be disappoint. lol). It is possible I am overthinking this. Image IPB

I'm planning on starting a repeat playthrough of ME1 tonight, with a brand-new Shepard designed just for Garrus in ME2. (of course he doesn't find humans attractive so it doesn't matter what she looks like, but who do you guys think looks better on his arm, a blonde or a brunette? LOL)
But I'm not going to romance Kaidan this time (or Liara either).  I have 2 preexisting FemSheps, 1 Kaidanmancer 1 Liaramancer.  I'm going it alone this time.  My Shepard never thought much about a love or personal life at all in ME1.  She's going to be all business and have her core way of thinking shaken up in ME2 by her death and subsequent resurrection.
I love ME1, I'm excited about seeing all the goodies in there again (I'm even a weirdo who loves the Mako, the customization, and all the other stuff many people dislike) :D

It is quite simple.  However, so am I at times.  So thank you for reposting it. :P

Brunette, but that's just because all of my Shepards are brunettes :D.

Well I have a black-haired one and a redhead, so it's either brown-haired or blonde...I might have to flip a coin, gahh XD

I'll try brunette first and see how she looks, thanks for the suggestion Neria :)

Oh, I was kinda lumping the black-haired Sheps in with the brunettes, so I suppose I should reword it to say I have mostly black-haired ladies. I do like the brunette look, though. I just wish it were a slightly darker brown.

Edit: Oh, and to make sure it's related to Garrus, the black hair looks wonderful against his mandibles.

I'm sitting here agonizing over the hairstyle I'm going to pick as well, when I should be paying bills. I need help, LOL.

Also, Garrus.

Blond. If you make her quite white-blond, and give her green or blue eyes and blue armour, they go together so well! It's like a whole ice-queen team up thing of badassery. The blue, it is so pretty.

Someone on the Jacob thread compared him and Garrus as being 'two peas in a pod'. :huh:Buh?

I feel bad. I'm doing the Jacob romance to get the cuddlebone line (it's taking me longer than anticipated) and he's being super sweet so now I have the guilt.

... until, that is, this exchange.

Jacob: You can drop the 'Mr Taylor'.
FemShep: Make me.

No!

Can you imagine a similar exchange with Garrus? He'd flip out in a mess of awkward.

There should be some videos on youtube if you want to see the cuddlebone line (or nearly anything else really) without having to do Jacob's romance.

I felt the need to gently rebuke. lol.

Yeah, I know there are youtube videos. But I want Garrus to know that when Shep says she chooses him over someone closer to home, she means it. (Yep. I am that sad in my overthinking. XD)

Ah, I see. Was just suggesting in case since it takes a while to get through the romance (bunch of missions).

Well, my Shepard has the hair color that looks dark blonde/light brown... so both? xD I've probably planned out a Shepard for most of the color combinations, but I've never thought about their appearances when choosing a romance interest, just personality.

I'll probably start my NG+ playthrough of ME1 tonight too. :) This Shepard doesn't take Garrus along on missions as often as my last Shepard though, since he's bringing Tali and alternates the others. Garrus will get to be one of Shepard's best friends though, same for Wrex.

Well, I have no problem with playing ME2 more (mostly. I will admit that Miranda and Jacobs' LMs are grating on me a tad...) it's more, I'm terrified of doing it wrong and being unable to dump him, and so am taking my time working through the convos (which, I know, is actually working against my cause. Leave my brain alone!). lol. I am concerned that I may have gone too far already! :?
Thanks though.

I've actually been doing a couple of LI PTs (not complete PTs, as this one will be. More like relationship biased ones to get from zero to zex with the characters as quickly as possible) recently, and I've noticed something: Shep (Male and Female) doesn't really come on to any one character particularly strongly. At least, not in the way people have complained about it. People keep saying FemShep is 'too forward', but she's about exactly as forward as MaleShep, so what's the biggie? They are, after all, meant to be the same base character. I can understand frustration at the way they get on with their LIs in terms of coming from a paragon/renegade perspective (there should totally be different paths you can take in a romance without ending it), but the male/female thing? I don't get it.

I also cannot see how any of the characters who aren't Jack could ever come onto Shep without it being a tad OOC, unless s/he made the first move. S/he's the commander, for pete's sake!

Sigh. Sorry. OT vent over.

So, Garrus, eh? I hear he's pretty good at callibrations. And Mako fixing.

Shepard: I planted the monument next to the mako. It held up pretty well, considering.
Garrus: That thing is near indestructable, Commander. They way you drive, it had to be.

The only ones that I think Shepard comes on too strong are to thelove interest are the Miranda and Jacob romances. There's one line in the Miranda romance where Shepard goes "I just want to get you into bed." The other romances are better in this aspect.

Yeah. I just hear a lot of "I dislike how FemShep acts in her romances." Do you really think Shepard could be the person to make the first move? They'd never get hit on: imagine the fear of rebuttal from someone who could kick your butt that hard!

I think the Miranda/Jacob romances are deliberatly forward compared to the others. If we're being realistic in terms of making it work, they are probably the least complicated for Shepard to embark upon (nb: I am not arguing 'depth' here. Just saying that on the surface, from a purely 'who can I romance?' moment, going for a fellow human who isn't emotionally scarred by years of torment and abuse probably seems like a sound option.) The flirting is easier because it's more harmless: the others come with inter=speices awkwardness and potential psychological trauma. Putting sexon the table for Tali/Garrus/Jack or Thane is kind of 2 steps further down the line than doing it for Jacob or Miranda (IMO).

I'm tempted to play ME1 again and keep Ashley alive, for once, and maybe romance Liara... not sure if I'd dump her or not in ME2, though. As much as I didn't like her in ME1, she grew on me in ME2(even for not being there... just by her actions and so on.) The temptation is to go with Thane(for a second time) because I am fond of the guy but... but... /wrings hands

Why do I keep replaying these games so much? ;_;

Hahah, I romanced Garrus with all other playthroughs but ONE. (That's about six times, one for Thane.) Maybe I'll actually leave this Shepard true to her lover from ME1.... for once. /cough

I think I'll make this Shepard a blond, too. My other Sheps are either red-headed or brunettes. Need to finish my Insanity playthrough though. OMFG, finally finished the Collector Ship. I HATE the dratted Pretorians(sp?)... dang thing killed me three times before I finally aced it. ;_;

That reminds me, this Shepard will be going for quarian sympathizer.  I already have turian and krogan sympathizer.  I refuse to lug the same two people everywhere with me, though...sucks the joy out of the game for me.  But I will be happy to have Tali along, especially with the Mako in the picture.  She's a great squadmate.

My "Garrus and Garrus alone" Shep planted it there too. So I have this to say: Image IPB

Yeeeeaaahh.....I've got 7 PTs under my belt and have yet to be able to get the nerve up to romance someone else. Even on my "For whatever crazy reason is faithful to Kaidan" Shep I had to go glomp on Kelly just to keep myself from storming the forward battery.

Hey, does anyone know- is it enough to use the elevator and go somewhere else on the ship, or do you have to land somewhere and come back to get the next step in any given romance?

You need to do a mission or assignment to advance romances.
