Phoenix armor always makes me go... "Buwah?"
Though one of the Massive ME2 Meme's had that as their last panel and I almost died.

When I first loaded my NG+ playthrough, I was surprised to see Shepard wearing his armor on the Normandy. I've seen screenshots of FemShep wearing the dress when she wakes up in the Cerberus lab... and if my FemShep had the dress, I would make sure that never happened. xD The last thing she needs after being killed and brought back is a "WTF Cerberus?!" moment.

By the way, if anyone's interested, I found a way to get really good close-ups of turians faces when I was playing ME1 last night (but I have the Xbox version, so I'm not sure if the controls work the same way on PC). I just moved Shepard to one side of the turian, swung the camera around to the other side, and slowly made Shepard walk away from the turian. The camera will follow him, which brings it closer to the turian. :D I got a really good view of some NPCs on the Citadel - I even saw two turians who looked barefaced, and there was one who walked away when I stared at him too long (which was probably just in his animation, but it was still pretty funny).

Are you sure you linked what you were intending to link there?

Because, if you were....I don't get the joke.

Just noticed the picture with turian mouth isn't there anymore and I've kept forgetting to post this one.

Agreed. That video makes me regret stopping violin. (Then again, I still can't stand playing it after being with an abusive teacher for 5 years. Ah well. It wasn't meant to be.)

I have that meme downloaded and set to do... I just never get around to DOING it. And that art is better than mine. Ghhhhh. Really funny, too.

I know, I love it ^_^. I'm just happy that link was still ctrl-c'd instead of some embarrassing pr0n or something... :P

This page needs more walls of text, but I don't know what to talk about.

Is there a link to a more zoomed in version of that? I can't get it big enough for the text to be legible.

Just click on the image and it automatically zooms in. But yeah, it's a funny pic.

Still loving Delightful Spekkio. Doesn't have too much relation to what's being said right now, but eh.

I think it's a lot of fun to do, but I can't draw. Maybe I'll find a way to use screenshots for it or something. Otherwise humans will be stickpuppets and Garrus will be a stickpuppet with a fringe and mandibles...

Yeeeeah... bad times with that teacher. She never laid a hand on me, but I was so scared and upset when I was going for lessons after awhile my mother wondered if I was getting sick. I was raised that adults are right and I just assumed it was my fault she was always angry and so on. Mum sat in on a lesson without the teacher knowing and stormed in, yelled at her, dragged me out, and almost cried in the car when I admitted it had been that way for five years. Tried another teacher for another 3 but it was too late. I love LISTENING to the violin and it makes me sad, but I can't play it anymore. It sits in my parents' house. ANYWAY..

And I think I'll REALLY take a crack at that meme after I've moved to my new apartment because I'm going to have to box stuff up soon and don't want to try to keep track of everything, including my tablet. It does mean I'll have to practice drawing Turians. That scares me a bit.

Oh... wow... *hugs Kotori Ky*

...I don't drink alcohol or overly sugary stuff, so... *gives Kotori Ky bottle of Diet Coke*

My brother's been practising violin... he's... well, it's hard to tell. I've got a sense of rhythm, but my sense of pitch is terrible.

But yeah, good luck with doing the meme, there's no pressure. If I want to draw anything decent, it takes me ages. I remember it taking me two hours just to draw an actual Flammie based on official art. Otherwise, it's just stick figures at a rush, or if I'm in an art lesson or such, it's often incomplete/rushed.

...Though we were doing collages and I stuck a human girl into a toaster (take that as you will). That was awesome.

You always respond in such ways to "So, Garrus," or anything similar, I've noticed.

Can we all agree that that was in the top 10 best wall o' texts ever in this thread? :D

*AWESOME WALL OF TEXT*

As a side note, I really wonder why Garrus is so focused on fighting injustice/helping others/etc. Either he really just takes after his father or something serious happened to him in the past. I suppose if that were true we'd have heard of it by now, but who has time to talk about personal history when there are calibrations to be done? Or maybe I just like analyzing characters way too much.

Snipped for length. (but bloody good). This last paragraph is also something I've been thinking about.

I very much get the impression that Garrus joined C-Sec as a way to keep his father happy, but I think once he was in there, the stuff he saw and had to deal with was hard for him to detach himself from. He's quite a passionate person, but also one who lets stuff stay with him. Couple that with the red tape which prevented him from actually doing anything about half the stuff he had to deal with, and I reckon you have serveral years of festering frustration and a desire to do good. Especially since he could have been a Spectre.  In ME1, he comes over as idealistic and frustrated to me, which I think is a result of the above factors. In ME2, he is so much more driven to action, and I think that Shepard and Saren were the catalyst for that. Shepard gave Garrus the opertunity to make a real difference, and he saw what it was like to operate for the greater good free from red tape: years of pent up frustration finally had a release and direction for it. He is, quite literally, saving the galaxy and he loves it.

Then, Shepard dies. He goes back to his old life: same frustration, same beurocracy. It's too much. Garrus has outgrown that now and can't just sit back and go theough the motions. So he goes to Omega. Omega opens his eyes to the real depths of depravity in the galaxy. (The Citadel may have had soem bad stuff in it, but Omega is an entirely different beast). He starts to clean house: fight the good fight, save the galaxy one slum at a time. He builds a team, rallies people to his cause, and then Sidonus destroys all he has been working for in one vicious action. He takes the blame for that all on hisself and runs flat out in a quest for vengence from which he does not expect to emerge intact. If he can't save the galaxy, he might as well make sure he takes as many bad people with him before he goes.

Then, Shepard comes back... and suddenly he hasa spark of light again. She (he) gives him a new new direction.

Or at least, that was my feeling. lol. It would be interesting to see if there was actaully some 'major catalyst' external to this which caused his attitude, but I think it's perfectly plausable that it's been a cumulation of years of events coupled with a personality which is driven to do good in the first place (I can totally see high-school human Garrus being hed of RAG or something ), rather than one life-shattering one early on.

Still, fic speculation is always entertaining, and it gives me hope for an interesting character dev. line in ME3 (we need more Garrus backstory. Turian battle-sex aside, we know prescious little).

I love that I'm away from this thread for a day, and there are several text-wall pages to catch up on. This thread is a win thread, oh yes indeed!

@Chimevera The banner is awesome. ^_^ Yay and thanks to you! Sadly, the animated gif ones stick when I try to use them. :(

@Kotori. Awww. Your teacher sounds like a gigantic douche. (She was probably jelous.) You should play again for yourself though. I wish to god I'd kept up with my guitar.

And that solidfalcon video was just... yes. :wizard:

@stephi. I am intrigued and excited.

So I'm off to Belfast for a few days tomorrow, which will leave me Garrusless until at least Sunday (I am gonna have SO MUCH catching up to do here). In comiseration, I'm happy houring it up this eve, and doing his LM. Any takers? B)

Happy hour--count me in! :wizard:
Garrus's (spectacular) loyalty mission--not so much unfortunately :(
I'm replaying ME1 on Veteran.  Once I remember how the freaking controls work--I should make it off Eden Prime eventually!  Huzzah!

Humph. Hi Mrs. Senile Brain-like-a-sieve old lady aka "Mrs. Senile Brain-like-a-sieve old lady". Have you remembered how to crouch yet? Or have you remembered for a second and then forgot.

Crouching's awesome. I missed being able to crouch in ME2. And then I zoom in on Garrus and he taunts me by crouching without taking cover.
