Humph. Hi Mrs. Senile Brain-like-a-sieve old lady aka "Mrs. Senile Brain-like-a-sieve old lady". Have you remembered how to crouch yet? Or have you remembered for a second and then forgot.
I'm sorry...Do I KNOW you?

Ha, Janey. You almost always come in with a wall o' text. Love it.
Don't have much to add though. It's fun to speculate with the (little) information we have. I still hope we'll get to know more about Garrus in ME3. I'm curious about his relation with his dad. And what about his mother? If there's still a mother, of course. And a lot of other things I want to know.
So I'm off to Belfast for a few days tomorrow, which will leave me Garrusless until at least Sunday (I am gonna have SO MUCH catching up to do here). In comiseration, I'm happy houring it up this eve, and doing his LM. Any takers?
No happy hour for me tonight, but have fun in Belfast

No... you don't, you probably won't, and you probably never will. That's the problem with being senile, you see.
And, it depends on the situation, and skill.

On the plus side, I intend to hit at least one traditional music bar while I'm there and force the musicians to play 'Rare Old Mountain Dew' while I jig like a madwoman in the corner. I will be tihnking of you all AND IT WILL BE GLORIOUS!

You never gave me permission to roost on your lawn, anyway. I just roost in it anyway. You can't make me leave. I'll just fly up the tree.

That is actually possible. lol. Sorry. The problem is, I tend to have at least 10 pages or so of thread to catch upon, and I put it all down in a oner because I'm opinionated and overly-enthusiastic like that. And years of writing babble for drama essays is a hard habit to break. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie] Sorry. Heh heh.
Better than putting down all your catchup into a thousander.
Eh, you need a lot of text to express certain views, and it's good to have a n opinion (I think...). I don't really have one. I even have difficulties deciding between two flavours.

Oh, make sure someone makes a vid of you jigging around. And also make sure you have some facepaint on your face (scouter optional). Everyone who has ever won the internet in this thread will gladly hand over all those internets to you. XD
(I love Ireland, even though I've never been there. And yes I know Belfast is NORTHERN Ireland

I'd ask janeym27 to take pictures, reminiscent of Joker, but I don't think she'd have much reason to do so for us unless she does the hypothetical legendary jig. I haven't won an internet, yet, I don't think. But I'd endorse the internet giver outer person.

Hmmm.... make an ass of myself on the internets in order to win said internets? I make no promises. Video will wholley depend on how much wine I consume. lol (Hey, Garrus. Could you help with that?) There is also the issue of where to get a scouter from (I think carrying the sniper rifle may be a bad call)
Wonderful idea, innit? To make it even better, keep shouting Garrus' combat lines while jigging. "Impressive!" and "Perfect!" or something. I'm sure you'll drink enough :innocent:.
Oh oh, silly Garrus thread

Late For another thing, there's that comment he made about Septimus. "This is pathetic. What could a woman do to put you in this state?" That's not something you say if you've ever been in love--or "like", really. Even when I played ME1 I thought it was incredibly naive of him to say that.
I just started replaying ME1, and this totally stuck in my head last night. You're right, he's not like Alistair, who's totally inexperienced. Nor is he a widower like Thane or Carth. He's like some knight-errant who's too busy killing dragons to remember the other half of his job -- the maidens.
I get the feeling that turians are very...driven. They either vent by punching something or having a tiebreaker. And Garrus really seems to just punch things. Actually, considering my short fuse at the office...maybe that's why I like Garrus so much...it's like looking in the mirror. Eeep.

Anyway, I don't have anything profound to add, but all this talk of Garrus' mother has made me remember something I wondered about some time ago. On the one hand, Garrus says he grew up on Palaven. On the other hand, he says his father was C-Sec and that he "grew up watching his pictures on the vids after a big arrest." Now does that mean, Garrus was on Palaven while his dad was on the Citadel or does it mean they moved to the Citadel at some point? And if Garrus is on Palaven while his dad is on the Citadel, who is he with? And moreover, why would Papa Vakarian run halfway across the galaxy to get a job? They don't have cops on Palaven or something?
Also, I think the turians muster out of the military at the age of 30 which is when they become full citizens. There is no way Garrus is forty, and I have a feeling he was at C-Sec for a while, certainly long enough to get frustrated. Remember femshep asking "do you ever regret leaving C-Sec or the turian military?" Do you think he jumped ship on the military too? In order to get Spectre training and then to join C-Sec? It does seem like he left the military earlier than a turian normally would. Makes me wonder.

Garrus: They're both called Andrew?
Executor Pallin: They said you were good!
Chellick: Also because talking to them is an uphill struggle, isn't it, Pallin?
[Chellick gets hit on the head with a wastepaper basket]
Chellick: **** off!
Executor Pallin: Thank you, Chellick.

Well, we've kinda talked this one out before. I think Turians can leave the military before 30: they simply have to be in some kind of public service until they are 30. C-Sec probably counts, because the Turians have a vested intrest in galactic peace at that point. Garrus has clearly been in C-Sec for a while ("you've been in C-Sec a while. You must have seen some action", the fact he is an investagator in the wards, etc). You're right: there is no way Garrus is 40. I'd put him ages with Shepard, maybe slightly younger (which is why I think C-Sec service counts. That, and it makes sense that they would want young recruits at the height of their capabilities to patrol the jewel in the galatic crown). I think the codex says they stay in the military until 30, but also mentions that they can do 'civic service' until 30 instead...
What I wonder about (and I know I've wondered this on this thread recently) is what his status is within Turian society post Omega. I'm assuming serving with Shepard took him to 30 (so he completed the period of civic service expected of all turians), before he 'disappeared'. Now, Turian society is hierachical, and people are expected to contribute towards the greater good. How does Garrus' disappearence (they did not know Archangel was him) and seeming aligning with Cerberus, affect his standing in Turian society? Whatever the result, I'm guessing Papa Vakarian will not be too impressed....
