Heyo! Wanted to give a bump for my bro Garrus!

Thank you ^_^

I think Garrus is a great leader. Not because BW made it possible for him to survive while leading the two fire squads in the SM, but because he had a good operation going on on Omega. If he was a bad leader, he would've never found 10 squadmates who would stay loyal to the end. If he was a bad leader, his entire plan would go to hell a lot sooner. If he was a bad leader, he would've never managed to ****** off all those merc gangs. The plan went to hell when silly Sidonis noticed he didn't have a bigger right nut, and gave in to the threats from the merc gangs. You can't blame Garrus for that. I know he blames himself for not seeing it coming, but a betrayal is something that can happen to every leader, good or bad.

My shepard went renegade. He lied a bunch. Instead of scars, his nose grew instead. :P

Hi everyone Image IPB

I hope you don't mind me poking in for a bit?

Reading the discussion on why Garrus went to Omega kind of got me thinking...There's a lot that Garrus and Warden Kuril have in common (except that Garrus isn't corrupt).  Both worked in law enforcement.  Both were frustrated with the red tape and seeing criminals get away.  Both left to solve the problem in their own way in the Terminus Systems.  IIRC, Garrus even approves of the premise Purgatory was founded on.  Do you suppose Garrus might have eventually become another Warden Kuril had he never met Shepherd?

No, I think he would have been killed by the mercs on Omega. Garrus dosen't have good leadership skills.

The suicide mission thinks differently.

This. My thoughts exactly. Garrus was a good leader, the fact as you said that he managed to get all of those gangs wanting to destroy his team is evidence enough. He was doing things right and doing them well.

Um, the only way the mercs could get his squad was to lure him away plus he's a good squad leader in the suicide mission and the only one inspiring enough that no one protests.  Even Miranda acknowleges "well, at least he knows what he's doing."  Having people on your team die doesn't automatically make you a bad leader.  Um, Virmire? Or how about Shep's ships getting blown to pieces and her getting spaced?  It's not because she's a bad leader.   Sometimes the odds are just too high no matter how good you are.

Leaving your squad and getting attacked by by a ship full of 6' foot mindless incect slaves are two diffrent things.

Garrus could have sent someone with Sidonis, because you don't leave your team without there leader. Garrus should have preped his team for if there HQ got attacked, but he did not. He might be able to keep a team together in a firefight but other than that he can't lead.

Post fail.  I'm not going to get into a fight with you.  You don't know what you're talking about.  That is all.

And Shep DID leave the crew while she went gallivanting off on the shuttle to who knows where.  She was not there when the Collectors attacked the Normandy.  You can prepare for some things and other things you can't prepare for.  How do you know the assault on Garrus' base was a clean one?  Whose to say a bomb wasn't used?  Plus, his squad may have made a very valiant stand to tremendous effect, but in case you didn't notice, there were like a hundred mercs assaulting the base and the tunnels hand't been collapsed yet.  Ten guys against a hundred or more plus a gunship and multiple mechs attacking from multiple directions?  Those odds are too high.  And Garrus has got to have a second in command.  He has to sleep sometimes.  The squad is "alone" at least some of the time.  It has to be.  They were fine for months.  The odds were simply too high this time.  One mistake does NOT equal instant bad leader especially when he went for months with whirlwind success.  No one is perfect.

Ok, I'm gonna stop feeding the trolls nows.

You go Ragabul the Ontarah- clueless troll was clueless.

Also: I have locked in teh Jacob romance. I have...mixed feelings. There was potential there, there truly was. But in the end, I have no qualms dumping him for Garrus.

Oh god, not that again! D: Ieeeeeee *clutches her Widow to her*

I'm almost finished with my Insanity playthrough. I'm scared of the Suicide Mission, though. XD Garrus will make it work, though. I'm sure he will. <3 Because he's A GREAT LEADER. No, really. He is. He motivated a group of people to gather around him, like Shepard did in ME1 and lead them into a fully successful operation until one of his own, who was weaker than he was, was subverted by the badguys. He had a batarian on his team, who he admitted was not a nice person. And a Salarian who he thought was a former STF member... Someone who was one part of an elite military group would not fall in and merrily go along with a bad leader.

In short: Garrus rules. The game spells out the fact that he was a good leader. Cheers! /raises a glass

Alright guys, I'm calling it a night (...or morning?). lol, I feel sorry for my BF. Ever since I discovered this thread, we almost never go to bed at the same time anymore. In fact, I always join him in bed when he has only 3 more hours to sleep before he wakes up to go to bed. Poor guy. For him I hope I get tired of my Garrus addiction soon. (lolwut?)

Goodnight and happy wall-o'-texting about Garrus ^^. Remember to stay hydrated! (How's that vodka flowing, kglaser? :P)

Whoever says that garrus has bad leadership skills has flawed logic. He obviously must of had great leadership skills to keep a team for 2 years until being betrayed, and his leadership skills on the suicide mission has gotten everyone out alive, at least for me.
