I did a very bizarre sketch today. I replicated The Last Supper with Garrus and his squad. Sidonis is in the place of Judas.

How did you decide what the other 10 people looked like?

That sounds interesting.

Perhaps I should consider saving it to a compatability mode and re-uploading. That shouldn't take horribly long.

Lemon, this is so much win.....

I'm surprised you got through it all in 10 minutes. Or were you just popping back over mid reading to comment on what you thought so far?

Alright, I promised Mariquis to upload some soundfiles indicating that BW thought about implementing same sex relations in ME2. Click here to download. It includes femShep talking about Tali, Jack and Miranda and manShep about not screwing Garrus during Mordin's sex ed lesson, and femShep/Jack renegade scene.

Garrus

YAY!  Thank you so much :o

Howdy ya'll. Got a question for you folks.

Looking around for a fanfic where Shep and Garrus are bros. Does one exist?

BOOYAH. www.fanfiction.net/s/5753454/6/Interstitium it's only one chapter in a longer fic, but it's soo good. An excellent Garrus character analysis and some bro interaction with MShep.

In other news- I had to be IRL all day and I missed you guys....so. Much. Especially since I'm forcing myself to do this PT as a branching one and romance all the various guys and dump them for one another....*gags* Jacob's rejection made me both sad (aww, I hurted his feelings) and really PO'd (he's gonna spaz out on me like that for a not-even fling?) I had been planning on finishing each branch out just for fun, but that kinda sucked out my impetus to get his romance scene. Image IPB I will be doing a: -kill all humans run and a -kill everyone but Garrus and Kasumi run. I'll be rising to the challenge, because the last time I tried getting people killed I couldn't even off half of my squad. So, skipping some upgrades and loyalty missions for best results.

Hmmm....also, funny story, when I rejected Thane for Garrus, Garrus initially gave the "don't want a stupid love triangle" line. When I dumped Jacob for Garrus, it was "I know you've got something going on and I don;t want to disturb things" line. That makes this the second or third time I've changed a PT only slightly but got a different line. Image IPB But milking every last drop of content from this game is kind of the point of PT8. (PT7, or the MShep, is still kind of on hold....I just can't get into it. Image IPB)

Well I did include a salarian and a batarian. The rest are a mix of humans, turians, and another salarian.

Since I'd never be able to explore any of the breakup dialogue myself (I just caaaaaaan't!), I'd be curious to know what exactly each of the three guys says when you dump them for one of the others. I'm assuming it's a different reaction depending on when you do it and who you dump them for. We already have Jacob's cuttlefish line (which makes me want to give him the airlock treatment), but what's this love triangle line from Garrus?

I believe its the one you get if you talk to him while still keeping Thane on the hook.

I don't remember word for word.  I've tried not to keep stringing Garrus along while I've got my Shep checking out the other LI's.  And I haven't yet recruited Thane on this game.

i have the same problem.  I can't bring myself to string any of the guys along.  I did it once to Jacob to get the cuttlebone line but I still felt bad.  My Shepard shall not be a pimp.  One turian is plenty for her.

I only did it in the first run because I hadn't decided who to leave Kaidan for for this Shep.  So, she flirted with everyone.  And I felt bad. ;)

I know I posted it in a new thread altogether, but I made a tribute to Garrus and other romance options in an AMV I put together (content is a bit surprising, but you'd be surprised at what Garrus can do).

Amen to that, as I'm sure we all concur. The only reason my interest was sparked was that, if Garrus actually calls it a love triangle, it sounds like it could be a confirmation that it's more than just a fling in his eyes, for anybody who still doubted it.

Of course, never having heard the line and never planning to go so far as to hear it, I could just be talking nonsense.

Best friend, closest ally, lover, and probably the only person who seems to give a damn about what happens to him.  I have a feeling that until one of them dies, where ever you find one, you'll find the other.

I agree, but there *are* people who think so. Having now gone through all of the romance convos with Garrus, I can see where they're coming from. The conversations do revolve heavily around the mechanics of the deed. It's understandable, considering the hefty physical differences, but still "when should I book a room?" made me groan. I mean, really, Shep? Way to be suave. I know she's not the epitome of femininity (gosh, the black dress from Kasumi's LM looks great, but Shep walks and moves like a MAN), but surely she didn't have to be quite *that* blunt?

I can understand that they made Shep into a horny monster truck because of people complaining about "unwanted" romances in ME1, where you sometimes picked choices that appeared friendly, and suddenly, you had Kaidan wagging metaphorical eyebrows at you. But it does feel a bit like the opposite end of the spectrum. I honestly preferred the way the romances were handled in ME1, even if the possible choices were far from being stellar. It felt more natural, less rushed, and there was plenty there to reassure compulsive worriers that there were feelings involved (eg. Kaidan's "that's what I lo--what I appreciate about you" during the lockdown scene). In ME2, you have to read between the lines more, especially since you're not being given all that many lines to start with.

That being said, I have no doubt that the Garrus romance is more than just a fling. You don't get this adorably flustered over a fling, especially if you have previous experience with casual sex. You don't offer the other person a way out of a one-nighter. You don't say stuff like "this is about us". But there are people out there who are worried about not getting a more distinct confirmation of the sentimental side of the relationship. I'm sure the Thane-romancers have a lot less to worry about in that department. From what I've heard, his romance is serious the whole way through (and incredibly depressing).

However, there are also people who find that the "non-human fetish" comment means that there’s very little physical attraction involved. I was curious to hear it in context, and that's not what it sounds like to me. It's brought up after the "closer to home" part, IIRC: Garrus is just admitting that it would feel more natural, both for her and for him, to pick someone of their own species. He doesn’t normally go for humans, because he finds his own kind generally more attractive, as would be natural for just about any species (except maybe asari), and he’s never had that deep of an emotional bond with a human before to justify reconsidering. That’s not to say Shep grosses him out, and he’s only coasting on boatloads of respect and trust. That would simply not be possible, unless he somehow got his hands on some turian Viagra. It’s more something along the lines of: had it only been a matter of physical attraction, he would’ve picked a turian over a human, because the attraction would’ve been more familiar. But since it’s clearly more than just physical, he’s willing to explore an attraction that he may not wholly understand, because there’s also an emotional attachment to go with it. I don’t think that, deep down inside, he’s going “ewwww, squishy bits! must think about hot turian chicks!”; more like “hmm…squishy bits…maybe I actually like squishy bits? I wonder why? Wargl! Confused! Cue awkward metaphors and cheesy music!” A similar reasoning applies to Shep, without the "wargl!" part Image IPB

@ AngryP1xel: That was a lovely statement there.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.  A fling??? I think not.  I've showed both my sister's and my husband my dear Garrus's paramour scene, and we've all come to the same conclusion... this is truly virgin territory.  For both of them.  Awkwardness is going to be there.  Self-doubt absolutely.  Considerations and reconsiderations were both given by both parties,

Each gave the other an out, neither one took it.  From an outsider looking in (from what I can tell) he liked her from the beginning (i.e. certain comments he says during ME) but what's he to think about that?  She's the commanding officer.  In the second one though even his comments when they first meet up seemed like he was completely lost without her.  Shepard herself had really let her hair down and seemed more human compared to what her former life showed.  She was all rank and protocol.  Feelings didn't fit in.  Well the answer being that well obviously... she died.  Simply put, life's precious and in one second something that you wish you had could be completely gone.  Chance lost permanently.  She lives in the now and both experience the same feelings about the same things, they just express themselves differently.

Meh, consarn rambling words...
