Best friend, closest ally, lover, and probably the only person who seems to give a damn about what happens to him.  I have a feeling that until one of them dies, where ever you find one, you'll find the other.

<3<3You just gave me warm fuzzies.

Perhaps I should consider saving it to a compatability mode and re-uploading. That shouldn't take horribly long.

EDIT: Here we go. Try this one.

Lemon, this is so much win.....

I'm surprised you got through it all in 10 minutes. Or were you just popping back over mid reading to comment on what you thought so far?

I read through half last night

Do let me know what you think once you've finished, eh?

=)

I'm curious about Collider's piece, as well.

Anyway, I just read an article about women with high-pitched voices tend to fall for (deep-voiced) manly men. So, who are the girls here with a high-pitched voice? :P

Curious. Apparently I used to have a very high pitched voice (and abused it) when I was young, but it's broken quite a bit, now.

No idea about the different name ranges, though (I mean tenor, alto, etc...)

Base, baritone, tenor, alto, soprano. I feel like I'm missing one, but I can't for the life think of which one it is.

That would be mezzo-soprano, the female equivalent of a baritone. :P *is a choir geek*

And, to continue to buck the trend of said article, I'm an alto and my husband is a solid baritone. Soo....eh. :P

How bad is this. I had to have at least one save on this PT not dump Jacob, because of how I felt about leading him on and dumping him (twice!). However, it's just going to work out that this will also be my "rocks fall everyone dies" SM save. After which I will return to the Normandy and romance Garrus guilt-free. :D

Contralto is the female equivalent of Tenor, I think.

YESSSS! Gah, Garrus bringing a serenade.... His voice is just super. Oohhh BK.

Anyway, I have social life night... Don't worry, I'm still thinking of this thread with every sip I take from my Baileys. Now, we're going to watch Shaun of the Dead.

Alright, I've gots a random question for all the Vakarianites. What do you think the Shepard conversation between Garrus and his dad would be like? I've been skitting it out in my head and sent a rough draft to my sis. She thought it was hilarious, but I want to know what other people would think before I fly off the deep end...

I think it depends on your Shepard.

I would also think that it would have something to do with the timing and reason for the convo in the first place. *shrugs* I hate making everything overly complicated.

I don't know really. I'm so overly a perfectionist when it comes to writing, that it ends up being a diatribe of repetition. It doesn't help with the exceptionally large case of writer's block that I've had for the past month. I remember the ideas that I was having with my fanfic, but am stalled when it comes to putting everything in to words with out it being choppy and disconnected. Bah! Frustrations!

I can only tell you how a convo would go with Meghan Shepard, Paragrade, Vanguard, Earthborn, Sole-Survivor.

I think once you know your Shepard, you will know what she'd say.

But it wouldn't technically be between Shepard and dad, it would be between father and son about Shepard. I guess is what I'm saying. I mean I know how my Shepard would respond (paragon, soldier, colonist, sole survivor).

It also depends on how you've treated Garrus.  Did you paragon him?  Renegade him?  How did Saleon die?  What happened with Sidonis?  How do you percieve his relationship with his father?  Is it a case of never measuring up?  Is he always trying to make his dad happy?  Has he given up doing so?   Is his father a racist?

We don't have enough data on his father and his relationship thereof to do anything but speculate. But I'm pretty sure, as long as you "got" Garrus, no one would judge your convo since it's entirely subjective.

All ideas must be run with upon their inception before they scamper back into their holes like pyjacks.

I'm sure the Thane-romancers have a lot less to worry about in that department. From what I've heard, his romance is serious the whole way through (and incredibly depressing).

Heh, sorry to zero in on this part of your excellent post, but I can't help but repost this gem from Hyrule_Gal (page 205 of this thread, and I laughed myself off my chair).  Here's her whole original post:

so hard to, I don't know...make his romance so freakin DIRE?

Me:
You have a cool voice, an interesting art design , a cool jacket AND

become my love intre-

Thane: I have a dead wife

Me: Ah...ok, I guess I can overloo-

Thane: I also have issues with my son

Me: You have a kid too huh? *eyes dart to the door*

Thane: Did I ever tell you how I feel about you siha

Me: Siha?

Thane: Yes, its a name of a Goddess

Me: Wow..that's so romantic...maybe we could-

Thane: I called my DEAD WIFE that

Me: Right, anything else?

Thane: I'm going to die in a few months

Me:...ok *leaves to find Garrus*

As for the biological bit, I love the "I don't have a human fetish I SWEAR" line, because it's subtly saying "It's OK if it's you." I wrote a fic where Garrus is mentally worrying about not feeling physically attracted to her for just that reason- biologically and naturally it's his own species' females he's attracted to. But in the end, it's the psychological desire (dare we say the L word?) that brings him about. Image IPB Eventually I think the auto-physical attraction would follow.

Linky?

.......Okay. It was my first fanfic EVER, and I've been thinking very seriously about redoing it entirely. YOu know, perfecting the art of my Garrus love and all that. But here it is (and it is rated M for " Man, if you're not into adult situations and xenophilia do NOT click this link!!")
www.fanfiction.net/s/5786900/1/

I think that was the very first Garrus/F'Shep romance fic I ever read.  I still really like it.

Different romances appeal to different people. Some people find the dark and tragic nature of Thane's romance really attractive, the same way others find Garrus' rough but charming nature or even Jacob's gentle if cheesy come ons attractive. Given that I'm not a woman, I can't speak to the appeal of either three, but I can say that of them, Garrus is (in my eyes) the most interesting and best developed character.

I reluctantly admit that I can't automatically agree with you Nivenus, simply because I haven't played through the other two romances yet. I've got a Vanguard who's romancing Thane. I lost all desire to play through that partway through and went back and did more stuff with my Infiltrator Garrus-girl, but now that's done...I'll finish Thane's romance. Probably with Jacob's, I'll look up the whole thing on YouTube.

eta:  My knee-jerk response was to agree and say that Garrus's was by far the best...and then I laughed at myself as I realized I haven't finished the other ones, so um, I can't really say that. D'Oh. :P

There's too little Garrus in here just now so I am reposting this to move the thread up the page and ask what people thought of this since it was somewhat controversial before.
