I think it depends whether Shepard leaned paragon or renegade. Garrus' father is certainly a very paragon individual, judging by Garrus' description of him. Of course, even paragon Shepard tends to break the rules or bend them from time to time.

I know it's pointless to ask this, but I do wish we knew *something* about Garrus's mother (and yes I know it was being discussed earlier). Anybody volunteer to write a fic with his mom in it?

It would be funny if his father is disappointed but his mother is overjoyed. A lot of Bioware characters seem to have their stories focus on one parent so I'm not surprised that we haven't heard anything about Garrus' mother.

Kind of weird isn't it? Even spacer Shepard only gets one parent beyond backstory text. Makes me wonder if s/he isn't on good terms with their father.

I tend to think that it's just because it's easier to talk about one parent rather than both. It is weird though how they do it, because sometimes it's like they're in a parallel universe where their mother or father never existed.

Hi again, Lividity. Good to see you here two days running (although I'm sorry you had to run away to do it...now I am completely curious about the Tali thread. LOL)

The last serious Garrus thing that came up was Garrus's parents and why we don't hear anything about his mother. That led to a discussion of why we never hear about more than one parent for anyone in the ME universe.
