Expanding on the cheap-a** Shepard thing, I always, ALWAYS bought Garrus the best sniper rifle I could possibly afford in ME1 (and the best armor) and shortchanged everyone else including myself if necessary. LOL

I think the idea that Garrus simply repainted his armor is a reasonable enough theory, though it makes Shepard, walking around with his/her several thousand credits, look kind of like a cheap***.

But it still has the burns...why didn't he paint over them?

Garrus: It just looked too cool. B)

I tend to be able to easily distinguish Garrus from the other Turians because Garrus has that aura of awesomeness.

I still accidentally shoot at him from time to time and then I immediately feel bad.  If this were a real situation I would constantly feel the need to prove that I am racially (speciel-ly?) sensitive and reassure my alien comrades that even though I am always shooting at them I really do recognize their uniqueness as individuals.

Spectre gear for Garrus ftw
I ended up giving everyone spectre gear since Shepard was so rich in ME1

Turian Biology...

Given their body structure how do you think they would be prepared if you were forced to eat one? They look rather hardened. Slow roasted maybe?

Garrus must be a really good painter.

It can't be easy to paint around scorch marks.

I can't help but shoot at Garrus sometimes. He has this habit of jumping out of cover and running right in front of my freaking gun. :P

Well if they weren't trying to constantly get in the way, there would be no problem.

I've never had problems shooting my teammates. But then again I tend to tell my squad mates to stay behind cover all the time.

As repeatedly screamed in the survival game, you can't eat turians or quarians.  "Do not ingest."  As for eggs, there are some birds and reptiles that have live births, so that's no indication.  Plus ~alien biology~ and ~speculation~.

Someone really does need to tell Garrus that the rocket-to-the-face thing only works once.

Indeed Ray. Aliens don't have to follow the biology of earth's species

Someone needs to ask Mordin... Pretty sure he couldn't make any follow-up questions after his medical explanations any more uncomfortable...

Yes but assume that you are another Turian or a Quarian. I think you'd have to roast em over a long period of time or else you would have a tough time chewing.

Oh we've circled that path many times.  It usually comes down to "it's all speculation" and "can we please stop talking about genitals now for the love of god?!?!"

No offense taken. I merely brought it up in response to the "Garrus baby pictures" idea.

I do find it interesting though that talk of biology met with a much colder reception than it would have in the Tali or Liara threads, where I have broached such topics before.

Laying eggs might work yea. Turians apparently have some characteristics similar to birds, or at least that's what Anderson allegedly compared Turians to. Then again, Turians have been compared to many animals.

Mostly they're compared to dinosaurs or birds, which, along with crocodiles, are both archosaurids. They certainly lack feathers though and, as many biology discussions on the forums have pointed out, such comparisons are analogous at best given the fact that we're talking about entirely different biospheres.

Eggs seem most likely to me though Mordin's comments indicate that turians may be closer to human anatomy in certain important respects than that might assume. And while, as far as I know, no viviparous archosaurids exist, viviparous snakes do.

I'd really love it if BioWare put together a big "Codex" type book at one point. I don't find it very likely, but I'd buy that the moment it hit the shelves. I'm into fluff that way.

I imagine removing the plates may help, that's why you scale fish.

That's just Onyx. At least he isn't spamming Aliens pictures. Actually, his question's kind of weirdly on topic.

I think turians are pretty fleshy beneath the plates, which are themselves cartilage, not bone or ivory.

Some reptiles, yes (though "reptile" is a much ill-defined term than "mammal" or "bird"). Birds, AFAIK, have no viviparous species.
