Really now?  Hrm.  I need to get my paws on this art book.  So much awesome I'm missing.
Turians are probably one of my favorite races out there right now.  They look alien yet not in a lot of ways.  I love the wasp waist, the plating, the flairing mandibles that look so cute whent hey laugh or smile.
So much cooler than rubber headed aliens.

Some of the designs for the turians looked pretty strange, some of them even had faces that reminded me that of oriental dragons. Those were designs for Saren...

Ahhh and the dragon influence makes me pleased.  I've always thought turians in general look like a bizzare cross between a dragon-kind and felines.  Must be the way the lines fall.  The mandibles makes it strange though.  Hrm.  I'll have to see if I can find this art book.  eBay might have it, if BioWare doesn't anymore...

You're like me, except swap fanfiction for fanart.

Damn the lazy.

MUAUAHAHAHAA!! /gleeful hand-rubbing ensues

But yeah, I've never posted any of my saucy ramblings, either.  I consider myself to be a competent writer, was even offered a paying job once, but not of *that* genre.  I'm too afraid of rejection, myself.

I don't think it's sharp. It's made of cartilage so it's probably even somewhat (not very) flexible.

That's like trying to twist your nose to the side!

Not fun!

I said not very. Probably still wouldn't want to lie down on it. I just don't think it would puncture a pillow.

I would believe that only their beak is flexible enough for that. After all; chafing.

I wondered about that fringe thing. One fic I read employed extra pillows for the collar thingy, though.

Neither do I.

It just seems like it would be particularly painful.

I've seen a few of the ME1 armors that have that little handle (which made it all the more difficult to NOT want to tug on Garrus's when he was in said armor) but I just noticed that armor has some interesting tubbing too.

OT, but WTH is up with Mordin's armor?  He has a little handle on the front like that. /confused
Can't be "sexy beast-related" so...why?

I've seen that on a few other salarians, I think it's just a fashion thing?  They have an odd shape to their chests too, so maybe it's just for fashion.  I know a few Shepard's who'd use that as a SBH on Mordin though ^.^

As for the fringe clipping, I'd like to think that Fringe is slightly bendy, like cartilidge.  So it's possible that while mildly uncomfortable if he had to lay his head "flat" it wouldn't be like his neck is stuck er something.

But it gives rise tot he question: what the hell do Turians sleep on?  How do they sleep?  The chest/back plates don't exactly make lying down on the belly or back look comfy, the head would hang down.  What if their "pillows" were something that went between the head and the back plate?  Somethign that cushioned the head, but didn't interfer with the natural "armor."

That's the great thing about kink memes on livejournal... anonymous posting!  Your dignity need not be destroyed along with your shame.  And for fanart, rule34.paheal.net.

And I choose to believe it's not clipping.  It is actually just puncturing a hole in her pillow.  That will be Shepard's Garrus pillow from then on.

I never really got the avian look from them other than the fact that they have beaks. They always looked more like draconian raptors to me. With metal faces.

I couldn't care less about integrity. If peole don't like what I write, then they don't have to read.

I just don't think anything I have written along those lines is up to my standards.

That is brilliant.

As for pillows, many cultures used to have pillows made of wood or stone.  That would lead to less chance of fringe-related damage.

I always find it funny how people say "Oh just write for yourself!" When I can't.

If I wanted to write for myself, I'd write in my journal. When I write a fic, I'm usually writing it because A) it won't leave me alone and I need to get it out SOMEHWHERE or 2) because I want to share.

Now if only the internal censor would turn off, I could churn out fics like some people I've seen. x.x

I think one of the best fanfic writer's I've ever had the pleasure of reading was someone who wrote 50 episodes of Gargoyles... after the series was done. Good lord. Woman was spot on. They were all fics, but they felt like an episode. It was probably bad that that was my first fanfic experience (or maybe good?) because then I think all the crap I just wrote wouldn't measure up to it.

Tangent is tangent.

Pillows made out of wood? Really? Ouch! I wonder why we need them though? Is it purely a comfort thing? If so, I wonder if turians would find a pillow even comfortable. Possibly they'd have a cultural/alien equivalent.

BIOWARE, WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT TURIAN PILLOWS LOOK LIKE! >.>

Indeed.  I think this is an egregious oversight.

Actually, where does Garrus sleep on the SR2?  Or the SR1 for that matter?  Under the Mako?  Shepard gets such nice quarters...Garrus doesn't even get fixed armor unless you shell out extra creds.
