I noticed. I just stated playing DAO today. I was surprised that my character doesn't have spoken lines everywhere like in ME; also, that the graphics aren't as good. I guess I have been spoiled by ME's gorgeousness and, um...lini-ness(?). LOL
/disclaimer: I don't judge a game solely on appearance and some of my favorite games are either 20 years old or even interactive fiction, so not trying to diss DAO especially since I just started playing it. Just a first impression.
I woke up in the game and a girl ran up to me, saying something. I picked something as a reply, and instead of hearing my character talk, that girl immediately responded again. I thought it was a glitch at first, then I figured that the PC doesn't have a voice

. I like it more that Shepard has her own voice. With the dialogue wheel, you're not really sure what she's going to say. Just imagine Garrus talking about sparring, you say you want to ease tension together, he says "owww I didn't know you wanted to spar" and instead of "that's not what I meant" you can already read the reply ("we could test your reach and my flexibility"). It's more fun with a dialogue wheel imo.
