thought his eyepiece is equivalent to wearing glasses, maybe he is mildly blind in one eye.

Or maybe he's so used to wearing it that seeing without it seems strange.

I posted a picture with his eyepiece a page back. Seems like he uses it to zoom in for better headshots.

I tend to think that the eyepiece is for firearm accuracy.

Reposting because of new page:

Here are some other questions or topics for discussion:

a) Garrus' father - would he ever approve of Shepard being with his son? Only if Paragon, or never? Would whether Shepard accepted Spectrehood in ME2 have a factor?

B) How do you think Garrus would respond if his father disapproved of Shepard/the relationship/Garrus fighting alongside Shepard?

c) How do you think paragon or renegading Garrus will affect how he is in ME3? A little? A lot? How do you want it to play out?

d) Do you think we will be able to recruit races against the Reapers in ME3? Would do you think about that? Is it too much like Dragon Age?

e) Elevators or loading screens?

f) If you could have designed Garrus' DLC armor, how would you design it?

The eyepiece reminds me of Saito's Hawkeye prosthetic-eye from Ghost in the Shell.

Hi there, fellow Garrus fans. Just joined this fine group a few minutes ago and am looking forward to participating in this fine thread. :)

I was wondering (and if this has been discussed before I do so apologize): has anyone thought of the possibility that Executor Pallin from ME1 may be Garrus's father? I can't explain why they wouldn't have the same surname but Pallin does seem to act in the exact manner that Garrus described his father to Commander Shepard.

Again, if this is a topic that has long-since been debated, I apologize in advance.

Elevators please. They almost seemed to take less time than the loading screens sometimes would, and besides, the team would have hilarious conversations.

Hmm that sounds like something Garrus would indicate if Pallin was really his father. A lot of Turians think heavy regulation is the way to go so Pallin may not be very unique.

I like loading screens myself. I like the inter-party conversations, but they should do them like KOTOR/KOTOR TSL or maybe Dragon Age.

I'd like a mix, really. Elevators on hub areas like Illium or the Citadel, loading screens on missions.

Sometimes I wondered if Garrus' father was a former executer though.

That's actually a good idea. They may just end up doing that, I think. Most people don't seem to like the loading screens (I do though).

I was fine with loading screens during missions. But in hubs the convos were just so awsome. And the loading screens in the Normandy just took SO LONG (i'm on an xbox, so that might be why).

Welcome! ^_^

Yes, we have discussed that once, but that's aaaages ago. I can't remember what we thought of, though. One thing I do remember is an explanation for the different surnames, and that's that maybe Garrus has his mother's surname. We don't know how that works in turian society.

Other than that, I don't think Pallin is his father. I don't know. It would be funny if we already met 'Papa Vakarian' without knowing it XD

@ Collider: I'll think about the new topics ;). Some have wall o' text potential.

I don't care what they do, so long as I don't have textures just pop in like they did in ME1.

Current discussions:
a) Garrus and Tali being in ME3 and how you would feel if one or both wasn't in
B) Thane surviving or not surviving to ME3
c) Turian facial tattoos - are they paint or real tattoos?
d) Do Turian politicians on the Citadel change their colony tattoos to something else?
e) Should Garrus still have his scars in ME3?
f) Garrus armor DLC - worth the money? Does it look good?

1. I think Garrus and Tali should definitely be in ME3, but I wouldn't feel too put out if they weren't useable squadmates. I mean, I missed having Wrex around in ME2, but appreciated his role as leader of his people. I can see Tali definitely taking on that type of role for the Quarians. There's a part of me that can see Garrus coming into his own as a military leader in ME3, but not as much as him remaining a squadmate.
2. Thane's survival into ME3 depends on where ME3 starts. Within two years, then sure, easily. Some time after two years, then need some excellent writing to convince me. Fifty thousand years after the end of ME2, then sure, easily...
3. I asked a friend what he thought about Turian facial markings and he said he thought they were permanent, but given medical technology of the era, permanency doesn't exactly mean as permanent as you might think.
4. I wonder just how significant the colony tattoos are in modern Turian times. What about the Turians of the Heirarchy worlds? But if they weren't significant, then why continue having them as predominently as we end up seeing? I can see the tattoos starting to lack colony significance, but the design has cultural heritage. Like a colony had been known for its starship craftsmen once, so those with that tattoo identify with that kind of heritage moreso than the colony itself.
5. I can see Garrus wanting to keep the scars as a reminder of the incident, to motivate him to do better in the future. But I could see the cybernetics and scars being a little more integrated.
6. The DLC armor isn't my ideal, but it looks good enough. And the only reason I even bought it was for that one piece of armor -- I hardly ever use the one for Jack because the shades cover her highly expressive eyes and I don't like Thane's outfit at all. Worth $2? It's like.... is the annoyance of his broken armor more than the annoyance of foregoing coffee for a day? Yes. I don't know why, but yes. I played the game enough times to make it worth it. Even so, I tend to wait until I'm some portion through the game before I switch the armor -- Garrus should work with the damaged suit for a little while at least.

Legion: "Shepard-Commander..." (Looks at Garrus, who gives him a thumbs up.) "You have a waist which is very supportive. Vakarian-Crewman tasked us with relaying this data to you."

What exactly is an executor on the Citadel? Haven't played ME1 in a while.

Commisioner Gordon, basically.
