And wait, miri fans and garrus fans are close? I didn't know that. In fact i thought most Mirianda, along with liara and ashely fans kinda hate garrus.

There's Tali fans (those who like Tali, but don't romance her), Talimancers, and then my personal nemesis: taliwhackers.

In regards to the suicide run, I found the Game Informer article interesting even though many people on this forum did a good job at researching how the formula works without Bioware input. The part that interests me in particular was the order in which squadmates die during the "hold the line" sequence. I don't know if Garrus's early death means Samara/Morinth, Legion, and Thane actually have a higher defense score than him. I'd always assumed his defense score was second only to Grunt.

Or maybe it signifies the more selfless attitude Garrus has versus the other two tough hitters. Think Zaeed and Grunt would save their own skins before sacrificing themselves for another squadmate.

No problem, it's just I am trying to get the Tali and miri alliance back on track since it's a little strained, I did't mean to cause a huge up roar last night. Too me Tali is liek a little sister and a good friend to my main Shepard. I was in now way saying that Tali is a sister to all the Shepards just to mine.

alot of miri fans (including me) love Garrus. Ity's just alot of miri fans tend to stick to her suppor thread, where I go to the other support threads and talk about my fav characters. Garrus is my fourth fav character in ME universe, hes behind Wrex, Miri and Legion.

Garrus is teh best Turian ever

See, I had always figured the Ashley/Kaidan/Liara fans were united while Garrus fans united with the Tali fans. There seems to be some sort of sympathy between the Thane/Jack fans as well.

Of course, this left the Miranda fans with only the Jacob fans to form an alliance. Heavy risk....

Okay, I don't really buy into the whole fan alliances thing, but that's because everyone should know Shepard models himself after such smooth operators as James Bond and Blasto.

Same, I am a Tali fan, and I view her as a sister like character. Man was that a fun night at the Tali thread <_<. The Tali thread is becoming more of a Talimancer thread, where Miri and Garrus are still fan threads. I have a couple of Shepards who romanced him and all my male Shepards have a bromance with him. Garrus and Wrex are Shepards true friends

When I catch myself getting too involved in just the romance side of the Garrus discussions, I try to change the subject somewhat if I feel I have been talking about it too long.  I am well aware there are plenty of people who don't like him "that way" but recognize his awesomeness as a character so I don't want to drive away all those people 
Plus I love him just as a character as well.  My Garrus love is multi-faceted.

When i was there people where rude to me, was kind of dropping in for tali support and i was kind of casted out. I think i remember one person telling me to leave. And no i wasn't trolling either.

It's confirmed by Bioware that Garrus, Zaeed, and Grunt all have the same contribution to the defense score and they are the three highest.



Garrus dies earlier, I think, because he's more likely to take a risk to help somebody else, compared to Zaeed who's watching his own hide, and Grunt who doesn't care so much about saving his allies as killing his enemies.

I don't agree with you but I do understand. As to the Miri hate in our thread I don't particularly like it but Miri and Tali's relationship is strained, which naturally causes some animosity among their respective fans. Its not right or good or even deserved but there it is

It's good to see a non Miri fan call her Miri but I can understand the bitterness. Why in the hell did Bioware have to put Miri's sex scene in the engine room <_<

I don't think playing the same romance each time makes you obsessed or anything like that. As they say, "to each his own", and "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Besides, thanks to the modern miracle of YouTube, whoever's curious about other romance scenes and such can see anything they want there.

This, I prefer to romance miri if I am a male Shepard because I like her character, same as if I am a female Shepard, I always tend to romance Garrus.

The one time I explained why I like Tali as a character, I got flamed by another Tali fan because apparently my idea of the character didn't fit with his. It was frustrating.

First of all, hold-the-line deaths will happen in this order: unloyal squadmates, Mordin, Tali, Kasumi, Jack, Miranda, Jacob, Garrus, Samara/Morinth, Legion, Thane, Zaeed, Grunt. I thought Garrus would be right before Zaeed (it also only lists Zaeed and Grunt for holding the line to save others), but that's what it says.

 

Wow, that list actually surprises me a bit.  
- Kasumi would be first, since she's pretty much non-combatant (thief not fighter).  
- Tali and Mordin, both special ops types so not really made for just enduring long battles and Tali first because she's younger/less experienced. 
- Thane would be next, because he uses stealth and when you're 'creating a distraction' stealth doesn't help.  Talented, but not hold-the-line-ish.
- Jacob or Legion, both seem capable but neither seem hugely talented in that arena.  
- Jack or Zaeed , because they're turbo powerful/strong/willful and clearly berserkers/hard to put down, but kind of careless (looking at that final cutscene just before Jack goes on the Normandy with you or how Zaeed caused an explosion where he would of died if Shep hadn't been there). 
- Miranda -- I have no idea why she was so low on the list considering during the Lazarus escape sequence Jacob was all "You kidding?  A couple mechs won't put her down," and despite being specifically targeted and helping you escape she still kicked ass and beat you to the shuttle.  Miranda's a tough cookie.  
- Garrus, because hell, Garrus lasted for days fending off three entire merc groups in a singular location even when they started recruiting freelancers.  That's hundred's against one guy.  
- Samara/Morinth and Grunt are tied.  Grunt kind of wins just because of his genetics, tons of redundant organs and systems and regenerative abilities, he's built to take punishment -- he is inexperienced however.  Samara/Morinth while a lot less physically durable, has CENTURIES of experience on everyone else and is clearly extremely powerful.  

I'm so sad that Garrus isn't higher up in the list. I can understand a few of those being reasoned to come after him, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, even Zaeed, but Thane and Legion?
