Ceberusdailynews.com is not owned or written by Bioware but the daily updates in the game certainly are and that's where the website gets their data from.  They're just writing it down so you don't have to sign into Xbox Live everyday which can be a butt if you don't have a wireless adapter..

Yes, the actual news bulletins are from Bioware. The website is not only an archive of Bioware's work, but an expansion of the concept where the fans add in-character commentary.

I like to think some of those fans posting comments are also Bioware employees.

We're getting a LOT of news about the Vallum Blast (as well as a few interesting details about turian physiology and culture). I don't even remember this many news reports about that one Hanar colony disaster. Do you think any upcoming DLC will have something to do with Taetrus? Truthfully I'm not sure what...perhaps catching the ones responsible for the attack, but that definitely feels like something the turian military should be handling, not Shepard.

Still, even if it's far-fetched I hope we get some interesting DLC soon.

We are according to what I read from Bioware going to receive an announcement about DLC this week. They called this DLC bigger than the Equalizer thing.

Most likely Ash and Kaidan DLC or liara DLC. Or the romance pack :wizard:

Cerberus daily news should be tied in with dlc. Like this thing going on with terrorists ramming a ship into a city and killing 150,000 turians. The dlc should have shepard go there to find and hunt down the terrorists, garrus especially would be ticked off and would be really eager to join up with you since it was an attack against his people. And maybe we would get a +1 points from the turian councilor =/

Nah, I doubt all of those. Liara DLC maybe at most.

I should hope so.  I was not very impressed with that one, but I love Kasumi.  I think she's the best human character and the Locust SMG is brilliant so I'm willing to forgive a few duds here and there.

Did they specify how much bigger?

No unfortunately they didn't...which makes me suspect it may be something small again, just technically "bigger." But Bioware also said that they are working on Story DLC though. The announcement could be for the Liara DLC. Personally I expect something smaller like a small mission or an alternative outfit pack.

You know I always thought that a big hurdle for extra character content in DLC would be getting the VAs around to record new dialog. That's a big deal if they only record a few lines a piece....Does Bioware try to use local talent or do they use folks from all over? I know sometimes they use talent from far and away, but is that standard policy? I think this is one of the bigger hurdles to overcome for things like "extra dialog DLC" and so one that people have been requesting. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see that, just wondering how plausible it is.

During an interview with Mark Meer he said that before ME2 was released he was called up a fair amount to record DLC dialog, even sometimes coming in, saying a few lines, and then heading back out.

Yea, but he's Shepard.  It'd be pretty embarrassing if Shepard never had anything to say in new DLC, but for all the squaddies too?  Now if it was a DLC that focused on shoring up specific characters lack of dialog....*cough* Garrus *cough* Zaeed *cough* Kasumi *cough*...then maybe it would work out.  Sort of like the appearance pack sort of filled in some logic holes.  Why doesn't Garrus fix his armor and why does Jack always enter firefights in her underwear?

That is true, just thought what he said, as a voice actor, may have some relevance to the other character voice actors. I don't really expect Bioware to make character extra dialog DLC, sadly. I liked the direction they went with Kasumi though, in terms of inter-squad communication and acknowledgement of your romance.

Jack wears combat boots.

As for the DLC, there's the long rumored Liara DLC for which there is already dialogue recorded on Liara's VA's part. Much like Bringing Down the Sky, you'd have a DLC with only the main players speaking and the squadmates either saying nothing or generic banter. Not ideal, in my opinion.

Also hope they heavily modified whatever DLC they intended for Liara because I don't like the dialogue people managed to find about it.

Well, I meant the pre DLC boobstrap situation.

Anyway, Bioware has implied that they would be willing to do "romance packs" or I should that certain Bioware employees have said it might be a good a idea and they supported it.  That's a long way from setting something in stone, but it's better than nothing.  Short of making up a new character, you'd have to get some VAs back in town for something like that.  By the way, I support this idea approximately 3004.8%

I had a much grander vision for the Shadow Broker.

No extra dialouge sucks man. I mean like come on bioware, you have to admit that you kind of half assed the dialouge (not just garrus) but with squad interaction in general. I hope they do what many other people are urging them to do.

So I imagine that the Shadow Broker was portrayed as less capable or mysterious than you wanted?

Me too. Honestly I think that if they plan on having a ME2 expansion that bridges the gap between the second and third games, then they should save the Shadow Broker subplot for that. I just don't think a simple DLC is going to cut it, especially not with such lackluster dialogue. I don't even think Liara mentioned her friend at all. Thankfully that dialogue was in the "scrapped" folder, so they probably aren't ever going to use it. At least I should hope that BioWare knows better than to leave such spoilerific soundfiles in the game.

I love the Mass Effect characters.  Only ME character that I genuinely think is poor in quality is Zaeed (I am SO not interested in a flame war, just stating my opinion.)  Even if I don't like some of the others, it's because they just aren't my cup of tea, not because they are bad characters.  Oh, wait, Jacob...I try to forget about him.  *Sigh*

Anyway, much as I love the ME2 cast, sometimes I think Bioware bit off more than they can chew.  12 is a LOT of people to juggle.  They did a great job considering, but I think someone else described the ocean as "a mile wide and an inch deep."  A tighter squad might be better in ME3 if it's not possible to ramp up the character interaction.

Actually come to think, ME1 interactions were rather generic.  The elevator conversations were highly redundant.  Many of the same topics got discussed regardless of who was with you.  Characters randomly changed opinions based on whoever else was in your party and many times they all said exactly the same thing regardless of character.  "Who votes we take the vehicle into the creepy underground bunker?" comes to mind.  Would Ash or Garrus say that? Yep.  Kaidan?  Nope, he's not that playful or witty, yet he says that anyway.

ME2 has less dialog but individual lines generally pack more punch and are more in character.  One example that immediately comes to mind.  On Horizon Ashley refers to Shepard as a "god."  Sarcastic and sharp?  That sounds like Ash.  But Kaidan refers to Shepard as a "legend."  Romantic and cheeseball?  That's Kaidan.  I really appreciated little variations like that.  There's a level of nuance there I really appreciate.

The interactions that were missing in ME2 were specifically party banters.  I want the squaddies to talk to each other more.  Otherwise, I was pretty satisfied.  Well, except for the fact that Garrus only has three conversations INCLUDING his romance dialog, but we've already ridden that horse into the ground.
