Question for you Turian experts?, would a turian marriage/courting/whatever have the female (if member of different species) Take the males last name?

So far as I know, we have no real idea on turian courtship rituals.  We speculate they are fairly similar to humans, but that's really all we've got.

I really wish BW would go hardcore with the codex and do literally everything.

Tell me about it.  And Garrus doesn't even pull a "turian encyclopedia" like most other alien squaddies do so we are quite strapped for information in many areas.  There's a kind of assumption that so little is said of turians because they are similar to humans in most capacity (about the same lifespan, about the same mating rituals and so on.)  The codex only seems to point out stuff about aliens that is quite different from humans.

It was funny that there was only two codex entries for humans

In the words of Gianna Parasini: "Smartass, huh?  Okay, I can work with that."

Edit  *sigh* You leave the "t" off smartass and everything just falls apart.

Actually, I would love some kind of ME sourcebook or encyclopedia. I would be all over that.

Who cares about humans anyways? Most just want to take over everything and everyone. Besides we're already human. The only game where I prefer humanity is Starcraft and even so most Terrans are stupid and would rather fight each other than unite and fight the Zerg with the Protoss.

I really hope Turians have more of their differences explained in ME2. I don't want a species that's similar to humanity. The ironic thing is that both species have similar things yet they don't get along.

I agree with you mostly, but I also agree with what Samara had to say of humans: that we are very individualistic.  "If there are three humans in a room, there will be six opinions" is how she put it I think.  Given that, humanity has evolved a wide range of cultures and ideologies.  You can find some parallel in humanity to almost all of the alien species simply because humanity is so diverse.

Mordin also notes (and the Mass Effect novels as well) the genetic diversity of humans compared to other species.  The books go into more detail on this, comparing human variance to the quarians (who are mostly very similar in size and constitution.)  Anyway, most of those alien cultures have homogenized as they adapted to space both biologically and culturally.  It's predicted that humanity will kind of do that eventually as well.  The turians are rather similar to the ancient Romans, but I don't  think that means they are similar to all humans as humanity is very diverse.  And biologically speaking, I am mostly pleased they are similar to us (amino acid stuff aside) because it is one of the few things that makes a romance with one possible at all.  Same with Tali and Thane and Liara too for that matter.

I believe I read that a developer or writer (most likely latter) said that Turians have similar lifespans to humans - not particularly shorter or longer.

Well I think Garrus is late 20s early thirties.

That's very possible. All we know is that pre-ME2 a writer said that Garrus was definitely under 30. So he could be 31 at most. I would personally put him at 27 or 28.

28 feels right, he`s not young like Tali and not old as Thane. I like to think that Garrus is a little older then Shepard but not that much. The oldest squad member is Wrex tho, dam he is old.

I always did imagine Garrus would be only slightly younger than Shepard.

He was stomping around killing mercs before the New World was discovered.  Trippy thought, but it takes a lot of years to build up that much awesome.  Unless you're Garrus, of course.  Then you're just born that way.

Ya, Shepard is 31 or 32. I would say Garrus is 27 to 30.

LMAO, Wrex is at least around 1200 years old.  He is the best merc alive. Garrus is the best sniper around tho :bandit:

Shepard is 29. Technically 31, but 2 years dead does not count.

I miss seeing Wrex all the time in ME2, although I understand he has an important job on Tuchanka. I just loved Wrex to pieces. :D

I was really disappointed to hear he would not make it to ME2, seeing as how he is my favorite character. I was so stoked to see him on Tuchanka, one of my favorite scenes from the game.

Still, it`s better to refer Shepard as 31. It would be wierd if he said "I am 29" would cause alot of questions. Only a few people know Shepard realy did die.

Yea, that gets me more than any ME1 reunion.  For a krogan and then that emphatic handshake, that's an extremely big deal.  It kinda pushes everything you thought you knew about krogan out the door.
