The way Garrus responds to Shepard’s ‘I trust you took her down gently’ makes me think that it amuses him that Shepard would assume she was the weaker party.

Yea I never really liked the "I trust you took her down gently," line. I'd rather it just be "So how did it turn out?"

Yeah. That female turian was in the military, damnit. Would be even more hypocrite to say if your Shep punched that reporter.

I never took that line that way.  I thought it was more Shep acknowledging Garrus' BAMF status, not being sexist.

At least it isn't as bad as the conversation you had with Wrex about the genophage back in ME1. I replayed it yesterday, and DAMN does Shepard sound like an idiot.

What does Shepard say? Haven't played ME1 in a while.

Here is a video.

Yeah, I cringed even before knowing what the genophage was.  And that was the Paragon response.

I remember that. Yea, Shepard didn't know what he/she was talking about with those lines.

Am I cool yet?

Depends on how you got the scars. If you got them while in the process of saving a kitten from a tree, not so much.

Wrex: "It's not the same thing."
      / Isn't it?
O - What are you talking about, of course it is
      \\ Yes it is.

Mass Effect: the game where all of your choices are the same thing.

ahh, I've been so busy with school the last week I haven't been on here at all. Seventy pages? You people are monsters. Anything interesting happen?

Also, I've been watching a lot of Kamen Rider lately, so this seems appropriate...

Gotta love some of the people on this forum. I just saw someone say interspecies romances are akin to bestiality. MAKES PERFECT SENSE, RIGHT.

Okay, last thing I'm gonna say about a GarShep marriage: Farscape. John and Aeryn trying to get married in the Peacekeeper Wars. Hilarity ensues and each time it's interrupted by gunfire/explosions. Eventually Rygel, who they picked to be officiant, throws everything out the window and asks each of them "Do you love ____? (Sappy affirmative) And do you love ____? (Similarly sappy affirmative)There! Done!" My canon Shep and Garrus wouldn't probably have some big party- just have the closest of the squaddies around, running around getting 'hitched' in between taking down enemies. Yar.

"Taking her down gently"- I interpreted that as Shep recognizing Garrus' BAMFishness and assuming he won. But he is nothing if not a gentleman, so he must have been easy on her. Except for a turian to be a gentleman, I bet taking it easy on an opponent is disrespectful. Or something.

UGH. Non-sentient = beastiality. Sentient = xenophilia. It is not difficult.

Try getting into an argument with a furry who believes sex with aliens is bestiality, while sex with anthro is ok. The explanation behind this? Anthropomorphic animals are cpure and can reflect your inner animal. Also you can find a little of yourself in one. While aliens from outer space don't display any earth animal whatever feature.

lol. Aww. I get what you were saying, I just disagreed. And you have a point: we are the Garrus thread. :P
I think most of us come from the POV of having played Garrus as being there from ME1. I thnk that if he is newly recruited in ME2, this changes the dynamic somewhat. I'm trying to get an handle on Shep-free Garrus atm myself. The problem I have in picturing him going it alone is that he'd be leaving a lot to go towards... not very much. I don't think he'd have left Shepard the 1st time, had Shepard not gone and died on him. And that goes for some of the other squaddies as well. I don't think it's as simple as 'they all follow Shepard', as much as 'they are a team'. Shepard is simply the glue that holds them all together (Go Team Shepard!).
If Shepard died again, I think Garrus would be more than capable of carrying on the good fight by himself. I just don't see why he'd do that if Shepard were still alive and in need of his services. They work best together, and why go against that? Subjectivity win! :wizard:

Yes. This is an old argument which I made the mistake of trying to answer once upon a time. Things got heated. :? (I thought Collider was there somewhere backing me up, but I may be confused. lol)
Each to their own, and all that, but WRONG!

Same as janeym27, I understand your point, Pacifien, I just don't agree with it. Just different interpretations of the character. But, hey, everyone's entitled to their own version of Garrus, that's the whole beauty of it. Plenty of Garrusness to go around!

I'm hesitating between 2 reactions:

"I don't even..."

or

"Sometimes you say these things, and I don't know..."
