Well, it's possible that they grow and they have keep them trimmed (probably have to like shave them down), like a deer's antlers. Maybe Saren just never bothered.

Looks like some turians (such as myself) like to grow them out to a more natural state, while others (the seeming majority) trim them.  Possibly social reasons?

Eh..yeah about that whole you being a turian thing....

Look me up if you wish.  Skethis.  It's simply "roleplaying."

Mutant? Turian equivalent of the six-fingered man?

Hm... I always wondered about why he looked so different, but never thought about that being a possibility. Interesting.

I've also heard some speculation about Saren possibly being part of a sort of "sub-species" of turian. ...Or perhaps one member of an apparently otherwise little seen turian "race"? I don't know... My mind is wandering.

There's a video here that has someone playing as Garrus. He doesn't say how he did it though :?

Since I was talking to Mordin a lot due to Garrus "calibrating", I ended up getting the conversation where Mordin thought I was hitting on him. I never got the videos or anything.

I'll just assume that Garrus got the vids himself from Mordin. Maybe he did his own research and so on. So in my case, Garrus and I went into this sexual exploration totally blind. Blind, but willing.

Kinda funny though, because my Shepard had the same reaction I did with the whole wine and music thing. Although I don't drink alcohol, I appreciate the gesture.

Re: Saren - he is highly cybernetically enhanced. I can't take him as a sub-type of turian, based on the fact that there's probably only about a small pot roast's worth of original flesh left there. His hips are all wrong for a turian and he's sporting a geth arm, for cryin' out loud.

Re: Garrus's scars - Garrus does have a lot of brown/pink flesh, as has been pointed out, and once again I have to mention that metallic stuff tends to blister and redden (as part of a fused oxidization process) when subjected to intense heat like, say, explosives to the face. I've mentioned it before, basically his scales and other metallic bits are slightly rusted, but the rust has been sealed in by the heat and the living tissue. Pure speculation on my part is that it could eventually be buffed out. (Turian facials, next on the Living Network.)

Re: Less obvious/more obvious claws, I'm sure it's all about fashion and comfort!

And now, the conclusion (for now at least) of Garrus Effect, with Commander Garrus Shepard!

Ashley is catchin' the Palaven Fever by the looks of things.
"Do you know who I am?! I'm GARRUS B**CH!"
"Can it wait for a while Ashley? I'm the middle of some calibrations."
"Did you ever have a little turian in you? Because you do now."
Commander Garrus prepares to lay down some serious whoop-ass.
FISSION MUCKING ACCOMPLISHED!

And that concludes Garrus Effect for now. Hopefully someone can figure out how to do this with Mass Effect 2 and take some screenies of that.

Priceless captions~

Re: Mordin's vids - I...kind of thought they would all end up being Mordin lecturing and role playing as he rubs a barbie doll against the Turian equivalent of a G.I. Joe.

Question: does anyone have any good reference of turian feet?

I swear, I have a reason for asking about this. >_________>

Turian foot fetish?

Joking.  No, I would say that your best reference would be that concept art that's floating around.  I don't think I've ever seen turian feet without some kind of armor/clothing over them otherwise, although I thought maybe one or two might have been bare-footed at the Presidium in ME1.  You could possibly check and see if that is the case.

I *may* have a bit of a foot fetish in general, yes...

Hehehehe. One of the very few traits of mine I "gave" to my Shepard was a foot fetish. Poor Garrus at this point often wonders if she likes him or his feet. ;]

I've been curious about his hips forever. I won't lie, in terms of looks, Saren's form is far sexier than the average Turian's. I'd have loved for all Turians to have had his hips and legs, but oh well. Overall, Garrus is still my #1 Turian.

I got the same thing. I think it was because I went to talk to him too soon- that you probably have to wait until after the second or third time you talk to Garrus and "lock in" the romance.

As for the discussion about turian anatomy- I figured that those hips are probably 90% of the reason relations would be difficult. Being as in humans, male hips are narrower than those of a female. But all it would take is a little extra...flexibility. :P

And the feet- well, I may not share the foot fetish, but the Gargoyle comparison may be part of the reason I find them rather aesthtically pleasing. You get a twofer when Garrus is threatening Harkin and you get to see his BAMFish side (they talk about his 'interrogating' techniques back in ME1, now we get to see them) and a close-up of a foot on Harkin's neck. Okay, maybe that's a three-fer.

I don't pretend to know much about turian anatomy (minus what my fevered mind imagines) but I've always thought turian hips seem perfect for getting a good grip. :P

And thanks to those that explained how they got the "night on the town with Officer Vakarian" ad. It made my fangirl heart sing to hear that. ^_^ Now back to reading Garrus smut fanfic. YUM!

I personally don't think Garrus ever considered Shepard as more than just a friend until she started blatantly hitting on him--at least not consciously. He has probably been raised his entire life to view interspecies relationships as weird or "wrong", but I still think he had feelings for Shepard buried inside of him somewhere that he never realized. I guess you could say it's a bit similar to someone who finally realizes that they're homosexual (not a completely accurate comparison, but you get the idea). I imagine that Shepard (mine, at least) was quite shocked when she herself realized that she saw Garrus as more than a friend.

So, I believe he's been in denial for awhile (that, and he's probably terrified of starting anything with her just in case things don't work out). It wouldn't make sense for him to suddenly develop a romantic interest in Shepard in a matter of a few conversations otherwise. Because yes, by the end it is quite obvious that he does have romantic feelings for her. He wouldn't be so hurt when she shoots him down at the end otherwise--not to mention that the trigger to end the relationship is "Maybe we make better friends"/"I want to be your friend". Meaning they're already past the "friends" stage.

I agree with that analogy, even if it's not perfect like you say.  And with Shepard maybe almost surprising herself.  I think if you want you could look at it as *both* of them sort of "buried" the feelings or never acknolwedged them for a variety of reasons (diff. species, chain of command, Shep may have had another LI).  In my game I think Shep herself didn't walk into the battery after Garrus's loyalty mission specifically planning to proposition him, but when he told his reach and flexibility story it sort of...spurred her to action I guess.  Got her thinking in that way ;), plus, at that point -- in addition to me agreeing with people who say there was no need for further getting to know you stuff, and in that regard it makes more sense for Shep to cut to the chase straight to sex, basically -- Shep maybe is feeling the weight of the fact that they are all possibily going to be dead soon (again).  After already dying once, she (my Shep that is) isn't as cautious about going after what she wants in life.  Of course, I didn't see it that way the first time I played through, it took some reflection and forum reading to come to that realization ^_^

I did the same for my Shepard!  It started back in Mass Effect 1 and carried very nicely into Mass Effect 2.

Garrus himself shows off his feet at least twice in very provacative ways: when you first meet him and he sits down and when he holds Harkin down with his foot.  So it wouldn't surprise me at all if garrus didn't mind one bit.
