aww now my hopes are crushed again. Well he did mention character dev DLC, so theres a chance we will see some character DLC closer to ME3.I expect post-suicidem ission DLC in 2011.

The things he said sound very promising, so you can still hope :). Especially the post-SM DLC for people who already completed the game... that would be awesome.

Does anyone know how to pry the barnacle that is Kaiden off you (other than Virmire'ing him)?
One conversation, I think I boo boo'd when I was on the Citadel and was nice during the Ash/Kaiden conversation, and now I think the game thinks I've initiated romance with him.
Talking to Liara gives me the "me or him" convo, and I'm afraid if I keep talking to Kaiden, it's going to "cement" things.

GAH.
I JUST WANTED THE XP YOU BRAT! GARRUS IS JUST TOO BUSY CALIBRATING THE DAMN MAKO. /fume

Choose the renegade options during the Normandy Lockdown and other conversations and I believe that ends the romance.By the time he or Liara shows up in Shepard's room though, the romance is cemented - rejecting them doesn't end it.

Yeah, I'm just going to be as nasty to all 3 LIs as required. My Shep's a Paragade, anyway.

I made it up. :P

It's a project that scalpels and I started up, reconstructing the quarian language from what we know. We've actually made a lot of progress, though not all of it is publicly available to see yet.

And, no, before you ask, I have no immediate plans to do a turian language. Given the morphological differences between turians and humans, their language is likely unpronounceable with human mouths (and vice versa).

I have zero idea of how one would construct a language just from the scraps we get from ME2 and Ascension.

OK - I still haven't found the person who tells me they are glad I took Garrus with me in ME1. I've spoken to Pallin lots, but no. What needs to happen to trigger that convo? Can anyone remember?

Sigh. Maybe I should start a new DA game instead. I think I'm overdosing on Mass Effect, and I have yet to get beyond the DA tutorial (I spent so long trying to pick my character class, I then spent the entire mission second guessing myself. Sigh)

Also, page 800 (and one) happy hour, anyone? XD

You deserve massive credit, IMO.  Hey maybe the ME3 team will notice and it'll come to something--there was a fan-mission level-designer who made such good Thief 2 levels, Ion Storm hired him to design levels for Thief 3!  It can happen... ^_^

It's not quite as hard as you might think. It's how Klingon was constructed for Star Trek and Karen Traviss was doing a similar thing for awhile with Mando'a for the scraps of Mandalorian scattered throughout the Star Wars books and movies. What words we have gives us a clue to the structure and sound of the language. Of course, it's all guesswork, but we can still get a basic approximation.

Essentially, it's the same thing that BioWare would do if they decided to reconstruct the language. Of course, it's somewhat easier if you come up with the language to begin with (as Tolkien did in Middle-earth) but it's not necessary. As long as the language remains phonologically and gramatically consistent, it doesn't matter how you came up with it.

But enough on that. I already said I wasn't going to do a turian language so the discussion is more than a little off-topic.

EDIT:

@kglaser: Thanks.

Eventually he should tell you something about how he think he's been getting signals/signs from you and he'll ask you if you're interested. Say no and that should end it.

Eh, you don't need to worry so much about getting OT here...it never happens for long, anyway. This is interesting stuff. :)

And it can be made on topic by giving us hope that maybe something like that COULD be done for the turian language, were one of us so inclined. Maybe. Eh, fun to think about. :D

Do we even find out any turian words? Other than that ONE I can't remember from the CNN thingie last week. Meaning like ox cow or something silly. GAH.

Other than that one word, there's no other words I can even think of that we've been given that are turian. I wonder if it's possible because it'd be hard for any of the other races to pronounce it? I still think the translators do double time with turian words. Their mouth structures are one of the most foreign designed than any other (baring like Elcor.)

And crap Coll, I was hoping I was going to have the Normandy Lockdown to myself. Baaaaaaaaaaah. Guess I'll have to record it another day. /sigh

Use all renegade options during lockdown as Collider said. IRC it's enough (no kiss no romance), so you can speak with him with paragon options in other conversations. ME1 romances are traps >_<

DA:O is long. And it has no Garrus. It's a fun game though. I finished it two days ago. ** DA:O SPOILERS** I was NOT amused by the ending though, so I'll start over :P **END SPOILERS**

Not me. Didn't I say I was going to bed an hour ago? Yes I did. Yet, I'm still here.

Well, my overthinking character choice has left me having not played through it even once. lol

Even now, I'm thinking: so what do I want to be? (wishes human warriors had more backstory choices)

Human Noble is best if you want the most end game choices. But I like Dwarf Noble the most as an origin.

Well, you could do a turian language if you really wanted to (though unlike quarians I imagine they have more than one active). Thing is, you'd have to play around with it in ways you don't have to with Khelish, based on what we know of quarian facial morphology (pretty close to human/drell/asari). For example, turians don't have lips which means sounds like b, p, or m (among others) are likely unpronounceable for turians (though parrots do a pretty good imitation without). Similarly, the turians may use their mandibles to make sounds that a human couldn't replicate.

But, if you were dedicated enough and  you were fine with the fact you yourself wouldn't be able to speak it properly, it could be done.

Actually, we've also decided on the Tali thread that there are probably some subtleties of quarian speech that humans can't do either - there's a consensus over there that quarians have two voiceboxes (it's complicated).

Interesting...maybe, being avian-like in some ways (for example, it's been confirmed that turians have a structure like a gizzard), they might be able to mimic with their voiceboxes or however parrots do it?  That hadn't even occurred to me as a possibility.

Yes, it would explain why they have layered voices kind of like the flanging effect on turian voices, right?

Is Jacob's romance really that bad? Is it as bad as Kaidan's? (Although I do like Kaidan as a character, just that he seems a bit wimpy in his romance)

I can't wait for the DLC. I want moar ME2! And it's nice to hear they're really heading for more story driven DLC.

Wow, it does look like it's going to be cool. Though I haven't downloaded any of the DLCs yet (planning to get them altogether after term ends) :bandit:

Haha, it is cheesy. Poor Jacob can't give a good pick-up line to FemShep. And why did he strip off half-way? It looks like he's taking his shirt off for a modelling shoot rather than getting some lovin'. :P

Now I really need to try Garrus' romance now. Aw crap... I have uni in a few hours D:
