The Garrus cobalt blue is one that I am definitely recognizing more readily IRL. I always liked the color, anyway...just more attuned to it now.

Try sticking to the renegade responses. I heard when the Normandy is locked down and your love interest comes up to talk to you, if you use renegade responses and are negative to them the romance stops.

Funny story:  today at church, the sermon was about video game/internet message board addiction.  They listed the 9 signs of addiction, and of course I met every one.
The minister might as well have just pointed his finger at me and said, "You--you there, in the 12th row...you're going to Hell." LOL

I wonder if the reason Shepard has to be the pursuer in ME2 was in any way a response to how many people fell into the trap of romance in ME1.

I found it easy to turn Liara down, because while she's embarrassed, there's always the idea that Shepard just isn't into the aliens. Until Liara saw Shepard with Garrus and thought "that ****, I knew I should have left her to the Collectors."

I only managed one game where Shepard spent lockdown without one of the love interests trying to step in. That was the game where I accidentally insulted Ashley's grandfather and did Liara's mission last.

Speaking of Garrus always having Shep's back... I wrote a fanfic. (shamless plug a-go-go). It has Garrus. And I promise moar Garrus to come. (maybe even 'sexy' Garrus. )

Also, when we get to hell, we can spend eternity regaling each other with our Garrus stories. The cunning thing is, I'm lead to believe the devil hasn't accounted for geekdom yet, so he'll not notice that WE LOVE IT!

It really started to get on my nerves the number of times Garrus pointed out when things were just like old times. Walking the Derelict Reaper, fighting the Colossus, killing a bunch of mercs, walking into hell... Garrus, can we just agree the entire mission is just like old times and start talking about the new times?

Might be that. I've always seen it as a reflection of the chracters available for romance in ME2. For example, there is no way I see Garrus mkaing the first move (although, there is a 'blowing off steam' loop you can get him into which makes it seem more like he is deliberatly propositioning Shep, for those who feel 'dirty' making the first move).

I think mostly with the FemShep romances, the character think speaks to me. I can't see Garrus, Thane or Jacob making the first move given the circumstances. (Miranda or Tali, I can see approaching first, but Miri is a Cerberus professional fist, and Tali has never exactly been shy about her feelings for Shep, maybe he needs to say yay or nay).

I don't think I agree with that. She's been shy about her feelings about male Shepard the whole time. She does say that she's attracted to him when he asks, but by then she already knows that he knows, so there's little use in denying it. I

I think this is a subjectivity thing. In ME1, I was surprised she wasn't an LI based on interaction, and in ME2 I was genuinly surprised I couldn't romance her with my FemShep (I did spoiler aversaion as far as possible). To me, she has always been attracted to Shep, and in ME2 especially she has been all about the Shep-love from the get-go. I definetly read her as crushing on Shep big time from after the geth data quest in ME1.

I think the main reason why some turians hate humans were already mentioned - the First Contact War and humans gaining power too fast. My Shepards all like people who are like themselves... well, Evil Shepard wouldn't like it if someone acted all superior and put him down like he does to others, but he just thinks he's better than everyone else. Although, I think Garrus' response to Evil Shepard calling him ugly would result in equal amounts of pride (Garrus "learned from the best," after all) and "Oh no you didn't." xD But that's just my Shepards. If they all had clones, it would be their best friend ever until they started fighting over the same romantic interest.

My MaleShep is going to recruit Liara soon, and he has to try not to fall into the trap. He likes Tali! One of my other MaleSheps will go for Liara though. I'm not that familiar with Liara's dialogue, is the "I don't like aliens" thing really an option? For my FemSheps, an "I'm not attracted to aliens who look just like women" option would be more fitting...
