Gah, I'm at Virmire... here's my 6th attempt at it, I HOPE I can get freakin' Kirrahe to survive this time. Every other time I've missed something and I can't figure out WHAT.../flail

1. Take out geth communications.
2. Destroy the satellite.
3. Destroy all the geth flyers that are refueling.
4. Disable the alarms to the base.

Then, no matter if you go to the AA Tower or the nuke, Kirrahe should still show up in your cargo hold after you've finished Virmire. He'll get off at the next major stop, though.

I posted a vid that I don't think anyone but an ME player, and also maybe a Garrius fan would appreciate.  I wish they'd let us play with just two characters if we wanted.  Garrius and I wiped the floor of the galaxy together.  And then partook of a little smoky smoky with some turian chicks.

I like to imagine all of my Shepards on the Normandy at the same time. xD This is why I don't like the idea of squadmates pairing off or starting new relationships if Shepard doesn't romance them... it would feel like they're cheating on one of the other Shepards.

Also, about keeping the ME1 romantic interests off our poor, unsuspecting Shepards - I actually guessed the one with Ashley, but it was my MainShep who used that dialogue choice, not the MaleShep in my current playthrough. He used a longer, slightly more polite way of telling her she was wrong (I wouldn't remember which options without seeing them again, there were probably around three or four in the whole conversation). As for Liara, I found that the option to tell her off about looking up Shepard's history worked well for a while, as long as you don't choose the option to ask more about her. I knew that dialogue sounded flirty, so I just reloaded. I always save right before talking to any of these people so my Shepards can go back if the conversation takes an unexpected turn. >_>; I haven't had any trouble with Kaidan or Ashley on my playthroughs (Kaidan seems to assume my FemShep is interested for some reason, but at least there's no trouble turning him down politely), just Liara.

Anyway, my Shepards don't start a romance with one of the characters just because there are no better options... My MainShep was single in ME1, and she's with Garrus in ME2.

Of course, what seems like a good option at the time can get upstaged later. That happened to my main with Ashley and Tali.

Yeah, I keep a lot of saves because of this. In ME2, I had so many saves that I actually had to delete quite a few of them before the game ended. I didn't want my MainShep to accidentally get stuck in a romance with Jacob while I was waiting for Garrus' loyalty mission to become available.

My point was, in case it wasn't clear, that Tali didn't occur as an LI to me in ME1. That only happened in ME2, but when it did happen, she nabbed me (after some initial doubts) decisively. In ME1, I was perfectly content with Ashley as a LI.

Not sure if anybody had a similar experience with Kaidan and Garrus.

Most likely. I did hear that many people went with Kaidan first because that's basically all they had (or they actually did like him) but then went with Garrus or Thane in ME2. Partly because Kaidan yells at them etc on Horizon.

That's what happened with Meghan, Horizon broke her heart.  Avery will just not be able to get over Kaidan and won't want to drag Garrus into her misery.

Important thing is, while Ashley's rejection definitely played into Michael Shepard's decision to go for Tali, it wasn't the sole reason or even the most important one, since there's hints of reconciliation in the email. I didn't really make up my mind until after I did Tali's loyalty mission. At that point, I decided to go through with it.

I guffaw mightily every time I get to the point where Kaidan tells my Shepard "I got some signals." You're projecting, dude. Spend your next shore leave with the consort, you need it bad.

I did do a romance playthrough with Garrus, but I fear in my mind he has been ****blocked with my "always the friend, never the lover" mentality. He and the Turian at the Eternity Bar can commiserate over their oblivious female intended loves.

My Shepard just wants some love. I had no problem with romancing Liara in ME1. I also had noooo problem with switching to Garrus in ME2.

ME2 strongly encourage you to dump the ME1 LIs that suddenly went crazy or jerk to go for aliens or Cerberus Barbie and Ken.
I realy wouldn't mind staying with Kaidan, Liara or Ashley but Garrus and Tali was just better.

I am uncertain if these forums like HTML...  No matter!
Apparently the BioBoards dislike DA embed codes... Links, then!

Please enjoy my Garrus related fancomics~ Courtesy of DA links.

ME2 did extremely well at replicating one of my tougher relationships in real life. I felt unfairly dumped by Kaidan after Horizon and rather angry about it. Then I got his letter, could actually hear his voice while reading it, then suddenly couldn't bring myself to feel angry. And somewhat conflicted as to whether the relationship should be over. One playthrough was faithful to Kaidan, one went for Thane, one went for Garrus. There's a fourth one that plays as faithful to Kaidan, 'cause the game kinda makes the assumption if you didn't pick any of the ME2 love interests, you still have feelings for the ME1 love interest. But I hope to actually play it as breaking up with the ME1 love interest, picking up no new love interest in ME2, and being quite single going into ME3. Wonder if they developers take that into consideration.
