I lol'd. ^.^
And I'm going to just bite the bullet and go back the ten hours to get my Free SHep PT... before I choke something.
Though I tell ya.  Going from ME1 right into ME2 was like tripping over my fingers.  "BUT I'M PRESSING SHIFT WHY AM I NOT RUN- oh... DAMN IT!" /facepalm

Shepard needs to take lessons from the turian councillor. xD Maybe that'll keep the asari off him/her.

...Or Shepard could just use one of Tali's lines. "I have a shotgun."

Steph TOTALLY should be able to use this line.

BECAUSE SHE DOES.

The MaleShep in my current playthrough is a Vanguard too. :D His shotgun has explosive rounds and sets things on fire (the flaming, levitating geth are always hilarious). The unwelcome romantic interests and flirts should fear him.

And the Shepards who don't use a shotgun have some great ME2 alternatives, like "I have a grenade launcher."

OK. So playing DA:O, romancing Alistair (for the 1st time, so no spoilarz, please!) and while he's a lovely, all I can think about is how I'm cheating on Garrus. lol

But this game is really making me appreciate how little ME2 had to offer in the way of party banter. I don't want to seem ungrateful (and yet I continue to type...), but if they can have that level of inter-squad interaction sustained there, why was it so sparse in ME2? Espceically since we were in some cases dealing with established characters.

OK: if you could have a party of 4 in ME2, with awesome banter going on, who do you take? (I mean, Garrus, obv. But who else?)

I'm thinking Garrus, Tali and Grunt. I imagine that would be gold.

Don't make me find "A Hundred Years Difference" for you.

Please, not that excellent and excruciating story.  I still haven't recovered. :crying:

Great film about an old guy that somehow had to do with his car.

Like Angry p1xel, I didn't cry either. I feel bad now. My lack of ability to cry might make me cry... (in fact, I think it inspired me to write crap skits about turian sex allergy. WTF is wrong with my emotions, man? :o)

It was superbly written, though.

Go read some Xsause crack-fic. That'll put yer in yer happy place again. :D

Edit: spelling fail. And that's allergy, not allegory. Turian sex allegory... that could be a fin association game.

I enjoyed Gran Torino a lot. The movie itself didn't really focus or center on the car, ironically.

I'd like to be able to take three squadmates along like in DA. For my MainShep at least, I would always bring Garrus and then alternate Grunt, Thane, and Tali for the other two slots.

Dragon Age is one of my favorite games, but I still much prefer Mass Effect. :) I just like the characters better. It would be nice if they could have DA-style banter, and their reactions to certain plot points (I won't spoil any of them) just seem a lot more personalized in DA, unlike the way ME squadmates change their opinion about the Council depending on who you take, and how most (or all) of them disapprove of Shepard saving the base when they seemed fine with it a few minutes ago.

Throat singing for turians also sounds interesting.

I saw a demonstration of that throat singing on TV yesterday.  (Andrew Zimmern in Mongolia).  It was fascinating.  I was hearing the explanation of how it worked, and the more I watched, the more I was like, how the !@#$ does that work?? LOL

I agree Kim. I like the characters better in Mass Effect but I would like the banter of DA to be in ME3. That would be amazing.

The lack of party banter in ME2 makes me think everyone is talking behind your back, all gathering in a secret place away from you to start gossiping. And once you show up, everyone is at their posts pretending to be busy and completely ignoring you.

Shepard: I saved the Citadel!

Bartender: Uhu!

Shepard: I am a damn hero!

Bartender: Uhu!

Shepard: I mean…I am the first human Spectre…I am an icon of hope for humanity.

Bartender: Uhu!

Shepard: And now I am going to save the galaxy again with a few men.

Bartender: Uhu!

Shepard: And this is how they treat me?

Bartender: How dare they?

Shepard: Exactly…They should…they should worship me. They brought me back to life…to save them again. I can’t stay dead…

Bartender: You can’t stand on your feet.

Shepard: Each time I want to go…and chat with someone…they are all busy doing something…or just ignoring me…I saved their asses and helped them…when they had…stuff…like problems and such…I am so lonely…

Bartender: You have the crew.

Shepard: I think they talk behind my…back…they all ignore me and gossip…

Crewman1: Woohoo! Finally Shepard isn’t here.

Thane: His presence disturbs me.

Kenneth: That arse reprehended us for wanting to play poker with him.

Gaby: Good riddance.

Miranda: “I am in charge here!”, we gave him everything and he treats us worst than I treat you.

Garrus: Standing there all day “calibrating” tires me.

Tali: And I have to “clean” all day.

Kelly: That lazy **** can’t even feed his own fish. He invited me to dinner just to have someone look after them.

Jack: F**k him! Let’s have our fun before he comes back.

Crewman 2: Let’s party!

Joker: Shepard is on his way here.

Everyone: Awww…

Jacob: Everybody, look busy!

Shepard: I see everyone is at his post…good.

Kelly: Commander, you have unread messages at your private terminal.

Shepard: Did you feed my fish?

Kelly: Jerk.

Shepard: What did you say?

Kelly: I said yes.

Shepard: Ok…because I run this ship military.

@ Kglaser (and anybody else who wants to keep their Shep single in ME1 AND not miss out on squadmate convos):

Scroll down to my post on this page: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/1296298/807

The post explains how to keep on friendly terms with all the LIs in ME1 without triggering their romance and without missing out on Codex entries.

That's the one I was thinking of (but missed for some reason)--thanks! :D
And thank you to all who answered about my post. :)

Quick DA question for you guys (this is my first proper attempt at playing). I seem to have exhausted all my Alistair conversation options and we're only past the 1st town after the battle. Will I get more, or did I reach too far too soon? (is concerned after having lready received more conversation with him than I got with Garrus in the whole of ME2).

See, now I think I'd need to have a team of Garrus, with Thane/Grunt/Tali/Mordin alternating for position in the other 2 slots (wish we could have Urz as well). Hmm.... do you think we could have a team of 4 minus Shep? All banter, all the time!

Edit: I know it's a tad (very) OT. But I'm scared the DA forums will spoilarz it for me. Even the spoiler free ME forum frequently contains many spoilers.

You should be fine on the Alis conversations, you'll get some more with higher friendship/love ratings. Did you get a short personal mission from him already?

And I'd probably take Thane and Garrus, and the last person may be random (Or Mordin, man I love him so!). That, or see if there would be any conversation between Jacob and Thane, while Thane and Garrus talk about snipahs.

It would be the best of both worlds, and if every squadmate could return too, even better. :) I have high hopes for ME3.

@janeym27: You'll get more dialogue as you go along. The DA characters have a lot to say.

There are no calibrations to do in the middle of nowhere wherever you set up camp. You'll get more dialogs with high approval.

Thanks. The only sort of personal thing I think might come from him is he mentioned a locket his mother gave him which he lost (the rule of Checkov's gun mandates I find it for him at some point, right?) We'd be on better terms, but I had to threaten a priest to get Sten, and apparently he's not cool with that. lol. But it's good to know he won't be silent for long. I enjoy his silly stories. :D

I'd like to think that, given more DA:O style party banter, Thane and Garrus would start to get politely competitive about their skillz. Espcially if both vying for Shep's affections.... XD

Edit: Chekhov, not Checkov. I fail at life and need to go to bed. :pinched:
