I don't think the moderators have any intention of closing characters threads arbitrarily anymore. Only if some massive off-topic explosion were to happen, requiring scorched earth tactics to rectify.
There is seriously no reason why this thread should close down when other threads have +30,000 posts in it.

*gasp* Engineer is awesome! Don't you let those mad shooter class players let you think otherwise!Nilfalasiel wrote...
Concerning what class to take on Insanity in ME2, I've heard lots of people praising the Sentinel, because of their Tech Armour skill (basically extra shields which explode and stun nearby enemies when they run out). I did my Insanity run with a Soldier, because I was afraid the Infiltrator would be a little too squishy, but I still wanted to be able to snipe things. It works, but Adrenaline Rush doesn't beat Tactical Cloak. I don't know about the three other classes, but Adept and Vanguard sound pretty difficult on Insanity (one would need help to strip defenses, the other is just plain suicidal). Engineer...they look like they have pretty good skills (drone, Overload and Incinerate), but I've not really heard anything good about them in ME2.
Any class is quite doable on Insanity so long as that class matches with your playing style. Someone who found a Soldier a breeze on Insanity will probably find playing an Adept or Engineer a horrible adjustment, possibly dismissing them as a viable class altogether.
Adept and Engineers are all about crowd control, and they both arguably have the two best crowd control powers of all the classes. I think there's a few different ways to play the Engineer class besides the combat drone-heavy playing style I lean towards, but I don't know if I've seen Adept builds that didn't rely heavily on the proper use of singularity to get them through Insanity.
On the character build forum, you'll probably find a disproportionate number of fans of the Vanguard class who have Insanity playthroughs down to an artform. You'd certainly think Vanguard owned the universe, but I think it's fairly easy to get a bit cocky with charge.
There's a constant debate on the character build forum about whether adrenaline rush does beat tactical cloak, with the numbers actually favoring adrenaline rush, I think. I don't care, I love my Infiltrator. I love my Widow. Garrus gets grumpy at how elite my sniper rifle is, I bet. Maybe that's why I can't fall madly in love with Garrus, he just can't handle my Widow like a real man could.... Wait, that implies I can fall madly in love with Legion...

I know you're in bed by now (YEAH...RIGHT. And you have a bridge to sell, I expect.)
But I think you should buy an alarm clock that just plays those first 3 notes. Then you would have no need for snooze.
I think I would need something more threatening. Maybe like when I hit snooze Samara threateningly saying "You will regret your choice." LMAO
Hey, I really went to bed. It's a miracle
I don't think those 3 notes would make a good alarm clock. I can't fool myself, even when I'm sleepy. I woke up because I knew I would see Garrus, that won't work everyday
Maybe Miranda: Wake up, commander. Shepard, do you hear me? Get out of that bed now, this facility is under attack.
Jump out of bed and start looking for a pistol

I'm having enough trouble with my Vanguard on hardcore. I think Insanity might drive me, well... insane.

I agree, Engineer is awesome. I'm playing as an engineer on insanity, it works like a charm. Overload for shields, incinerate for armor, combat drone for distraction, Miranda's warp for barriers... it's been easy until now with an engineer.

My ME1 playthroughs were solely with the 3 basic classes (Soldier, Engineer, Adept), because I was gunning for the achievements, and then reused my Soldier to get to 60. The ME1 Engineer didn't really wow me, but the Adept on Insanity was nothing short of glorious. But let's face it, ME1 Adepts were monstrously broken. When I heard that powers had shared cooldowns in ME2 and that Insanity had been ramped up a notch, that immediately put a damper on my wanting to take the Adept for another spin. I'd never tried Infiltrator before, so I did, and I fell in love with the sniper rifle. That being said, I'm sure there are good points to every class: maybe I shouldn't have chickened out! Vanguard definitely sounds like too much "heavy riiiisk, but the--*gets shot*" for me to handle though.

Eh, I just love the idea of vanishing into thin air while the enemies go "huh? wtf? where did she go?" and then BOOM!Headshot! (references, references)
Maybe that's why I can't fall madly in love with Garrus, he just can't handle my Widow like a real man could....
*snerk* Now that metaphor definitely went somewhere horrible

Ray Joel Oh modded Garrus as "Shepard". And then something went wrong. Zombie Garrus was born.

Yeah, the person who drew kid Garrus has got some pretty amazing stuff on there. Ironically, I think kid Garrus is probably the least successful one of the lot (he looks too much like adult Garrus! it's almost the exact same face). Baby Kolyat, on the other hand, is freakishly cute, and I don't even like babies normally >.>;
And Cerrydd, those motivationals are great! The Cover/Optimist ones flavour of truth. And rhe zombie!Garrus ones are terrifying.
Oh, and the Heart attack one reminded me of something. I know it's been discussed here before, but I don't quite remember what was said: is there anything that determines whom you catch after the final boss and who catches you on the Normandy after that? So far, my MainShep, with a final party of Tali and Thane (random, I know), caught Tali and was then caught by her as well. Haven't finished my MaleShep yet.
Do you automatically get caught by whoever you caught, or can it change? Do you always catch the squishiest of your squaddies, or is it determined by their "place" in the party (left squaddie or right squaddie)? I'm just trying to figure out what it would take to catch/being caught by Garrus. I'd prefer the latter, but I seem to remember people saying that it was very hard, if not impossible, to achieve.

Was annoying on my playthrough where I watched Shepard catch Grunt. I don't care how cybernetically modified Shepard is, that krogan has got to be insanely heavy.

Let's see, I had caught Garrus and Garrus caught me with Thane as my party member the first time. I think with Samara and Thane, I caught Thane, but I can't remember any others unfortunately. I can't remember who I caught with Zaeed and Thane, but I think Zaeed hauled me up.
@Nilfa: As for Jacobs LM.. I did the same thing! Jacob usually ended up dying.. or I get stuck in a stupid TREE. I always get stuck on/in the environment there. And in Tali's LM? Those stairs man, BRUTAL. They like getting distracted by the single geth to the left, and ignoring the ones coming up the stairs (As I spam her drone to give me breathing room)
