I know this is a big change of topic, but I was just playing ME1 and I want to make sure my poor MaleShep didn't just romance Ashley by mistake. She told him the story about her grandfather, and when he said "Your part of the team. I don't care what your grandfather did.", she gave the "You're the first CO to say that. Thanks, skipper." response. She still called Shepard "Sir" when he walks away though... so is he safe?

Yes, you're safe.

I tried to be pretty careful in his conversation with Liara too. He chose quite a few of the lines that say he doesn't completely trust her yet because of Benezia ("We'll see" and "Maybe she's just evil" are the two I remember). At the part where she sounds like she wants to study him, he took the middle "that was a joke" option.

As long as you tell Liara "I'm not interested in you in that way" during the second convo with her (should happen after the one you just had), you're safe. She will say that she's interested in you, but just tell her you're not, and she'll get the point.

I also Paragoned Garrus, I think a majority of people seem to.

That reminds me of a conversation many pages back about whether it was a real "headbump", if Shepard and Garrus' heads were touching or not. I think "put their heads together" is a good confirmation on that. :)

Also, Casey Hudson looks at Mass Effect fanart? That's awesome.

Edit:
@Nilfalasiel: Thanks for the advice. It looks like my MaleShep will escape ME1 unromanced! :D

Casey Hudson listens to the fans, I suspect he actually browses the forums to see fan feedback and to look at fan ideas.

He listens to his fans, a very wise marketing move.

I hope it gives the developers good ideas for ME3 Posted Image And you're very welcome.

He's probably noticed all the drinking that Garrus fans do. I can't decided if that's good or not.

Garrus will buy Shepard a vineyard as a gift in ME3.

Nothing wrong with drinking IMO (as long as you don't drink and drive, that's a big no-no)

KIM:

Is Liara calling you Shepard or Commander at the close of the conversation?

Because if you joked with her, I think the romance is on.

I made that mistake and it cost me 10 hours of redo. T.T

Drinking and flying I actually had a friend who tried that once, and I made the stupid mistake of being on the plane with him, I have no idea how we landed that thing safely...

She will call you "Shepard" at the end of THAT particular convo. However, the very next convo you have is the one where you can tell her "I'm not interested in you in that way". She WILL lay off if you tell her that and revert to calling you "Commander".

Drinking and operating any sort of vehicle = BAD IDEA.

Unless it's drinking and operating some sort of virtual vehicle. Then it's fine.

Scary and stupid, but we all gotta have a stupid moment in our lives to make you wake up at some point.

Edit: I've never operated a vehicle while drinking, seen the results of what can happen.

It's good that they listen to the fans. :) That's one of the reasons I have such high hopes for ME3.

Actually, my MainShep was going to give up drinking (and she hardly drank at all) after being poisoned by that batarian bartender... but Garrus went through all that trouble to buy the best wine he could afford.

Liara did call MaleShep "Shepard" at the end of that conversation, but it's fine if it's just that one? I'm going to do a side mission so I can get the second conversation, just to be sure. If not, then I have a save right after Therum before Shepard talked to anyone, so I'll only have to go back one side mission and a few crew conversations.

Lol. Well, I've successfully turned her romance off 3 times that way, so there might've been something else you did? Or maybe something else I did...

Well, here's another indication: if her third casual convo (ie. not about meeting Benezia on Noveria) is about how much weight you carry on your shoulders, you're safe.

Hey guys i'm back, to the people who weren't on a couple hours ago i found a garrus sig made by someone on deviantart named rouge spectre or something like that. And he/she made it specifically to us. here is the picture.

Sand King made it into a banner

and if i knew how to make banners i would make more with this picture too. So yeah, kick ass.

On another note i came back with a book which can expand our Garrus Facts list. This is going to be fun.

It's not that I think Garrus would follow EXACTLY in Kuril's footsteps. But more like, Kuril is an example of someone who started off with the right reasons/goal but either time, money or power has soured them.
I don't think Garrus would have the inclination to start his own Purgatory 2.0. Just that considering Turian mindset and that there's others out there who also don't have the patience for bureaucrats.

I think this is very true.

The only time in-game that I wanted to give Garrus a good slap was when we were on Purgatory and he was in effect saying he thought the place was a great idea.  And all I could think was, Kuril was extorting planetary governments for money and selling prisoners like slaves in a situation where he's not accountable to anyone.  And it's not that far a slope from what Garrus was doing on Omega plus "crap we need money" to make a little extortion to finance the worthy cause seem not so bad.

Again, not that Garrus is going to become a carbon copy of either Saren OR Kuril but if Garrus were to "fall to the dark side" as it were I think that's how it would happen.

I think when Garrus said that that wasn't so bad. Shepard didn't know the whole picture about Purgatory either - at the surface it seemed just to be a prisoner ship that held people who deserved to be taken away from society anyway - like that serial killer you can talk to.

If Garrus "falls to the dark side," I would much prefer something like the Punisher.

Thanks...and now lets expand on the Garrus facts shall we?

-Garrus vakarian won a staring contest with medusa.

-When Garrus Vakarian cuts in line, the line bleeds.

-The Black Eyed Peas were simply known as The Peas until they crossed Garrus Vakarian

-Freddy Krueger has nightmares about Garrus Vakarian

- Ozzy Ozbourne once bit the head off a bat. Not to be outdone Garrus Vakarian bit the head off of batman.

-When Garrus Vakarian gives you the finger, hes telling you how many seconds you have left to live.

- Garrus Vakarian refers himself in the fourth person.

...Does Liara only have new conversations after main missions? D: Because I just did a side mission, and her second conversation didn't appear - there's just the usual Investigate options. I'm guessing "asari culture" won't lead to it. Noveria is the only main mission I have left before Virmire. Do I get the Saren conversation after Virmire or Ilos? I hope it didn't get messed up because this Shepard did Feros first.

Right now, poor MaleShep is frozen staring at Liara, and he's thinking, "What do I do? What do I do?!" xD

I like how you refer to not being in a relationship with her as "safe." I just thought that was pretty funny .
