Hold on. It's almost weekend... right'? ;)

Probably can't do it at home, either, unless my husband goes to play Warhammer tomorrow night.

I played them for my husband because I couldn't keep the giggles to myself. He said, "That is SO not the sound of someone being wounded!"

LMAO, In Jade Empire, the Water Dragon is supposed to be in agony, but she always sounds like she's really..... not.

Garrus' ME1 'ahems' (make sure you're home alone or use headphones :P)

6 and 7 made me go . That did NOT sound like someone getting shot, I can tell you that.

By the way, this is totally random, I know, but does anyone have any oneshot crackfic requests for me? I've got a long weekend, so I'll have plenty of time to write. The fics can be as cracky as you want, and can also contain whatever crack pairing you want (or no pairing at all, whatever suits your taste).  Just PM me with your ideas, and I'll see what I can do.

I like your fanfics. My MainShep finally got her Shepard x Saren dream-come-true. xD Which reminds me, I still have a few chapters left to read.

VLC Media Player can play .ogg files. It's not a bad media player, either. :)

Let's just say that the files help us all to know Garrus a lot better.

Cerr- OMFG.

I love you.

Like seriously. My winamp has just gone from Pretty Awesome to FREAKIN' AMAZING.

It'll break the world when ME3 comes out.

XD

Probably can't stick around for long, but I have a question I'm trying to tackle.

This fic idea I have, has me in a bit of a stump.

How do you think Garrus would think about death and dying? I know he'd have some sort of opinion on it, since we pretty much found him in his own suicide mission.

But with the way Turian spirituality is described... how do you think he'd react to a conversation with a Shepard who's afraid of death? (Yea, I'm trying to tackle this ficlit down since it involves copious amounts of how uncomfortable my Shep feels around Thane.)

To clarify - this Shepard isn't so much of afraid of dying because soldiers die, she knows that. But she was dead... and doesn't remember a damn thing about it. I wrote a ficlit about it a while back, probably something I'll revisit... but I'm just curious how Garrus would approach a conversation like that. I'm just unsure. It may be he might not be able to give any worthwhile advice or thoughts on it. It's still probably an area that's pretty subjective for a lot of folks. But I'm curious what y'all think.

So, thoughts?

Hey, good morning to you, garrus fans. What did I miss?

Cerrydd wrote...
@ Alexine: First Garrus as Zeus and now as an Egyption god? What can I say... we love our men divine :P

Haha yeah. Wouldn't mind it though. Garrus does have the characteristics that would describe him to be an Egyptian god in art. But, don't want to go into too much detail, unless I am sleep-deprived and need a non-caffeine hit. (Can't I just write an essay on Garrus instead?)

Let's make a temple to bring offerings to the almight Lord Garrus! :wizard:

You're a genius! My VLC player is stuffing up in sound, so I have to use Windows Media Player. I'll put it on my mp3 later, so I can listen to Garrus when I go to the Library later on today. B)

I don't know if Garrus had any notion about death and dying, since he'd only come on the suicide mission because he strongly supports Shepard's goal of stopping the Reapers. And is there turian spirituality? Since I got the notion that Turians don't have any kind of formal belief, unlike the Salarian's Wheel of Life, Asari philosophies, The Hanar Enkindlers and the drell old gods.

From the Wiki (and by extenstion, I think Codex)

The Wiki Says...

Religion
Turians believe that groups and areas have 'spirits' that transcend
the individual. For example, a military unit would be considered to have
a literal spirit that embodies the honor and courage it has displayed. A
city's spirit reflects the accomplishments and industry of its
residents. An ancient tree's spirit reflects the beauty and tranquility
of the area it grows within.
These spirits are neither good nor evil, nor are they appealed to
for intercession. Turians do not believe spirits can affect the world,
but spirits can inspire the living. Prayers and rituals allow an
individual to converse with a spirit for guidance or inspiration. For
example, a turian who finds his loyalty tested may appeal to the spirit
of his unit, hoping to reconnect with the pride and honor of the group. A
turian who wishes to create a work of art may attempt to connect with
the spirit of a beautiful location.
Turians enjoy absolute freedom of religion and can practice
whatever appeals to them so long as it does not impede anyone's ability
to perform their duties. There are many practitioners of the asari
'siarist' philosophy. Since opening dialog with the human Systems
Alliance, some turians have embraced Confucianism and Zen Buddhism.

Maybe he thought, during his stint on Omega, where we meet up with him, that when he died, he'd be joining the spirit of his team?  I wonder if that means his team's spirit isn't complete without him?

Ok. Let's mindmeld and have babies. Yes?

The death thing is interesting, but a hard topic to speculate about. We don't know that much about turians and religion. I know the things about the 'spirits' and such, but it doesn't say anything about death. They also have complete freedom of religion, and I have no idea of Garrus' thoughts on this. Maybe he's into the spirit theory, but some turians embrace other religions. Maybe he doesn't believe anything. Seriously, no idea.

@ Alexine: Going to the library with moaning Garrus on your mp3thingie? I don't think you'll be able to study much... :P

Hmm, now reading the codex, I think it does affect him to a certain degree. He does seem like he's taking a lot on his shoulders for lasting up to over 24 hours taking on those mercs on Omega. And I suppose if you want to interpret this in one way, Garrus was taking the deaths of his squad seriously, since it reflects in him how reckless he's been until he'd realised the loss of lives. So I guess in some ways, the deaths of his squad is a form of inspiration, but probably in a soured way.

Nah, I'm just going to take it on the train to the library. I know I won't concentrate upon it in the library... unless I want a distracted break.

Kinda makes me wonder what a turian Zen Buddhist would look like.

Gosh, yeah, that n°6 is uh...*giggles* Thanks, Cerrydd!

So I just finished my Insanity run. Had Miranda and Grunt in my final party. Shepard caught Grunt (!) and was caught by Miranda. So, it's not always the same person, and you don't necessarily catch the squishiest person either...Hmm...On a different note, Insanity? NEVER AGAIN. Boy, was it painful.

As for Garrus and the idea of death, he doesn't strike me as the type to believe in an afterlife. Which would probably make his stand on Omega all the more poignant: he doesn't have the hope of anything better, just of going out with a bang and taking as many bad guys with him as possible.

Then again, Mordin didn't strike me as the religious type either, and yet he prayed for the dead krogan female...

@ Mr.Blazen: A performance? Music or theatre?

Unfortunately, the spirit of a team only works for as long as there is someone left to be inspired by it. Who is to be inspired once all of Garrus's team and Garrus himself are gone? If he's to truly honor his fallen team, he should take the time he had with them and their deaths as inspiration to do better in the future, for them.

Yeah, I thought of that sleeping on their sides possibility too... but I know it at least wouldn't work for Saren. The fringe on the sides of his head is too long.

He can't sleep at all...that's why he's so darn disagreeable. :pinched:
