I can't update the pseudo-OP right now, since my internet is currently at 64kbps and the edit post/blog/etc. forms won't load at that speed - but it returns to normal speed after tomorrow, so I'll update it then.



So far on my list of things to add there is Egyptian God!Garrus, the Garrusbaby motivational, and the Garrus soundfiles. If anyone has a link to the ME2 Garrus soundfiles that were posted ages ago, I'd appreciate it. Also, if you can think of anything else that should be added, send it my way.

The Garrus = (Egyptian) God comments put me in mind of a few things, mixed in with the ideas of the possible future of Cerberus.

Two of my favourite parts of art history:

Akhenaten, father of Tutankhamun, changed his name to have -aten on the end instead of -amun, worshiping the sun instead of the polytheism of Egypt of the time. Akhenaten's appearance has raised speculation to whether he had a disease and/or was initiating new art conventions at that time. (Akhenaten's wife is Nefertiti btw.)

Hatshepsut: a rare female pharoah, accomplished by essentially refusing to relinquish her role as regent while the young pharoah was yet to come of age.

Miranda may not be Hatshepsut but she could change things for the better. Akhenaten, well, his appearance reminds me somewhat of Mordin's plus it is an interesting story. Maybe Garrus had a hand in all of that upheaval surrounding these two pharoahs.

Hmm, interesting comparison, Aricle. I don't know about Mordin/Akhenaton connection, but I do see the Hatshepsut/Miranda connection. Don't really know much about them though, since I'm mainly doing the earlier stuff.

So, I'm sober again, and holy hell I missed a lot today.
HAI JANEY!  I think I've seen the gender vs sex thing before, over on the Thane group, so yea, I can see that also being something else that needs to be considered.  But again, I think they've written most of Garrus's character, so at this point... eh.  It'd feel off if they changed it NOW (as in for ME3.)

Garrus as the Egyptian god made me smile.  I needed teh smile.  Has been a bit of a sad night for me.

And I'm now at the point in my "perfrect" ME2 PT that I've recruited all I can, and now I'm starting loyalty missions.
Can I just say... as much as I love Garrus... it's really hard for me to stay away from Life Support?  It's the new conversation.  It's the fact that there IS more conversation.  Garrus got so totally jipped in that dept.  But I can be comforted that my head cannon/fandom stories can cover this whole ... lapse in judgment, yea...  The perfect PT will still have Garrus as the main squeeze.  There's a reason I made Caye... (who cheated on Kaiden for Thane /lulz)

Liking the whole team: Eh, I'm with the crowd of there are some characters I really love, some I could do without, and some I'm just ambivalent about.  Miranda is one of the few I could do without.  Grunt also fits into that category.  Jack... I wish there had been something for the "friend" FemShep with that girl.  Especially with my Plain Jane paragon.  I can see how two Renegades would not get a long, AT ALL.  I really wanted to like Jake.  But instead, I just washed my hands of her.  She's a character I can definitely see NOT being in ME3 with my Shepard.  And that's fine by me.

Grunt, I never USED him.  I could see him staying for the pure reason of killing things and being all "pure krogan" but he lacks the depth of character you get from Wrex.  At this point, I'd rather just have a different krogan than him.  But again, this is just my opinion.

Miranda struck me as too much the "princess" so my Shepard never got a long with her.  Never got the resignation line either, since Miranda isn't a part of my final team, like, ever.  I usually bring the sniper brigade.  (Garrus has made it into my final team I think 9 times out of 10.)

I can see how, since they really took a broad varity of personalities with ALL the characters, that most people will have chords that strike well with some and not others.  But that's a GOOD thing, I think.  And, if they do it, it'll make the RP all that more awesome if characters don't come back in ME3 (or leave during) because of the type of person Shepard is.  But I can only really see that happening if the Reapers are the first thing you come across in ME3, as in, it picks up RIGHT OFF THE BAT.

For Renegades, I could totally see Samara (who said she'd have to kill me!), Jack and possibly Zaeed just leaving.  I have other thoughts on this, but it's not terribly Garrus related.  And I'm pretty tired.
Suffice to say... Garrus

OH the Garrus/Al conversation (knew I was going to forget something.)
The awkward factor is cute.  But they have all of two qualities in common: cute awkwardness and witty commentary.  For me, a funny guy usually trumps all else, especially if his humor has a cynical/sardonic twist to it.  While Garrus comes across as a bit more smooth than Al... I can see the appeal.  Mileage may vary for others.  But it doesn't hinder Al at ALL when they craft him pretty dead sexy to boot.
Garrus has the voice... mmmm, the voice.  And the look.  Dragon/kitty face... mandibles....
